Ruuben looked away from Caleb, his eyes were still shut. He was in utter denial that the teen knew about his abilities, but he hoped that even if Caleb knew nobody might believe him, anyway. He liked to think that, but the younger one was a stranger so how could be possibly know? But still, back when Reima confronted him about his "weirdness", Ruuben felt threaten no matter how he trusted his brother. He shouldn't be, but still...

When he listened to Caleb, he didn't say anything. He was right, Ruuben never liked being in the limelight, he didn't want to be the center of attention, and the worst of all was being feared. But the way the teen was saying it was as if Ruuben and he were in the same page, so the Finn slowly turned his head to him and looked at him with skepticism. "How could you possibly get it?" He asked with a whisper, sounding suspicious, "You... You don't say you have... You know?" He didn't want to say 'power' as the two of them were now walking in the streets of Gotham. Did he have telepathy like him? Clairvoyance? Empathy? Something else?

Being so scared of what he could do and that someone would find out, he would literally lock himself away. It was almost therapeutic when he finally mustered up the courage to tell Rodge and Allen. Like an entire weight being lifted off his shoulders. Maybe one day he'll have the courage to tell his aunt, but not right now. In a way, he found it kind of amusing. He is able to keep the biggest secret of his life away from a freaking police detective.

The teen let loose a sigh, knowing what he had to do to convince this guy to believe him. He took a look around, to make sure that no one else was watching him. Even reached out with his telepathy just to make sure that the only one close by was Ruuben. With that all said and done, he looked back over at the trash can that he threw earlier to get the thugs off of Ruuben. He raised his hand slightly and concentrated until the can was once again levitating about 3 feet in the air. From there he made the can move back to its original spot in the alleyway, setting it down with a soft clang, and looking back at the Finn.

"For...over half a year now, I've had telekinesis...and also telepathy. I've kept them secret to everyone, save for two close friends...and you now. And slowly over time, I've discovered that the more I use them, the stronger those abilities become and it scares the sh*t out of me..." Caleb looked down, almost in shame, waiting for the other's reaction to his revelation.

Ruuben looked at Caleb, speechless as he watched him perform what Ruuben (or rather, Forde) could actually do. So, he did felt that his secret could be safe as well. Wait, but he did hear a loud clang when he was beaten up by the thieves, did it mean. "I..." He began to speak, "So you're... You really are like me, then?" However, he could not help but feel sorry for the young man as well, having powers younger than twenty-three.

He was starting to feel a bit of empathy when Caleb spilled the beans about what he was, which sounded unfair of him. Ruuben supposed that he was obliged to share his own as well, so he did. "I, um..." he stammered, "I got these stuff last year, back when I was in Europe with my father... And, it was..." Ruuben was beginning to recall the explosion, the car accident, the possession, everthing that happened that forced him to shut his eyes again, "Sorry, I don't want to talk about it. But, I have those as well, I read feelings, probably thoughts, when I touch someone. I move things- Except, my hearing, it's screwed- no, it's just ******** up." He couldn't even stand in crowds, he could no longer even visit Reima's live gigs anymore to support him. However, he couldn't figure why Forde wasn't saying anything nor doing a single commentary right, probably because she was smirking that he was finally not-lying.

Shaking his head, he continued, "I didn't tell anyone about it, but my brother did. But that's it." He didn't even want to tell his parents, also his younger brother Riku. He knew how logical thinkers his mother and Riku were- she is a dentist, and Riku is currently aiming to be in the medical field. They would probably just accuse him as 'insane'. His father? He wasn't sure, but he felt that Ruuben was just going to make him think that all of it was his fault for inviting him in that relic site. It wasn't even his fault, the archaeologist had no idea that there was a haunted spirit trapped in a chest.

And he was pondering abot one thing, should he even tell him that he was possessed by an ancient spirit of a sorceress?

