It's kind of funny in that sense...

Wouldn't it be hypocrytical to denouce that vampires and whatnot exist, yet if that same person worshiped a god?

Not meant to offend people, but that's part of what I am thinking. Belief is a very strong thing indeed.

Sounds sort of like this little story about a university teacher that would somehow prove god didn't exist, and finish with stating that god should be able to stop a piece of chalk from breaking when it hit the floor.
Every year, he destroyed everyone's belief when he would drop the chalk, and it goes *crack*.
One person stood up to him, and when he got mad, he tried to throw it down, it landed in a fold in his pants, rolled off his shoe, and across the floor unharmed. xd
That professor left before the next year started.
Actually, every single person in that story is retarded, because it clearly states in the Bible "Do not test the Lord your God." Christianity has already made a guard against that. Now, a real problem with christianity is that we pray to god to help humanity, but God follows his master will. So why pray, if God isn't gonna listen to you?

Ok first of all, never put down christianity, as I am christian. I attend a small church that is non-denominational. It is based off of the Willow Creek Ministries. So stop that s**t right there.

Secondly Sean, as far as praying goes. It seems you have it totally screwed up. You dont do it to help humanity. I am sure that peopel pray for humanity yes that true, and theres nothign wrong with that. But christians pray to God, to grow closer to him Because in doing so one can understand what he wants you to do. As I agree one should not test the Lord God. As he pushes back I knwo this personally... As for God's "Master Will," what the ******** are you talking about there? The only thign he does, is continue to care for his peopls and love his people which is the human race. So what the ******** kinda master will does he have? Could you possibly explain that to me.

Thirdly, if your goign to discuss soemthignabout a religion, make sure you know what the ******** your talking about first. Even inthe slightest bit alright... twisted

Valdimyr...please try not to be ruled by your emotions. I'm not putting down christianity, I am stating the problems I have with the religion in hopes of getting these clarified. I have asked a couple of priests the same question and they could not give a straight answer.
About the praying thing.... when someone in your church is sick, they ask "pray for me," don't they? That's what I mean when I say humanity - for other humans. Yes, christians pray to God to get closer to him, but most christians I know pray only for themselves or others.
When someone dies, do you know why they died? Is it because God could no longer use his power to keep them alive? Of course not. God allowed them to die because it would help accomplish something on Earth, like allow the deceased' family to grow closer together. That is what I meant by a master will - God's plan for humanity.
Finally-Valdimyr, please do not make assumptions without knowing all the information. I was a very devout Catholic since I was born up until age 16-one year ago. I lost my religion 14 months ago. I have been in catholic school my entire education, and I know more about doctrine and religious matters than most. I prayed every night, read the bible, went to church every sunday, and served as an altar server at church. Don't tell me I know nothing about Christianity.

I still don't see what is wrong with that...
Maybe it could come off as a bit selfish, but that's how some people are, sadly.

stare Personally, I don't think I'm really that counted in the "master will" then...
Sometimes, it feels like I'm going to be the one forgotten, and that's just fine with me.
Not just with death when it comes, mind you, but I feel like I may lead a lonely life, and not be heard about by much.

If I die a premature death, either there was an accident, or it was fate... I guess... but then again, it's random ramblings. I'll stop then. sad

First of all I am not ruled by emotions. Secondly what question ahve you asked priest? I rered the conversation since I came into it and have seen no question. I may have jsut missed it or soemthign, but [please refresh my mind, what question? I understand better what you meant about the praying for humanity thign you siad. but you should learn to generalize thigns a little bi tmore. As the term humanity is a vast thing to say. As for the christians you say you know, who only pray for themselves. Then if you were a christian for so long, then you know as well as I do, that they will find outthe truth when they meet God when they die. As they will not have lived the way God wanted us to live. In my opinion, if they dont get their s**t straight, they will fidn otuthey will rot in hell in the end.

