╔═.♥.══════╗ She sat at an old wooden desk, shifting through papers, and making little tweaks here and there with her blue pen. She was quiet, other than the occasional popping of the gum in her mouth. Overall, she seemed bored. Another day, another dollar. It was easy to consider drug peddling mundane whenever you'd been doing it for your entire life. Red's bottom lip tucked under her teeth in a confused stare for a long moment before the realization crept over her face and she jotted down a final note before pulling herself away from the desk to stretch. She wore a white button up tied below her breasts over a pale blue tank top. Jeans tucked in between her boots and socks accompanied the final piece of the look, which was the long ruby colored hair she'd pulled back into a high pony tail.
Rose turned the wheeled chair in to the desk and picked up the pile of papers. She tapped them on top of the desk and slipped them into a manila envelope, which she left on the desk for the time being. She grabbed her water bottle off the desk and slipped her sunglasses from on top of her head to over her eyes. She grabbed her keys and a white 'cowboy' hat off the table next to the front door. "I'm off to do my rounds!" She called out before walking down the front porch steps to the red BMW parked in the driveway. "Hello, Baby" she crooned to the car before slipping in to the driver's seat. Red pulled her cell phone from her pocket and plugged it into the auxiliary cord connected to the vehicle. She hit a few buttons to get her music going before backing out onto the road and heading into town. ╚══════.♥.═╝ Virtues are written in water

𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓼𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓸𝓹𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓭 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓮𝔂𝓮𝓼... 𝕷eaning back in the seat of her porch swing, Mim listened to the sounds of the forest as she enjoyed her first coffee of the day. It was amazing how peaceful life could be while partaking in it's simplest pleasures, if only every day could start off like this, then she might manage to be truly happy. A soft sigh escaped lush purple painted lips, her pale blue -nearly grey- eyes shifted from the tree tops beyond the porch railing down to her little friend, Rust the Raccoon as he ate up the morsels of food she had brought out to him. A soft smile adorned her features, though it did not reach her eyes as she reflected on the memory of how she had come to find the little rascal. If he hadn't been a squawker she never would have known he had been hiding inside of the cab of an old abandoned 1930 International truck that was on the edge of her property. Lucky for him she'd gotten to him first, there were plenty of predators whom would have loved gobbling the baby coon up for a snack.
The cellphone on the coffee table before her rang abruptly, jarring her from her thoughts. Mim took her time picking it up and observing the name on the screen. Wart. She shook her head and rolled her eyes before sliding thumb across the screen and bringing the device to her ear."Wart, darling, what news have you for me today? Anything interesting happening in town?" Rust looked up from his fruit bowl with a small piece of apple grasped in his little hands and managed what could have been called a smile at the sound of her voice. He was a plump little guy for a woodland coon, but he had Mim to thank for that, his savior, his guardian angel. She took wonderful care of him, and in return he scurried about the kingdoms, bringing her small treasures whenever he stumbled across them. A mushroom here, a gold bracelet or ring there, she had a small chest in her room filled with the trinkets he'd found over the years.
"Things have settled down since the last skirmish between Granny and Stiltskin's people. So far nothing big has happened, but rumor has it that he's not giving up so easily." Wart replied, his voice coming in loud and clear over the phone. Rust nibbled on his apple piece, as Mim reached out and began petting his head while she stared off into the grain of the wood above her.
"Well now, that's not much of a surprise is it?" Mim sighed and shook her head, taking a long drink of her coffee before continuing. "My shipments are still running on time in spite of the, disturbances though, yes?" She cast a brief glare out across the porch, into the woods beyond as though the upset would be sensed by the offending parties. It took a lot of self control not to curse them all outright, but then nobody would come to see her. It does not do well to destroy one's patrons, bad for business. When she did not hear Wart's reply she cleared her throat loudly into the microphone of her cell.
"Y-yes! Yes Mim, everything is running smoothly and on schedule. In fact, a little bluebird told me that you should expect a pick up sometime today after noon. Miss Hood has been a busy girl." The good news was enough to make Mim giggle as she reached scratched behind Rust's ears, the coon purring softly at the attention.
