"If I let you in on my secret, Luc, who's to say you're going to let me cook for you again?" He flashed the other man a soft, teasing grin. He shifted to stretch beneath the table, nudging the other man's shin lightly with the tip of his foot.

"It didn't really take much to talk you into it. I got the impression you liked the idea of having a home cooked meal as opposed to something out of a box or carton... And I know that Cordelia hasn't been taking much time to cook at home, which means she probably hasn't invited you over for dinner either." Things had been busy for everyone. It was just a matter of everything settling into the 'calm before the storm' phase of their lives.

"I have been spending a lot of time here lately, haven't I?" He glanced up at the other man, letting his eyes linger on Luc's face as he popped his fork into his mouth again. He savored the taste while he chewed, swallowing everything down before flashing Luc another teasing smirk of his own.

"Guess I should start giving you a little bit of space. Wouldn't want to spoil you too much with my presence... Or good food, for that matter. You might get too used to it all. Or I might start driving you crazy."

"I didn't say that you said it was a bad thing. I just don't want it to become one." He teased, hoping that it would be obvious enough to Luc that he wasn't worried that it would be. Things were different with their friendship this time around and he hadn't caught himself worrying that Lucien might decide he needed time away.

"Maybe I'll let you in on the recipe by getting you to help me cook next time."

"Hey, hey... If there's one thing I've learned from watching cooking shows, and from spending time with Fiona in the kitchen, it's that it's easier to pick up a new recipe if you're following along while it's being made instead of just reading it off of a page, or a card, or a website." He nudged the other man back, grinning.

"I'll at least settle for being glad that you like the recipe enough to consider making dinners with me a weekly thing." He liked the idea of that. A lot. More than he'd thought he would, actually. It seemed like a good idea-- a right idea.

"We can start off with Sundays, but maybe not every Sunday? I know Cordy's snagged you once or twice for family things. Wouldn't want her on my a** for breaking that routine."

He brought his bottle of water up to his lips, letting it linger there for a moment as he listened to the other man while taking a sip. He couldn't quite explain what he was feeling or what kind of thoughts were starting to kick up. Nothing about the time they'd been spending together reconnecting had really been scheduled or planned out-- Other than yoga, of course, but that was different. That was a class with other people and it didn't involve just the two of them together.

Grabbing dinner. Catching a movie. Heading out for patrol... They were all little, spontaneous things. This? It's just dinner. It's just Luc.

He took another sip of water before setting the bottle down as he reached for a croissant to tear while flashing the other man a grin. "How about we finish up with dinner and discuss what comes next over dessert."