However, why would he think it would go poorly? If this guy was like him, which he knew, it probably would've been a relief for him to find others like him. But yet again, Caleb didn't know his life.

The teen simply nodded when Ruuben said he didn't want to talk about his whole origin story. He can relate. Once he thought about it, how he got his powers was pretty stupid as well. Or was it more of a fact that he was stupid. Who in their right mind would just approach some suspicious space...thing and touch it. A kid who was high on marijuana and alcohol apparently...

Caleb then took another look around, making sure no one was watching them before turning back towards Ruuben. "We should probably get a move on. Don't want to draw any suspicion." They probably look like they're doing a drug trade to anyone passing by. No need to have the cops involved anymore than necessary. Not that he has a thing against cops, his aunt is one, but that doesn't mean he likes running into them.

Ruuben sighed in utter relief when he finally get it out of this chest, even if he kind of witheld some details but hey, he could have this own share of secrets. One thing he was eternally grateful for Caleb was that at least, he didn't ask him about his "origin" story. How he got his own powers could be qualified as unbelievable, and it might qualify as a thriller movie. As a professional bookworm, he knew.

"Yeah, we don't want another crim to cross onto us again." Ruuben said, actually he was more concerned of staying here and giving criminals some oppotunity than meeting the police. He didn't mean to sound like a snooty European but then again, he didn't think Finnish police were the same as American ones.

As they were turning and leaving the alley, there were now on the streets of Gotham. The cold winter wind was blowing onto them, though Ruuben was used to it that it didn't really phase him. Finland has cold winters and it always start early, and sometimes the coldness doesn't even stop at March. He kept his head down, still biting his lower lip while pretending that his injuries weren't that bad. There was a moment of awkward silence, unsure of that he should say now that they figured out at each other that they have powers, "So... um," He started off, but naturally he still kept the low voice that only the two of them were able to hear what he was talking about, "You said you have telepathy, right? Was it the type that it only works when you're touching someone, or something that's like sensing people? I mean, you didn't find me there by chance, did you?"

As soon as they stepped out of the alley, he noticed that the wind started to pick up and small flurries of snow started to appear, steadily getting stronger. He heard rumours of a snow storm that might happen later that night. He just hoped that he could get home in time before it starts getting really bad. Luckily, he wasn't too far from his house. Only about a couple of blocks from here.

To break the somewhat awkward silence, Caleb was about to say something but was beaten to the chase by Ruuben's question. Frankly, it wasn't really something that he was expecting, catching him off guard and causing him to pause a little bit before continuing. Normally, his powers aren't something he like to talk about to just anyone, but he already dug himself this grave so he might as well lay in it.

"Well uh...yes and no. For just like surface thoughts, no. I just need to be in that same vicinity as the other person. It just appears as voices in my head. I can also talk to other people like that, in their heads..." he explained. "But for deeper, for lack of a better term, mind meld...like seeing their memories, altering their thoughts and what not, then yes I do need to be touching the person." But as of lately, he was starting to discover that he was starting to be able to do more without needing to touch the person. He knew his powers were still pretty much fresh out of the box, so he would suspect that they would grow.

"Oh...and no, I didn't sense you. I guess I could've if I wanted to, but I just heard a bunch of yelling and decided to investigate."

Ruuben just looked at Caleb casually and just silently listened to him, then mouthed with an 'ah' sound in the end. He wasn't one to comment about the teen's powers so, like, he would just prefer to shut up considering how awkward Caleb looked like when he asked that question. Yikes.

Speaking of powers, no matter how Forde told about the extent of her powers, Ruuben was certain that he just didn't tap into it yet. But then again, that was just because he spent many months suppressing it, which was pissing the spirit off internally. He only used telekinesis if he was reaching out for something in their penthouse, or apartment... Whatever. But to be fair, he was certain that he already mastered the insufferable hearing, he guessed.

