Dahl Yuri_shoujo Dahl I just heard shizuru and AHHH crying Not bad, actually XD I can't wait to hear her voice in the later eps heart Yeah they actually did okay with her voice, it was just like... SHOCK to hear that accent on her. XD There's a few funky times, her VA could've gone a liiiittle lighter on the accent, but not bad really. "YAH SO MEAN" BEST.LINE.EVER. XD YEAH rofl I laughed SO sosososososoooo hard at that. heart sounded just as notty as the Japanese version. xd

I watched the DVD in Japanese. I haven't tried it in English yet, but I got the collecter's edition which had a t-shirt with it. I can't wait for the next one in May. Bandai doesn't put a bad price for the DVDs, don't you think?

I finally saw the dub yesterday!
And I actually liked it quite a lot. Although...I really, really, REALLY did not like Takumi's voice. The rest were livable, and I thought Mashiro's, Shizuru's Haruka's, and Yukino's all worked really well. Natsuki was quite good as well. Although, as Dahhl(I believe it was you) said in the other thread, I am saddened by the lack of "Roodo Shiruver Cartridge". When I saw that, it actually took me a moment to register that she was saying it properly.

The title, "My HiME" bothers me. If the Japanese meant to use the English word, wouldn't they have it in Roman letters like HiME instead of the kanji character? It seems they used kanji because they put "Mai" as in the character.

The whole title was a play on words, Mai HiME so it could be Mai as in the character, ooor Mai HiME as in dancing princess, and then phonetic could be "my princess" or whatever. So it really doesn't make sense. However, I think when the Japanese did romanize it for things, it came out as My HiME, so I really don't know...

I won't be able to see the DVD for YEARS, I guess. I live in Finland, Northern Europe, and the anime and manga has just come here. The most famous series are already here in mangas, and if I want something different manga, there's a shop which sells mangas in English, but the prices aren't so nice then. And anime? There comes just kid's animes like "Hamtaro" from the tv here. Anime on DVDs is slowly coming more popular, but there's still just a few. So I have to travel to States to get the DVD or somewhere else where the DVD is sold with English subtitles. But English dubs... I'm not sure do I wanna hear them. xd Usually when I happen to see some animation where is English dubs (that happens quite seldom, though), I don't like them. And if I like them, I still don't really love them. But I guess it takes some time before I get used to English dubs.

I just got the Boxset yesterday and I think they could have done alittle more to make it stand out. I passed it up a few times in the store before really looking at it. I also kinda wish they'd put more than one picture on the box too...but the shirt rocks. It's now my favorite t-shirt ever. blaugh I think Natsuki's voice was pretty good but I was shocked when I heard Shizuru. Holy god, when I heard it, it took me awhile to remember that she had an accent. But I've grown to love her voice. Everyone else...eh, they were pretty good.