You could have done this and doen that and claimed you wre this and that within the christian religion. But when you get down to it, it means nothing, unless you are doing it and living your life for God. Just because you prayed and read the bible and went to church or served as an alter server at church ultimately means nothing, unless it was for the right reason. I amnot putting you down. But I will warn you, to turn your back on God is to condemn your life to hell in the afterlife. Although God will never stop loving you, neither will he let you into the kingdom of heaven without coming to him and truthfully asking his forgiveness.

With that being said peace out!

Perhaps he's looking for God outside of Church because he doesn't like or believe in the Catholic version of things. I have a friend who's changed churches several times because she didn't feel that she was serving God correctly. He also may not feel that the priests feel God. May his former church had one of those priests that use the higher position of the church for political leverage on the confused people looking for answers. It is entirely possible to turn your back on a church without turning your back on God.

I don't like the idea of a church establishment at all. It creates a mob mentality with that group and they pull the crap they're doing today with all the religious right/Christian coalition bullshit. It's too easily turned into a vessel for bigotry. Not only that, everyone has their own path to God, the journey to Paradise/Heaven/Enlightenment/whatever you want to call it (it's all the same thing, so what's in a name?). I know the church is supposed to help people interpret the Christian Bible so they understand the double meanings and deep symbolism of the Christian Bible so it becomes more than just a fairy tale book. Forexample, there was one passage where some of Jesus' disciples (I think, it's been nearly a year since I heard it, so pardon the technicalities) were fishing and not really catching anything, the Jesus told them to fish off the other side and they pulled in 150 different kinds of fish. The priest then explained that at the people of the time the Christ. Bible was written, they believe that there were only 150 different kinds of fish in the world, and they were a symbol of all the different kinds of people in the world that will be brought underneath Jesus. At first glance, I didn't know that. At first glance I just thought it was one of those silly little stories of Jesus performing some atrbitrary little miracle.

Meh, I'll finish this when I'm not so tired so I can say what I mean without 1) making a fool of myself and 2) accidently offending anybody. I've been very angry with the Christian community for the past year or two and I'm doing my best to remember that it's those bigoted, sinle-minded fundamentalist assholes that are making the entire Christian community look bad, so if I come or came off as negative or prejudice against Christianity, that's why.
Again, I'll finish this later...

Like Talius43 said, It's in the nature of humanity to fear what they don't understand. Like in X-men, everyone feared the mutants because they didn't understand. They never took time to understand who they really were. And like Vampirism, many don't understand so therefore they choose to hate us, bash us, make us feel miserable because they haven't yet understnad who we are.

I've seen TONS of threads on Neopets about vampirism, but most of the vampires on Neopets except the ones in VampireKitten182's guild Vampires of Eternal Night, are likely to be fake. Vampires don't usually go a darn board and shout out their a vampire and tel everything about vampires that isn't even true like for example, saying your a 200 year old vampire when our lifespan is only about a couple years over the average human's lifespan. And by me meaning a couple is about 2 or 3, 4 if your very healthy and so on.

The question I asked the priests of the Catholic Church is the praying one-'why do we pray to sway god's will, if god already has his plan set out in stone?' And I know that some christians do pray just to God to know him better, but typically the accepted definition of praying as I know it is, "asking god for stuff."

Dude- aahhh! I must be screwing everything up with that "master will" stuff. When I say "master will" I mean God's purpose-the "purpose fo reverythign in the world that happens whether we know what it is or not." I mean god's will-his "will is for us to be with him in heaven at the end of lives after death, or when the rapture shall come." The word "master" only described God's will as being the will above all others, just as god is above all others. I'm sorry to have caused this huge misunderstanding.

ok....The only reason I am bringing up the stuff about just recently being a devout christian is the prove that I DO know what I am talking about as far as God matters go. I'm not just an atheist from birth that is putting down something he does not understand, as most people do with vampires. and yes, I know that I am turning my back on god. Thanks for the warning, I understand your obligation to try to turn me around, but no thanks. heh.
