Imnolu straightened up when the Code looked at him and nodded fervently. He would do anything for Isidor. He would tell him everything he knew and then some. He wanted to do his best.

Imnolu melted at the smile Isidor gave him and smiled back sweetly, ignoring the way his face flushed just a little.

When Isidor transformed for the first time, he squealed in delight, bouncing on his toes, tail wagging like crazy. "Oh my gosh, you look amazing!! Wow!! Pink really suits you! Dare I say it? You're Isidor-able!"

Yes, he had re-used that pun. No, he didn't care. This was the life Isidor would simply have to accept now.

“....No,” the Code said after a moment. “No, there will be no more puns tonight, you are done with them.”

If it had anything like eyes, they settled back on Pergamon.

“Perhaps you should consider getting your education from me, actually.” The Code might not have had hands, but at least it didn’t have puns.

“...But we will worry about that in the future. For tonight, you have a bit more work to do. I will need you to visit your Wonder. If you are to maintain a connection with it, and me, you will need to visit it. I will give you a part of myself, to anchor you to the magic there. When you are ready, we will depart. I will show you the way,” it said, and already the Code had broken off a small piece of itself. The tiny orb fluttered, almost helplessly, as if waiting to be collected and carried.

Pergamon groaned, briefly burying his face in hes free hand and letting out a very tired sigh.

"I promise, Code, Imnolu has been a very helpful teacher. Even if he is given to....very questionable puns."

Honestly, it was charming in its way, that Imnolu was so unrestrained about his jokes, even in front of something like the Code.

"I must admit, I'm eager to see what Pergamon might be on the Moon. I'm familiar with the Earth city, of course, and the library there, and its rivalry with the one at Alexandria, but--ah, not. Relevant." He flushed, a little, and reached out to very carefully take the little, fluttering orb, pulling it close to his chest.

"Please, show us the way."

Imnolu's jaw dropped in offended silence at the Code's reprimand for his pun. Well! How rude! His puns were great, thank you very much, and as long as Isidor liked them, he didn't care what anyone else thought.

...But he didn't want to get the Code all frustrated with him enough to take it out on the newly minted Pergamon. So he closed his mouth without saying anything. Without even pouting! Honestly, he deserved a medal for that.

Carefully, he stepped close and laid a hand on Pergamon's shoulder, wondering if he should perhaps power up. It didn't seem important, though, and he didn't want to come across as aggressive to the Code or something, so he decided against it. He was probably already pushing his limits as a senshi by being this close to Pergamon's precious little Code piece, but he didn't want to take the chance of being left behind if there was no contact between himself and Pergamon.

He smiled nervously at the Code and nodded to show he was also ready.

“I have no familiarity with any location which shares its name,” the Code said simply. “It would be best to differentiate them in your head. However, you will have many opportunities to compare them, if you like. You are welcome–encouraged–to spend as much time on your Wonder.”

It waited until the two were together. They needed no great bindings to connect them; a simple touch to the shoulder was enough for them to travel as a group.

“This may feel strange,” the Code warned, “I have heard that it can be minimally disorienting for the body. We will travel to Pergamon together. If you are dizzy, don’t push yourself. Give it a moment to pass. You’ll feel stronger at your Wonder.”

And then, in a burst of warm light, they were teleported from the Moon Kingdom.

"Right, yes, sorry," Pergamon said, looking a little sheepish. But he gave the Code a nod, and braced himself for the change, as he'd experienced before--it was a little disorienting, being in one place and then suddenly in another, but...well.

What he found there rapidly distracted him.

This Pergamon, like the one he'd known of on Earth, was a library. But it immediately took his breath away. They stood on the first floor, in an open space, and rising up around them were stories and stories of bookshelves, open to the floor below, with elegant railings and columns decorating the edges. Towards the back of the area they stood in, there was what looked to Pergamon like a circulation desk, with a chair behind it that seemed in need of a seat. And behind that were beautiful glass doors, opening to what looked like a courtyard. There were stairs on both sides, towards the back, and Pergamon found himself stepping forward, entranced by the view before him.

