+ VOLUNTEERING + Amsterdam Captain Kruel gave the orders to split crews and went in search of her quartermaster (an individual who would certainly not be allowed to leave on the frigate) to consult on how long the reduced supplies would last. Ghiki Gabriella goes over to Captain Kruel, "I volunteer to be the Frigate's commanding officer, since someone has to make sure none of the others decide to steal the ship." She waits for the Captains approval, before she will go onto the Frigate. Kieko Having heard what Gabriella said to the captain, a young woman with auburn hair and green eyes, also approached Captain Kruel. She seemed to appear from the lower decks of the ship and most likely many of the crew members had not seen her before. During their last stop in Divvytown, she offered her assistance to become a crew member.
As she stood before the Captain Kruel, she bowed politely to show her respect towards the captain. "I would also be willing to help man the ship," She said gently, her voice much softer than one would imagine. As she awaited an answer, she glanced towards the other female beside her. The two of them had not faught in the last battle and Aurora felt she owed it to the captain to aid in selling the ship. She wondered if Gabriella felt the same, or only lusted for payment. Ghiki Gabriella looks over to the other girl, wondering who she is and when she got on the ship. Besides that she wonders why the girl would want to also go onto a partially blood-stained ship back to Divvytown, just to sell the ship.
Gabriella didn't feel as if she owed anyone enything really, she is the second mate and she does have other thing to do than chop at Spanish Merchants. She feels a need to make sure the Frigate makes it to Divvytown, and gets sold, no little ships boy is going to steal that ship and pretend to be a captain. Dragain Fawkes' ears perked up at what the Captain had said, and hurried over from the decks. He smiled charmingly at her, "I would be willing to go as well, but not as to be the head of the ship. I will go to help. Besides, going to Divvytown would help as I've damaged my jacket in the last battle..."
He smiled at the two females politely, and gave them each a brief nod. The damaged jacket was hung over his bare shoulders, and he waited for the Captain's reply with a small grin. Ghiki Gabriella looks over again and sees another crew member come to volunteer, she thinks to herself, *Wow, this is a little strange* but doesn't say anything about it. Amsterdam At the sound of so many requests, Katherine's eyes flare with suspicion. Just as expected, more than a enterprising young pirates would leap at this opportunity to make some extra gold and perhaps stage a minor mutiny.
Nevertheless, she trusted Gabriella to keep the brats in line. The spanish beauty wasn't second mate for nothing; her history with Katherine went back a long and bloody way.
"Very well. I expect you out of my sight before dusk. Any further requests are to be handled by the mate."
With one last forbidding glare, the captain stalked off. Ghiki Gabriella nods to the Captain, "Alright, Fawkes, and uhh..." Gabriella doesn't know the name of the new girl, "and your name is?" she asks. She tries to know the names of the other crew, though she doesn;t mind calling them other things if needed. Kieko Aurora shifts her gaze back to the captain, paying no mind to the awkward looks from the second mate. It did not matter so much to get on the good sides of the other crew members, what she felt was most important, was remaining loyal and proving her worth upon the ship. Having been a bar maid since she was just a young girl, Aurora did not ever feel she was good enough to become something and since she had gained the chance, she was not going to let it get away.
As she continued to wait for a response, a strange purple haired male approached the growing group. It did not surprise her that he wished to head to Divvytown as well. It was not solely the fact that they were selling the ship that appealed to the female, it was the fact that she was doing something that needed to be done, as well as relaxing for a brief moment until they returned. When the male spoke of mending his jacket, she couldn't help but giggle. It was amusing to think that a pirate would worry about their clothing. She wondered if the male was interested in other males and cocked her brow awkwardly at the thought.
When the captain spoke, she snapped back to attention and nodded. The expressions Captain Kruel wore were not those of trust and she felt uncomfortable to think that already, she was distrusted. A dulled expression was all she would express of her emotions. More quietly than before, she answered Gabriella, "Aurora Flynn."

The Twentifourth of March, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
It is amazing that nearly as soon as I join crew of The Dementia, I am already leaving again. Not for good, of course, but I've seemed to volunteer myself for the temporary crew upon the frigate. I met the second in command and I can't say i'm too impressed. She's given me reason, however, to aim for captain one day. I can't say I ever have plans of over throwing Ms. Kruel, I just wish to earn the position for myself. I suppose I could settle for 1st mate, so long as I could rub it in the wenches face!
Anyhow, Gabriella Montez is leading Fawkes Fowl, the other pirates and myself. This is bound to be an interesting trip.