'No, you don't' The witch flatly commented all the sudden, 'Back when I was alive, my hearing that much well-controlled than you. And that's because unlike you, I don't shove everything in the mound.'

For a moment, Ruuben thought that yes, that was technically correct. But on the other hand, he wouldn't bury it six feet underground IF he were to live in Forde's era... Assuming there were no witch burnings, that is. Also, where could one even find people like Forde and him? Anywhere, probably it might require traveling via a portal or some ritual. It's magic, after all.

He looked down again embarrassed when Caleb actually found him because of the yelling, at one hand it sounded as if Ruuben's yelling did it's part- But somehow he felt it was embarrassing to pull something like that. As they turn in the street's corner, something ringing came from Ruuben's shoulderbag. And that specific messaging ringtone was for his brother's because that ringtone was one of the songs Reima wrote. Ruuben had to admit, but his brother was kinda really good at singing though he didn't say that much all the time lest that it might fill the ego.

He opened his phone to read the text message and as expected, Reima was getting impatient:

"Hei, missä olet nyt? Se myöhä ja saan vaikutelman, että olet saada murhattu! (Hey, where are you right now? It's getting late and I'm getting the impression that you're getting murdered!)"

"Oh nice, here we go again." Ruuben muttered as he rolled his eyes, he pressed some letters on the phone's screen telling him that he was on his way to the hospital, but didn't say what happened to him. Honestly, he wished that Reima didn't take it very seriously- except, given that he replies really fast in messaging, he did. Welp, he just dug his own grave right there.

"I think it's kinda unfair of me to ask you about your stuff, so uh... I think, feel free to ask me anything so that we can have a fair deal?" Ruuben asked Caleb, feeling a bit guilty for asking him about his powers, and he didn't need to do his telepathy to know where it was going.

Given the current context of the situation and the annoyed muttering, the teen could safely assume that someone was wondering where he was. He's no stranger to that. His Aunt Karen, being a police detective and all (specifically for homicides), tends to get a little paranoid about his safety. To be fair, she has seen a lot of sh*t that happens to people walking alone at night in Gotham. But he did let her know that he would be out late and that he would call her as soon as he got home. Plus, she said that she would be working late tonight, something about the Mount Everest of paper work she has to finish filling out.

"Is uh...someone going to meet you at the hospital?" he asked. Caleb wanted to know that when he did leave to finally head home that Ruuben had someone else looking after him. Would kinda be a d**k move to just ditch him at the hospital, after all he's been through.

The teen looked over at Ruuben. "I won't ask anything you don't feel comfortable talking about. Its fine, I get it. I just...kinda got excited about meeting someone like me...ya know?" Caleb looked back up and saw the hospital in front of them, getting closer.

Location: Park Row/Crime Alley
With: Ruuben
Thoughts: Okay, to the hospital then straight home. No need to give Karen an aneurysm.
OOC: Okay, we can skip to the hospital now if ya wants.

"Yeah, apparently." Ruuben grumbled in response when Caleb asked about who was texting him a few minutes ago. "It's my brother. He asked me where I was, then I told him that we're on our way here, and then he assumed that something happened to me so he's on his way there." Okay, sure, he kind of appreciated Reima's concern but for him, it was starting to sound in a sense that he was helpless. The bad thing was, Ruuben didn't want to feel like he's burdening his brother, yet here they were. And one more impression was that his brother's protectiveness level doubled after the car accident and it tripled after he discovered that Ruuben became something else that involved magic.

Despite the physical pain, he chuckled at the teen's remark. "It's good to know, then. I haven't met anyone like me, 'til now, anyway. Still, I think I won't mind if you ask me anything, it's still only fair." Actually, it makes him feel that he's not as a black sheep as he thought to be.

As the two of them arrived at the hospital's ER, after they had talked to the check-in desk and had his vitals taken, they were now in the waiting area for a bit as they were supposed to get the room ready since Ruuben assumed that tonight was kind of a busy one. But then, he felt like Gotham's hospital was always busy to start with. He sat down, finally because he felt that it must be a long distance. It must be a miracle that he didn't black out despite the injuries and the noise he had to endure, Caleb would have to suffer in the process.