There were cracks in the floor. The desk had seen better days. The glass doors, decorated with fine gold filigree forming two large crescent moons surrounded by florals and leaves, were clearly damaged, glass clouded, metal tarnished, and several of the panes clearly cracked. The tables throughout the room were all damaged and perhaps broken.

But there was beauty, and so, so many books.

"Oh," he said, softly. "This....this is what you're trusting me to protect?"

Imnolu gasped quietly in wonder at the... well, Wonder. It was gorgeous. Even with how dilapidated it had become in the last thousand.... Wait, no, this was a newly minted Wonder, right? There had been no Pergamon the Knight before his sweet Isidor. Then... well, it probably still been a thousand years since it was a proper library of the universe, anyway.

He longed to run through and look at everything, peer at the books in multitudes of languages he probably couldn't read, but he held himself still. This was Pergamon's place first. He was so unfamiliar with waiting for permission, ugh. But also... he didn't want to step on Pergamon's toes at all. To act like he knew anything. It was more important that Pergamon had this to himself for a while first.

"This is the best library I've ever seen," he whispered.

“It is quite impressive,” the Code agreed. “It’s been sealed for a very long time. I’m sure you can understand why it would be a priority to see this location in good hands.”

The Code made a noise, something like a sigh, but neither its size nor brightness fluctuated.

“It has fallen into more disrepair than I’d thought to expect. But, all the more reason to have someone looking after it. I hope you’ll be up to the task of guarding it–and repairing it. There are few that I could ask, but it is a shame to see it in this state. I will help, how I can. But what you do for your Wonder, it will do for you. The more you care for it, the greater your bond will grow. In time, you will be rewarded for your effort.”

"I'm honored to have it given into my care," Pergamon said. He suspected that it would be easy to spend hours here, getting lost among the shelves. Even if he doubted he'd be able to read any of the books here--who knew what sorts of languages they were in--he could look. Could carefully examine. Could study, given half a chance.

He'd learned languages before. Perhaps now wasn't the moment to start, but he'd find time.

"But we need to find you somewhere safe, yes?" He looked thoughtful, looking past the shelves, and--yes, further back in the room, he could see another door, one much more humble than the decorated stained glass behind the circulation desk. "Perhaps in an office?" At least, it seemed like a good place for an office to be. He was swift about walking towards it and opening the door, and relieved to find that it did indeed feature a fine desk, a very comfortable looking chair, and neatly arranged stacks of papers and books that suggested whoever had worked here had quite a bit of responsibility.

And also that they were much more organized than Pergamon himself. Oops.

There was a beautiful window seat carved into the back wall, and the stained glass above it was dirty, but still all in one piece, depicting the upturned crescent moon that decorated Pergamon's own uniform in a pink and purple starry sky. There was a broad, flat sill next to the seat, and on it rested several books and an elegant brass display, like a shallow bowl with astronomical carvings around the edge, that had once held something round, though whatever had gone there was gone, and it seemed in need of something new to fill it.

"Will this do?" He asked, gesturing towards it. "We can look for someplace nicer, but this seems safe. And like it's holding together well."

Imnolu hummed, keeping his words to himself—after all, he was no Knight, and his son... his son had been one, but there was still only so much he'd ever been directly told. What he did know was that it wasn't really his place to pay attention to the big secrets, and he'd already listened to too much.

He took a deep breath to steady himself. Now wasn't the time to get teary about Seiche. This was Isidor's—Pergamon's shining moment. So he tried to wait quietly, smiling at how Pergamon seemed so at home already here.

“An office is wise. More fortified than any of those shelves,” the Code mused. “And if there is danger, you will know about it before it has time to reach me. This is a nice location,” it deduced, which also sounded like praise.

“You should visit me sometimes, when you are here. I may not always have the energy to speak to you here, but you know where to find me on the Moon if you need guidance.”

The room seemed calm, peaceful. The Code, the same.

“I won’t keep you if you’re ready to explore. I want you to get used to this Wonder. It has a lot to offer. And,” the Code swirled, a bit smaller, but a bit brighter, “So do you.”