+ BOARDING THE FRIGATE + Ghiki Gabriella wonders why Aurora said her name so quietly, "I was going to say, Fawkes and Aurora, get on the Frigate and pick yourselves your beds, Once we get a few more people we will sail off to Divvytown!"
Gabriella goes and boards the Frigate and goes to look over the Captains Quarters. Dragain "Glad you still remember my name!" Fawkes laughed softly and winked at Gabriella. He turned to the new female, his eyes studying her for a moment, before realising that he had never seen her around before. He smiled at her, "Hello, Aurora... A beautiful name for a beautiful lady. As you've heard, my name is Fawkes."
He tuned back at Gabriella and asked, "So, have you any idea the time we might be setting off?" He blew away his fringe as they dropped over his eyes, and looked at the slightly damaged ship. He could smell blood faintly from it as he boarded it. Ghiki "Not yet, Fawkes. But, once you have picked your bed, take about 1/5 of the food from the kitchen. That should be able to keep a small crew alive until we get to Divvytown." She also notices the distinct smell of blood coming from the wooden ship, she then enters the Captains quarters to find the Dead Spanish Captain still in the chamber, with his head blown off, "Umm, Aurora! Try and clean up this mess while I go get some other things." Dragain "Ah, got that." He smiled and nodded, before looking into the Captain's quarter. What he saw inside made his eyes widen, before he shook his head and laughed softly, "Well, at least he died a quick, and hopefully painless, death."
Turning to Aurora, the young man asked softly, "Do you need my help?" He grinned and ran a hand through his hair. "We won't be setting off too soon, anyway." Ghiki "I even know who killed him, It was Rachel, our Master-at arms. I just wonder why he was never taken out of the room..." She walks back onto the Dementia to get a few things, "and Fawkes... come get the food from the kitchen that I told you to get." Dragain "Alright then, I'll see you then, Aurora." He mused, following the Second Mate out back onto the Dementia. "I shall go collect some food. May I know what you else you want me to collect from the kitchen? Anything specific to eat for this trip?" Ghiki "There should already be stuff put out for you to take, so just take that, and make sure to grab some plates, knives, and forks..." Gabriella gows into a room only for the Officers and grabs a Dementia Flag, "there, cant sail a ship without it's owners flag on it." She goes back onto the Frigate and begins to raise the small flag. Kieko Aurora crosses her arms and approaches the frigate. Before she can get very far she hears the voice of the male behind her. His compliment seems to have no affect on her and she speaks more boldly in response, "It's nice to meet you Fawkes." After that, however, she turned around and continued towards the ship.
This was her first time viewing the carnage that had seemed to take place and with a quiet grimace, she approaches the cabins. They are still filled with their owners previous belongings and Aurora feels slightly out of place. As a pirate, she would need to get used to taking over other ships, but a part of her can't let go of the fact that her own crew was the reason for these people's deaths.
As the second in command demands her to clean the mess in the captain's chambers, she seems not too thrilled to obey. Approaching the chambers, she feels her stomach lurch. Frustration builds inside her as she looks over the mess. What would give Gabriella the impression that she would be the one to do this sort of chore? An angered expression remains on her face as she grabs ahold of the dead captain's leg and begins to drag him out and onto the deck. Fawke's offer for assistance isn't heard over her mumbling. As she brings the body, a trail of blood follows behind her. Once she's neared the edge of the ship, she breaths out, lifts the body and tosses it overboard. The mess on the decks could be left to another pirate, she decided.

The Twentifourth of March, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
The frigate is actually called El Pajaro Azul, which I oddly recognise as meaning The Blue Bird. It's odd that learning more of the ship can increase ones guilt of over-taking it. Such a beautiful name must have been choosen by one other than the spanish captain. Possibly a love interest?
It's also sad to see how horrible of a shape the ship seems to be in now. No longer does it look like a graceful blue bird, but possibly a dying raven or something more appropriate. Blood stains the decks and some dead bodies are still scattered about. I can only imagine the chores Gabriella has planned for me.