He shut his eyes off again as he was trying not to mind the noisy setting. Ruuben clutched on his broken arm, trying not to wince so that he won't make himself look miserable. Opening his green eyes again and looking at Caleb, he gave another tired smile, "Hey, I want to say thank you for helping me," he said weakly, "I feel like that I owe you something, but since I can't anything as of now..." He then pulled out his wallet from his jean's pocket and pulled out his Graphic Design calling card, then handed it to the teen, "And yes, I'm actually a Graphic Designer, no big deal. But I think if you need help, I think you can call me anytime. Sounds like a fair deal?" Even if Caleb would say that there was no need, he supposed that Ruuben would have to insist either way. He saved him, so someday he might save him in return, right?

"Well, no offence, but something did happen to you." he said with a little bit of light-heartedness in his voice, hopefully to lift Ruuben's mood a little bit. He could tell that his companion was less than thrilled to go to the hospital, but its something that had to happen if he didn't want to hurt himself any further.

The teen smiled a little when Ruuben returned the sentiment. Caleb found it relieving that he net someone like him. It helped get rid of some the isolation that he felt, knowing that he wasn't the only one anymore. "You said something about hearing...you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but I guess I'm just curious on whats that about." Telepathy and telekinesis were pretty standard enough, but the hearing bit threw him for a loop. He guessed it wasn't fair for him to compare every meta he meets to him, even though he's the only example he really has to work with. Like normal people, he suppose, every metahuman was different from one another.

When they finally entered the hospital, he helped Ruuben get checked in. The staff at the front desk asked for his name, address, phone number, health insurance info, and emergency contacts. After Ruuben explain his injuries, being that they weren't life threatening and that the hospital was pretty busy as it is, the nurse at the front desk told him to wait in the waiting area and someone will call for him as soon as a doctor was free. The two then sat down in the area. Caleb decided that he should wait for Ruuben's brother to show up before he heads back home.

The teen looked back over to Ruunber when he addressed him. "Dude, its okay. You don't own me anything." He would feel guilty for taking anything from the Finn. He was fully expecting that he would offer some money, but he handed Caleb a card with his contact info instead, telling him that he can call him anytime. Caleb couldn't help but smile at that. "Alright, deal." With that, he slipped the card in his pocket.

"Fair enough." Ruuben muttered in comment at Caleb's light-hearted remark, but he tried not to look as if he was unamused. Look, he has a reason why he wasn't a fan of hospital waaaay before the car accident. Ruuben never liked the smell and the first thought that came to him was a place for someone to not-die, also, he wasn't very much of a fan of meds and the smell. He was silent with a contemplative look for a moment when being asked about his... hearing condition, "Well, my hearing is kinda above-average? I can hear almost everything, a pin drop or something like that. But, there's a reason why I no longer like loud crowds, you get what I mean?" Then he shrugged, "Also, it's kind of like a magic thing, so I guess some might me a psychic?"

'From your definition of 'psychic', that is very not what I am.' Forde finally grumbled with an unamused tone, which Ruuben tried to ignore and tried to focus on their way.

Ruuben felt that he's making the teen guilty for, like, helping him. Unless Caleb was thinking that he might give him money, which was not something he would give since he hadn't gotten his paycheck yet. However, he felt relieved that Caleb smiled the moment he handed a calling card instead. Honestly, Ruuben would feel very taken back if someone offered him money for helping out, sounded like some bounty hunter or maybe a mercenary, which sounded out of character of him.

Another contact-specific ring came from his phone once again, the brunette picked it and answered it before putting it on his ear saying, "Hei, Reima?"

"Olen sairaalassa, missä olet nyt? " Reima answered a tad hastily as if he's in a hurry, which made Ruuben to look slowly from left and right, which tempted him to wince again in the process.

