Listening to the advice her old friend hand given her Teiluj nodded, taking note the of the information towards the care of her Radaku. The hybrid was grateful, she cared very deeply for her companion. After all he had been with her through everything. "Maybe we should stop at a market in the village, so I can pick up some cloth to protect Tao's feet. I don't want him hurt if the sands are as hot as you say."

Teiluj was calming down now, a glimmer of hope that she might finally find N'kole crossed her heart and mind. Her antenna twitched at the mention of currency, nibbling uncomfortably at the prospect of someone else paying for something. She didn't want to really be indebted to anyone. Even if it was her friend. A thought crossed her mind. They had been such good friends. Maybe if she got something for her friend from Oba then she could repay V'demhe for her kindness in finding a guard for the journey. She wouldn't tell her such plans though, it would have to be a surprise. She would have to think hard on the kind of gift to bring back for her.

As Dem spoke about her daughters talents, Teiluj found herself blushing. Picturing herself in a dress fit for an Oban. Was she even allowed to be wearing clothing from another race that wasn't one of her own? She was a hybrid, maybe it wouldn't matter so much?

"I'm grateful, I trust you would be able to tell a true guard from someone just hoping to steal from me." Teiluj commented as she double checked all her belongings had been gathered up for the trip. Checking Tao was comfortable enough to travel, Teiluj climbed upon the beasts back.

Unlike her mother, Teiluj was quite short and small in stature so the Radaku didn't struggle to carry her as much as he would have fallen down under the burden of her mother. "Should we start moving?" Teiluj asked, unsure of which direction they would need to go. She had never been to the village before after all. She was a hybrid and as such was told to stay away from other races and places of gathering.

Getting cloth at the market would be a good idea so she nodded her head to it. Dem hadn't had such warning and so her poor radaku had had to suffer until she'd come up with a solution. Luckily it wasn't long.

V'demhe waited for Teiluj to gather her things before she turned to lead the way. "I'll have to send word to Masika so she can make her way back toward Oba. I'm sure she'd love to make a dress for you." It wasn't often that she heard of her daughter making clothing for an Alk hybrid so she imagined that the girl would love the idea.

With the girl on her familiar Dem started to walk toward the village. It was an earthling one but she had no fear walking into it. Times had changed. "I'll make sure the guard won't steal from you or anything else." She could be intimidating enough on a good day. "It's too bad Masika is in Tale or I'd just have her go with you. She's not much of a fighter but she knows how to travel." And in a pinch the girl could use defensive magic to protect herself. "We'll make sure you are on a direct route to Oba as well. I'll send you toward the largest city since most people tend to end up there." She talked as they made their way just to fill the silence and give her friend something to focus on.

Gently patting her Radaku's neck, Teiluj looked over at Dem. "I'm making an assumption, but Masika is your daughter?" The thoughts of flowing dresses draped around her body passed through her mind. A daydream she could carry with her later through her travels to Oba. Surely that would impress N'kole if she were to find him.

As V'demhe began moving Teiluj muttered a command to Tao, the signal to start moving forward following the Alkidike. Soft footfalls padded beside the larger woman as they began their journey to the village together. "I would very much like to meet your daughter V'demhe." Teiluj grinned. It was welcoming to know that her friend had found love in the end and wasn't so much pining for her anymore.

Antenna's twitched at the sound of a 'large city'. A sudden panic washed over Teiluj as she quickly turned her head away from Dem. A swell forming in her throat she just couldn't swallow no matter how hard she tried. "But I'm not an Oban Dem. I... I can't be... it's not right for me to be in such a populated place. Look at me." Teiluj thrust her arm out towards her traveling companion. "I don't belong among pure bloods." Her voice sharp with pain.

Having grown up in the Alkidike territory. Her mixed blood was seen as a stain to her kind. Unwelcome, hated, despised, hunted. Even though her mother loved her dearly, she herself found it hard to love the mixed aspects of herself. Cursing her body every day for how different it was compared to the rest of the women who looked so much like V'demhe. It was only natural that she would fear the same outcome from all the other tribes as well. It was only a passing miracle that N'kole had entered her life. That he had seen her for who she was and not WHAT she was. Maybe that's what had bonded her so close to the Oban in the first place. Even with his missing memory.

She just had to find him.

She offered a small hum before nodding her head. "You assume correct. Masika is my daughter." One of them anyways. Dem didn't often talk about Galene since the girl had disappeared with her father. As her friend said that she would like to meet with her child she smiled. "I'll write to her and see if she can't meet you in Oba. I think you'd like my son Draven too. If I can ever find the trouble magnet." He was the reason she was going to Zena after all.

When Teiluj started to panic about being sent to the city she paused in her walk to look at the hybrid. She'd forgotten that her friend had been treated poorly and stayed low to avoid conflict. Not to mention she wouldn't know that Masika wasn't pure Alk either.

"Teiluj.. My daughter is a hybrid. She's half Alk and half water tribe. Draven is a hybrid too, though he shares no Alk blood with me." A small frown had formed as she spoke. "The views changed after the war, you don't have to hide so much anymore." She made a mental note to find a guard that was a hybrid so that Tei could feel at ease while traveling and any fears she may have, spoken or otherwise, could be lifted just a little. "I would not send you somewhere that you would be looked at with such distain. I cannot promise you there won't be a few that cling to the old views but... hybrids are a lot more common now. You'll see a bunch of young ones running around."

Jaw dropped open, head snapping once again in V'demhe's direction. She had not just a daughter but a son too!? She couldn't find the voice to speak such words out loud however. Ontop of that her children were HYBRIDS just like her.

Teiluj's mouth opened and closed as she struggled to find her voice. That would explain why Dem had always been so nice to her. Her views were not like the rest of the sisters of Aisha. Her shoulders relaxed considerably. If this was the case then she would be able to put more trust in Dem's choices. Seeing as she was now much for accomplished than the hybrid, and far more traveled than her as well. The young woman took a deep but shaky breath in. Perhaps this would be another step towards gaining some strength and confidence. This could pull her into being a stronger woman like her mother.