"Good boy, Wart. Just what I like to hear." With that Mim abruptly turned the phone off and stood up, then began collecting her coffee cup and the small plate of sweets she had set out for herself, but not before giving Rust a purple frosted sugar cookie. "I'm heading inside to check up on a few things, be a dear and keep watch?" She giggled again as the raccoon just stared at her, without another word she went inside, the front door of the cabin closed behind her with a loud slam. She really needed to get someone to fix that damned door.

╔═.♥.══════╗Rose stopped for coffee and a cheese danish at her grandmother's diner, where she picked up the log from the till for the previous week as well. She nodded to the cute brunette Jill working the register before she left. After breakfast and a fresh piece of gum, she made two other local stops, then hit the highway to go out to the night club on the outskirts of town called The Black Cauldron. The manager Robbie had one of the most profitable deals with Granny. Everyone called him 'The White Rabbit' because he had a way of luring dumb and unsuspecting teenagers into this little hole in the wall and getting them into trouble like becoming drug peddlers, becoming involved in human trafficking, and other rumors your typical housewife would cringe at. Naturally the dangerous rumors only added to the appeal for the youths. Rose walked in to find the janitor mopping the floor in between the previous night's shift and tonight's. "Oy!" She called to him with a raise of her left arm. "Robbie awake yet?" The small, frail looking old man who's name she didn't recall hesitated for a moment before nodding. Rose tipped her hat to him and turned to her right where there were two staircase; one leading down to the basement, and another leading up to the second floor. The elevator was near the back and Rose didn't want to be rude to the man mopping, so she took the stairs up. "I hope you're decent this time you piece of s**t, because if I see your d**k again I'll be tempted to cut it off and feed it to my dog." She called out to him as she reached the landing of the second floor.
"Oh c'mon Red don't act like you're not curious for a taste", he said turning to face her. He was wearing a plain white robe and a smug grin with a champagne glass in his hand. Clear blue eyes stared at her from under a mess of short brown hair. He took a sip of what Rose guessed was a little orange juice splashed into a lot of alcohol. The look on her face said she clearly wasn't interested in the offer and he rolled his eyes. "So were you born with that stick up your a**, or do you have to jam it in each morning?" He asked her before his bare feet padded across the room to a fat black envelope he picked up and tossed at her. She chuckled before retorting with "I'm plenty of fun. I just know better than to lie with flea-infested rodents." She offered him a wink before feeling the envelope. "I know this isn't all you have for me. I hear you have something else- but, 'Mim's the word on that one" She stated with a curious lilt at the end of her statement. He scoffed at the pun and shook his head. "I'd love to see that crazy b***h on one of my 'shrooms." He said before turning toward his bathroom. "I'm sure you'd love to see her on a lot of things, Robbie. Now come the ******** on. I've got a schedule to keep, and you always throw me off." He laughed as he pulled something from under the bathroom sink, which she could through the open door from where she stood.
"And yet you never rework your schedule to suit my needs." He stated with an air of sexuality only a nun could overlook. "Not on your life." She mumbled, glancing out his bedroom window. He finally handed over the box with a final "Handle with care." He made a move like he was trying to kiss her cheek, but she stopped him by putting the envelope in between them. "You smell like a bad decision. Go take a shower." Robbie acted like he was offended before saying "I'm gonna wear you down one of these days, Red. I just know I am." She laughed. "Not today, Robbie. Not today, or any day." She looked around the room again. It was then she realized something was missing. "Where are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb?" She asked curiously. Red made up nicknames for Robbie's main two body guards because she was terrible with remembering the names of people she deemed irrelevant, like two goons who's main purpose was to protect the shitbag in front of her. Robbie wasn't the first 'White Rabbit'. He was just the most recent one; one paranoid enough to hire his own protective guard. "Out back setting up for the rave? In the bathroom yanking each other off? I don't ******** know. I told them to clear off before you got here because I thought it'd help me get my d**k wet if we didn't have an audience." He laughed before finishing his morning drink. "A for effort, but once again, I'm gonna have to say no." She shrugged. "I'd apologize, but we both know I'm not sorry." Red shook her head, wondering why she hadn't already left.