+ CHOOSING BED SPACES + Dragain Fawkes was surprised to see that they were already setting off for Divvytown, and also the fact that there was someone scrubbing the blood-stained decks. He thought that none of the pirates would even bother to do that at all.
Remembering that he had yet to choose a place to sleep. He was certain that there must be a good cabin somewhere on this ship, and with that in mind, Fawkes climbed down the stairs into the lower decks of the Frigate. Taking a good look around, he chose a nice bed. One of the few without blood stains on it, it is rather sturdy as well.
"This'll do just fine..." Ghiki Gabriella goes to the pirates she got to move the boarding plank about 3 hours ago, "You two, go and help clean the main deck!" She then goes to see how Fawkes and Aurora were doing.
She enters the crew quarters, and sees about half the beds covered in blood, "lovely..." she says to herself, wondering what poor sap was going to end up cleaning those beds. She turns her head and sees Fawkes trying out one of the beds, she realizes, she found her poor sap...
"Fawkes, try cleaning these beds," she says, feeling as if she is already over-working her crew. Dragain "What? By myself? Can't Aurora help?" Fawkes whined, a silly grin on his face. He was just joking, as seen by the grin, although the thought of working on the sheets alone wasn't pleasant. He nodded and placed down his jacket on the bed he had chose before cracking his knuckles.
"Time to work..." He muttered to himself, pulling out the sheets one by one. The smell of blood was a little heavy, and Fawkes couldn't help by think that some poor souls must have been resting or even sleeping when they had attacked.
He wiped away some of his sweat with his hand, and looked at the pile of bloody sheets that had gathered at the center of the room. Sighing, he continued his assigned work, trying to think positively. Ghiki After cleaning his large part of the deck, he goes down to help Fawkes with the beds, since he over-heard the commanding officer tell Fawkes to clean the blood soaked beds. "Need a hand chap?" He asks with a small grin."Get some sleep, there is just the beds to be done and I know Fawkes and your other comrade can handle it," she tells him and goes to the other side of the deck.Hearing what Gabriella said, he finishes his chunk of the deck, making the deck looks practically spotless. "I will go and get some rest too," he tells himself and goes down to the bed chambers. Dragain Fawkes smiled, "Thank you! With your help, we can get some sleep sooner!" He laughed softly as he pulled out more sheets, pushing them to a messy pile. He stretched himself, determined to get some shut eye soon. Kieko After dragging away the dead captain's body, Aurora turns back and looks about at the other members of the crew. None of them seemed familiar, but that was not unusual considering how little she knew of the others on the ship she so recently boarded. It already seemed as if they had been sailing for weeks, though she was certain that wasn't entirely true.
Sighing softly, she watched as the purple haired male walked past her and towards the lower decks. Gabriella had ordered them to find a place for rest during the night, but it did not concern Aurora very much. She was curious, however, as to why Fawkes seemed so obediant towards the woman who continually barked orders towards them. Hand on her hip, she followed him down, looking about the small cabin he chose. Speaking of the devil, she thought as their temporary captain entered the same chambers. Another order was quickly barked and, so kindly, Fawkes volunteered Aurora for the position. A cocked brow displayed her utter annoyance that he might do that to her. Cracking her own knuckles, however, showed that she would do so anyhow.
She was silent as she worked, cleaning to the best of her ability, or what she made appear to be that. Her eyes would occassionally dart in the two males directions, but never for a long moment of time. After a short period of time, which could have felt like eternity, the woman chose the bed opposite Fawke's and fell back onto it quietly. It will be a long night, she thought as the scent of blood filled her nose.

The Twentininth of March, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
The first days work went over only so well. I can't say i'm responding too well to Gabriella's orders, but that is only to be expected.
In Divvytown I worked, since my much younger years, as a bar maid. I was self-employed, so the speak, and never needed to listen to anyone, unless they have gold pieces to pay. Having not gone into battle just yet, I haven't seen any dubloons and I suppose I may be growing weary. Or I could possibly just dislike the woman and I am certain over time she'll understand this. Or, she'll keep her distance, which I would much prefer.
As I write, I can hear the soft breathing of the male beside me and I can only wonder why he joined the frigate. He seems to be with or around me constantly and i'm surprised he has not bothered me all too much. I can't help but admit that his purple locks are quite attractive.