"Mene odotustila, olen täällä. " Goddammit, these broken glasses of his, he wished that his brother brought a spare for him but he very much doubt that. Also, he hadn't mastered his focus hearing yet, so it was redonk. Also, he could hear his brother from the phone muttering "Come on, come on" nervously.

A minute later or less, a tall brunette man in his late twenties rushed in in the hall from the distance as if he was looking for someone. He has brown hair like Reima's, but shorter and has a cyan streak on his fringe. He was also wearing ear piercings and a lower lip ring on the side, but it didn't really make him look scary at all. He was also holding a phone on his ear as well, until his dark blue eyes set on Ruuben. The man turned out to be Reima Korhonen, a man someone who was into rock music would recognize due to him being a musician, and also Ruuben's older brother.

"Ben!" Reima exclaimed as he rushed to him, and so Ruuben braced himself as if expecting a smack on the face (not really). Reima put his hand on his younger brother's shoulder and went to say "En aio kysyä, jos olet kunnossa, koska et todellakaan ole! Voi luoja, mitä tapahtui? " See? Just like their mother.

"Rei, it's fine. He sanoivat se ei ole hengenvaarallinen, kunnossa? "

"Kerro tuo äiti, veli. " Reima countered back sternly, which made Ruuben sighed in defeat. As he looked over to Caleb with a look of apology, it made Reima looked over to where his brother was looking to.

Reima blinked at the teen, then remembered that his younger brother mentioned something that he had someone with him via text messaging. "Ah, sorry about that." The older brother blushed in embarrassment as he put his hand away from Ruuben's shoulder, arguing infront of a stranger sounded a bit too bad.

"Veli, meet Caleb and he's with me, so quit embarrassing yourself." Ruuben frowned at Reima in English, as he adjusted his seat trying not to fold his arms due to a fractured bone. If there was a difference between the two of them, Reima was the one who was the chivalrous one who would probably go vigilante-mode if he found out that his brother got hurt, he suppose.

Clearing his throat, Reima straightened himself out and began to speak, albeit a bit sheepish, "Sorry, my bad. And um... Thanks for being with my brother. I'm Reima, by the way." And just in time, the doctor came in asking for a person named Ruuben, in which the person he was looking for nodded in acknowledgement. But before Ruuben could stand up, he smiled at Caleb again, "We hope we didn't interrupt you if you're in your way to somewhere else, but thank you again. Hope you make use of the calling card, yes?"

Having powers that one can't fully control is no new territory for Caleb. For weeks, he was constantly hearing other people's thoughts or making things fly across the room with little to no control. Can you even imagine the type of awkward silence he earned by correctly answering a question before the teacher even asks it? Lets just say, for the rest of the day, people gave him a wide berth. Luckily, he's gotten better at controlling his powers over time. But occasionally he does slip up.

Caleb let Ruuben answer his phone, saying a few things in Finnish before hanging up. It wasn't long after that until when a man, whom Caleb naturally assumed to be Ruuben's brother showed up. He can kinda see the resemblance. Same hair color, similar facial structure, but thats where the similarities ended. Given the coloured hair, piercings, and being taller than his companion.

As the siblings spoke to each other, the teen stayed a respectable distance away. Even though he had no idea what they were saying to each other, he still didn't want to give them the idea that he was listening into their discussion.

Caleb shrugged a little bit "Don't worry about it, and its good to meet you Reima." When the doctor came in and asked for Ruuben, Caleb took it as his cue to leave. "Hey listen, it was nice meeting you both, even if it was under unfortunate circumstances, but I should probably get going. Its pretty late...so uh..." The teen started awkwardly shuffling towards the door, like he was unsure of what he was doing. "Hope we uh...meet up again some time. And yeah, I'll make use of it...so...see ya." With that, Caleb finally made his way out of the hospital.
