Ice and Ruby both watched Ravari even after she sat down, but Ruby eventually looked back at Ice, "What she said," she added unimaginatively. She reached over and held Ravari's hand, knowing she'd work even harder not to blink out holding one of them.

Ice took in a deep breath then let it out slowly and gave in to the inevitable, "Alright, I'll tell you. But please remember that I've tried to keep both of you out of it for good reason," he started then sat back in his chair with one leg pulled up like a security blanket.

"This was a 'goft' from my uncle for a couple of reasons. The b*****d has been trying to get our branch of the family on the royal throne for centuries. But my father was the one in the direct line and worked very hard to get a son he could use for it. Unfortunately, my family seems to be very misogynistic so only boys will do. As a result, there wasn't a female alive that my father didn't try. Joke's on him, though because I'm the only Y chromosome he threw. And I don't do females, if you know what I mean. Needless to say, my uncle is getting impatient with me not being under his thumb anymore. Two of my half-sisters snuck in and kidnapped me then brought me here.

"I love my sisters. All of them. They're wonderful because they weren't raised by my family. They're all different mixes too so our reunions are always interesting.

"Anyway... Since my father was taken out during one of Lareth's purges, it falls to my uncle to continue the plots and plans. Needless to say, I'm not cooperating.

"But I've banned him from the building so he won't be able to come back. My only issues now are going to be my cousins, all idiotic jerks but most follow the 'rules' Cassarria set up for them. Most just come for a design, deliver a warning, and then leave. My uncle seems to become a bit unhinged since Lareth died and seems to think it's perfect time to take over the throne," he explained it as best as he could without giving any details on why his sisters had gotten him out.

That one he was keeping close to protect his friends from his past. He hadn't always been such a nice person...

He hoped Ravari wouldn't hate him for his past, or for his idiotic family. But he'd kept so much from her about himself...

His uncle did need him... But his uncle was also afraid of him... Both sides of the coin but dangerous on both levels as well.

He also hadn't told either of them about the full extent of his powers. That would be very frightening if he ever lost control. The only thing most knew was that he could 'pull' Ravari from wherever she blinked to. Only Cassarria and Varos knew the full extent of his powers and Varos always watched him cautiously.

Ruby hugged Ice as well then put an arm around Ravari's waist and put her head against her shoulder. It was a cute pose for the smaller female as well as comforting for herself and Ravari since the Hylarr were as into touch as they were. The entire race needed and craved touch, physical contact with others was necessary for their physical and emotional growth and stability.

Ravari had needed it desperately after she'd gotten away from the "rotten inbred idiot" as Ice liked to call her captor and Sire. Ice had provided the contact she'd needed initially, Ruby had done it as unconsciously as Ice had. Other Hylarr gave her smaller touch when they encountered her, keeping it simple until Ice gave word that she was ready for more.

For now, the ruby-eyed female was simply being herself as she kept in contact with her friend while they looked at their other friend.

Ice gave them a small smile, one of his simpler ones that showed genuine affection instead of his usual animated smile. He accepted their affection and appreciation their acceptance more than they would ever know.

" I don't know how many sisters I have at this point. They're all hybrids, so it makes our reunions interesting. Like I said, there wasn't a female that my father wouldn't try. Right now, only two come here regularly. They usually share the apartment next to mine. One is half dragon and I'll warn you both now to avoid touching her skin. Yzze has a few issues thanks to her dragon side. But she's still loads of fun," he started then was interrupted by the phone on his desk.

He turned to answer it, not questioning it because Sally took all of the calls from outside the building which meant that this call came from inside the building. He frowned as he listened, "Yes," he frowned harder, "Yes, I understand. I'll be down as soon as I can," he paused to listen and finally gave a small smile, "That sounds like her. Thank you for calling me. I'll be down soon," he finished and hung up then turned to the females.

"Well... It seems like you'll get to meet my other sister right away. Vari, sweetie, I'll have to bunk with you for a little bit. It seems like my sister has gotten tangled with something and I have to babysit her until she's healed up. Unfortunately she's a lousy patient and I seem to be the only one that is more stubborn than she is. Hopefully I won't have to actually sit on her this time," he explained then looked at Ruby as she started to pout.

"I'll have to meet her later. I'm due for a meeting with our blacksmith, a lesson with my trainer, then dinner with my brother before bed. My Guardian is trying to get my weapon figured out before I step into final weapons lessons. In fact, I have to go now or I'll be late. I'll catch you two in a couple of days, when I have to take a break or start screaming at someone," she said then gave them both a kiss to the cheek and bounced out of the office.

Ice stood and put his arm around Ravari's waist as he guided her out of the office at a slower pace, "Come on then, you can come with me to collect my sister. To be honest? I think you'll love meeting Silverr," he teased her just a little bit, not up to his usual standard but enough to show her that he was hiding the best part about his sister, "Incidentally, all my sisters have one thing in common with me besides our idiotic father. We all have had with some amount of blue in it. Some have more than others, but we all have it. I think it's one of our finer qualities," he teased a bit more while giving an interesting piece of information as they approached the elevator and he pressed the button.

Thankfully, he was one of the few that had constant access to every floor of the building, so getting to the security floor wasn't a problem.

On the way out, Sally handed him a note about decorating an apartment on the security floor. The conditions on that were interesting. Three bedrooms, one for sleeping, on as an office, and one as a weapons room/workout room. No need for a kitchen. Good sized living room. No white. Soothing natural colors only. No iron at all.

Interesting.

He showed the note to Ravari, knowing that she'd enjoy helping him with colors and fabrics for it. He got them to the elevator as she read the conditions for the new apartment that the contractors were putting in right now.