The world weeps,••• Walking up the sidewalk, a man wearing a suit, steadily made his way up to the establishment known as The Black Cauldron. He had done his homework, he knew that this place would be empty. Well, mostly empty. The place belonged to Granny, was run by a local nobody, and most importantly, was a front for Granny's drug smuggling operation. Now, this wasn't one of the big places. No, he'd have to find the right people for that information. This particular moment was established for finding those special someones. You see, the man had a vendetta, and it wasn't going to end with a few dead bodies and some gunshots. Oh no, this wouldn't end till all that had crossed him were dead. This man's name was Jack Aeron Wolfgang. Everyone else knew him as Wolf. He was the kind of man mothers told their kids about to keep them in line. Thought to have been retired and more recently, dead. Jack came out of retirement to settle a score.
Now standing in front of The Black Cauldron, Jack reached into his jacket and took out one black Berreta 92G-SD. Racking the slide back, he loaded the gun. Pulling the hammer back with his thumb, it was now ready to kill someone. Opening the door to the establishment with his left hand, he pushed it open carefully. The gun at the ready. As Jack's eyes adjusted to the dark interior he didn't see anyone in the lobby. Good, made this a lot easier. As he made his way across the lobby, then the dance floor; he made his way to the staircase. Unfortunately, two bodyguards appeared at the landing of the staircase. It seemed they had come up from the basement. Now, this situation wasn't unfortunate for Jack. This was bad news for our two friends here. There was only a moment of hesitation between the three people. Once the fact that Jack was holding a gun registered they immediately attempted to attack him. With his free hand, he grabbed the one on his left and swung him around to block the one on his right. As the one on the right ran into his friend, it caused a chain reaction sending all three into the wall. It was in this instant that both their heads lined up just right, and Jack proceeded to fire a single bullet through both of their skulls. As the two fell to the floor Jack stepped over them and continued to make his way up stairs.under a blanket of bodies•••

╔═.♥.══════╗ Robbie opened his mouth to say some other snide statement when what sounded like a gunshot echoed through the stairwell Rose was standing in. The color drained from his face before he retreated to his mattress and yanked a Smith & Wesson SD9 VE, Semi-Automatic, 9mm from under it. "Jesus ******** Christ" Red exclaimed as she ducked into the room out of the line of fire from Robbie's shaking hands. She set the box and the envelope down and reached behind her where she usually held her own piece only to find she hadn't taken it out of the glove box of her car yet. <********> She muttered, digging into her boot for a switchblade instead. "How do you know that dumbass of yours didn't just forget to safety his s**t again?" She asked him before looking up to see a figure appear at the top of the stairs. She knew upon sight that was neither of Robbie's goons, and she dove under the coffee table in time for Robbie to fire three rounds into the door frame. The man was shaking so hard he couldn't aim properly. When he realized this, he kicked the table on it's side causing the things scattered across the top to fall about the room and breaking his favorite bong in the process. Robbie took two more panicked shots from behind Red and the table; causing her to drop her switchblade as she covered her ears. "Get the ******** out of here, Man!" He hollered, his voice cracking as he cowered behind her. He waved his arm as he yelled, causing the last bullet to hit the lightbulb above them, which shattered. Rose's eyes instinctively closed to prevent glass from falling in them. 'This ******** idiot' she thought to herself as she lay there for a moment. She heard the intruder step somewhere to his left by where her feet lay, so she rolled as quickly and carefully as she could to begin army crawling on her stomach away from the area. Robbie took the opportunity to pick up her fallen knife after throwing the empty pistol at the guy. His robe had come up in the struggle, revealing black underwear that were now sticking uncomfortably to him from the sweat and piss he'd secreted during the initial frenzy. Red stifled a whimper as glass from the lightbulb cut into her arms and stomach, leaving pools of blood on her once white button up and the tank top she'd worn underneath. Robbie was brandishing her knife widely and swearing at the intruder in the dark provided by his blackout curtains over the window. If he could keep the guy distracted long enough, she could make a break for it through the open door to the stairs, and to her car..... ╚══════.♥.═╝ Virtues are written in water