The Fourth of April, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
The night was certainly long, though it was nothing unsual to the sleep I often have. Th' morning began horridly as we were awakened by Gabriella' awful voice. She would be an incredibly abnoxious captain and I fear I would have no choice, but to begin a mutiny.
I fear my words are the words of a tired, worn out, young woman. I may be slightly melodramatic at the moment.

+ VOLUNTEERING TO SELL THE SHIP + Kieko Aurora nodded and began in the direction of the pub, until a sudden idea came over her. They would have plenty of time before the other ship met them there. Before having herself drift away in the bottle, she figured aiding with the sale of the ship would get her on the good side of the captain. It had little to do with her fondness of Gabriella, as it was clear Aurora was not fond of her, but the moment did not seem right to return to the pub, which she once called her home.
Walking quickling behind Gabriella, she shouted out, "Captain!-" She merely gagged upon saying that, "Allow me to aid in selling the ship! I'm sure I can help talk someone into purchasing it!" Ghiki Gabriella sighs, "Fine, You can help..." She turns around and looks directly at Aurora, "and dont call me captain... I'm not a captain, yet at least." she turns back around and smirks. Kieko As Gabriella turned to face Aurora, the young former bar-maiden could not keep herself from folding her arms and watching her speaker. With the quick remark towards the end, she retorted herself, "It would be a pleasure, second in command.." It was almost disrespectful in a sense, though the title fit Gabriella's position on the ship accurately. Usually she would be called a 1st mate, but truly her position is below Katherine and Aurora wished to remind her of that.
After she spoke, she continued after Gabriella, looking about the town as the two of them walked. In the back of her mind, she wondered if Fakes was planning to catch up with the two of them. Ghiki Gabriella flinches for a second... "My position is Second Mate, dont forget it.. And, get your butt into Divvytown..." She goes into the Captain's Cabin then slams the door behind her. Dragain Fawkes briefly heard Aurora's and Gabriella's little talk, but he remained quiet as he packed up. Hearing the door slam, he climbed up onto the main deck and nodded at Aurora, offering her a small smile, "Well, I personally don't know her well, but since she is the second mate, she must have gotten here through effort."
With that, he hopped down from the ship, and strolled away into the town. He looked around, and resisted going into any of the bars, instead heading off to a lone shop at the corner of the street directly facing the docked frigate. Kieko Aurora scowls at the door as her present-commander had shut it. It did not bother her to return to Divvytown, but she had been certain she could sell the ship with ease. As unsocial as she may have been, in the rigth situation, Aurora could talk herself out of, or into anything she pleased.
Upon hearing Fawke's statement, Aurora growled, "Effort?" It bothered her that the one male that had showed her patience was already growing annoyed with her. Crossing her own arms, she turned and began towards Divvytown on her own. Unlike, Fawkes, she had nothing to carry with her. When her bar had burned down, it took each and every one of her possessions with it. She would have no photos of her family, nor anything else that could bring back a memory. All the better, she thought to herself, it would only bring pain anyhow.

The Fifth of April, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
Gabriella has left me in order to sell The Pajaro Azul. I can't help but grumble to myself as she so kindly allowed me to aid her and then left to where I could not follow. I suppose the wench did me a favor and allowed me to be ridden o' her presence!
Fawkes, like Gabriella, has already realised i'm not crazy about the second in command. I can't say I care.. too much.. but I believe already I have lost whatever friendship I may have had with the boy. That.. I suppose.. may be a good thing as well?

+ RETURNING TO DIVVYTOWN + Dragain Fawkes saw Aurora walking into the town through the large glass window of the shop he was currently in. He leaned against the wall, and pondered for a moment before smiling at the tailor. Talking his shirt, the young man left the shop and strolled quickly towards Aurora's direction.
"Why? You angry with me?" He teased as he tried to catch up, several paces behind her, "Or are you just annoyed at Gabriella?" He raised an eye brow at the last sentence, rather surprised at himself for saying all that, especially the first part of this sentence. Kieko Aurora's arms remained crossed as Fawkes managed to catch up with her. It didn't bother her any further to hear his questions, though she was not certain it would do any good to answer. After all, she honestly had no good reason to be frustrated, it was just in her nature. Pointing in the direction of the bar, she spoke quietly, "Care to join me for a drink?" The young woman nearly stuttered her words as she spoke, feeling slightly awkward inviting the male to follow her. More often than not she preferred to be alone.
To keep her cheeks from turning pink, she began without him, walking slowly in case he wished to catch up. Her long auburn hair fall slightly in front of her face to better hide her cheeks. Dragain Fawkes blinked, rather surprised at the invitation, and nodded before replying, "Sure, why not?"
He quickened his pace, following Aurora into the bar. He was urging for a drop of alcohol anyway. Besides, there was nothing else to do in this town except to get some drinks. Once back on the sea, drinks will have to wait. Kieko Aurora was not shocked by Fawke's expression to her invitation. Her gentle words alone were more kindness than she had shown him yet. Following the male, she entered the tavern. The lights were dim and not many resided inside as it was still quite early in the day. Breathing in, Aurora smiled faintly. As unattractive as the appearance and smell may have been, it was what the female had grown quite used to. In fact, she enjoyed it due to many of its memories it reminded her of.
Sitting onto a tall stool, she leaned over onto the counter and eyed the bartender with an adorable expression. After a few winks, she had a drink sliding in her direction, free of charge. A quiet giggle left her mouth and afterwards she looked to Fawkes. As she looked him over, it suddenly occured to her that she had entirely no idea as to what to say to him. Never had the two spoken for longer than a moment and now that they were both alone, she felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Her hazel eyes suddenly darted to her glass and soon she tipped it into her mouth, downing a good half. As she drank, she did not notice the strange woman watching the two of them from behind her coconut drink. Caitlyn Hellstorm Alexandra visibly rolls her eyes when she sees the bartender allowing the woman she have been watching for the last few minutes have a free drink. The bartender leans in to Alexandra when she beckoned him then she swiftly grabs collar of his shirt, hissing veonomously in his ear, "That woman is a wench, you better price her or I will tell my father what you did" But like usual, the bartender doesn't listen to her and he yanks his shirt away from Alexandra, glaring at her while he walks back to tend to the customers. "Fine...." She says in soft yet cheerful voice as she pulls out a very small dart she fashioned from the wood and metal scraps, throwing it swiftly at bartender's butt striking him right there. "Mmm.... whoops?" She mutters before she sips some of her coconut drink, her eyes looking around the tavern to make sure nobody is screaming for her blood since she was being obivious while striking him with the dart. She brushes some of the pirates' come hither looks that is being aimed toward her and theres whispers in her ears from rum-soaked men. She mentally shudders as she shoots them all venomous stare, causing them to back down before she nurses her coconut drink. Dragain Fawkes almost laughed out loud at Auora's antics, and raised up a hand for the seemingly in pain bartender for a flask of beer. As the beer was brought to him, he drank it up, enjoying the liquid slowly as it went down his throat.
"You seem happy here," Fawkes commented, giving Aurora a grin, "Mind telling me why?" He allowed the female to have space, his voice suggesting that if she did not want to tell him about it, he's fine with that as well. He was just curious about Aurora's background. Somehow, she did not seem to be the kind of girl who would just become a pirate for no reason a all.
He looked up, and thought he saw a female looking at the both of them. Thinking that it must be his own eyes playing tricks on him, Fawkes kept quiet as he picked up his cup and started drinking again. Kieko Aurora had heard the flame-haired woman antagonising the bartender, though she could not quite make out the words Alexandra was speaking. Had she overheard the exact conversation, the former barmaid would have approached the strange woman herself! She was no wench and barely showed off a bit of pale skin for a drink! It would take her far more than that to consider herself anything near!
Hearing Fawke's question and turning her head to view him, she laughed lightly, "It's nothing impressive..." She whispered quietly. Even though she laughed, her expression was not one of true happiness. Aurora seeme to be a strange woman, almost not allowing herself to be pleased with anything. To her, however, she had nothing worthy of smiling in the first place. "I was a bar hand before I became a pirate..." she began slowly, though it was clear she would speak more after taking another deep sip of her alcohol, "The atmosphere is incredibly comforting... spent more of my life in this bar than outside.."
She seemed to pause between statements and glance around them uncomfortably. Aurora was not drunk and therefore she was cautious when she spoke; she did not wish to share her past with everyone in the pub. Dragain Fawkes almost frowned, but instead, he gave an understanding nod before speaking, "Ah, okay. It's no wonder then." He tipped the almost empty cup to his lips as he can't help thinking that Aurora's words were a little unconvincing. Now the aprt about her past, more of the part about her smiles and tone.
He placed the now empty cup on the counter, and placed his arms on it as well. He lowered his eyes, and his voice was almost a whisper as he asked, "Do you have a strange feeling that someone is watching us? Or is it just me?" Caitlyn Hellstorm Alexandra's goldenish green eyes peers up at Aurora and Fawkes once again, watching them intently not caring if they know who is watching them. She stretches her legs out and tugs slightly on her skirt before she sips more of her coconut drink, her eyes slowly shifts to bartender and a small smirk appears on her face. "I need another one of those coconut drinks..now" She says in silky voice as she looks down at her empty mug. "Hmm..." She pulls out 3 gold and put it down on the bar top, grabbing the mug as it was placed down in front of her. "Thanks.." She flutters her fingers as she spins around on her stool silently then slips out of the tavern to confuse Aurora and Fawkes.

The Twelvth of April, In the Year of Our Lord 1606,
Dear Journal,
I don't seem to be the friendlist of the crew, it turns out. Already I have made meself 2 enemies and some being who enjoys staring over towards me in the tavern. A stalker I believe many call them. Her bright red hair and thin build gives her the appearance of a spider. I dread to find out she intends on joining our crew. The Dementia has become a great interest to those seeking a life of piracy. I find nothing grand about it, though I believe it's large crew may have something to do with it. Why though!? Just means less dubloons for all!

+ PAYMENT FOR THE PAJARO AZUL + [+]~Kogoro~[+] She walks into the bar, and stands behind Aurora and Fawkes, "Hello there crew," She says with a small smile on her face, holding the three doubloons for Aurora and the three doubloons for Fawkes in her right hand. Dragain Fawkes' eyes followed the weird female as she exited, for sure now taht she had been the one who had been watching them. He had o prove, but that's what his instincts had told him.
Looking up from his drink, Fawkes and took the coins, keeping it in the pocket in his pants. He flashed the woman a grin, "Hey Gabriella, and thanks." He grabbed the rest of his beer and finished it in one swing, feeling rather happy. Kieko It was strange that Fawke's asked because at that very moment Aurora's hazel eyes caught a glimpse of a firey red head nearby. Although she hadn't paid it much attention, she realised the woman had been there their entire conversation, and from her distance, had probably heard a good deal of it. Narrowing her eyes onto the woman, she growled under her breath. What bussiness did this wench have staring at them!? As she remained looking on Alexandra's direction, their eyes lock for a moment. Aurora takes in this person's image to keep it in mind in case she ever sees her again. Before she can speak, the strange woman begins out of the pub.
Gabriella's voice wasn't something to make Aurora coo and smile cheerfully, but as she heard the clinking of the dubloons, she turned her head eagering and grinned, "Greetings Cap'n!" Her voice was mock-pleased, though it wasn't noticeable enough to cause any problem. Taking her own group of coins, like Fawkes had, she quickly tucked them away into her small pouch. Caitlyn Hellstorm Alexandra's golden green eyes meets with Aurora's hazel eyes and she immediately narrows her eyes to glare at the female. She stiffens up as another woman walks in the tavern, definitely not liking this island and she quickly makes plans in her mind to steal a ship or boat then flee. Alexandra sidesteps a drunk man who is laying on the dirt ground slurring about the cave at the end of the island. "Stupid fool.." She mumbles to herself as she hurries toward her "safe house" to pack and getting ready to leave. Dragain "So, when will we be heading back to the ship?" Fawkes asked as he looked at Gabriella with a faint smile, "An estimate on when Dementia will come?" These questions had not actually striked him before leaving the pirate ship, and he was eager to know the answers... Especially since he it was getting rather boring just drinking. Kieko Aurora, unlike Fawkes, had taken her place back at the bar, chatting away with the bartender and a few approaching drunks. Each one seemed to have their own "kind" words to say and she brushed them off, individually. Glancing back towards the purple haired male and Gabriella, she yawned. Drinking could never get boring for the female, but staying up had left her worn and weary.
