"I dunno." Jamie shrugged as he said so, but despite the noncommittal response, it was obvious from his posture that he was about to go fish-passionate on Chris all over again. Before that, he just had to check a few more answers. This job had been entrusted to him and he wanted to do a good one, so doing a little work to keep rambling about his favorite animal was an okay trade off in Jamie's books.
"I kinda wish they didn't, though... My parents didn't know any better, either, but fish are actually, um, a lot harder to properly take care of than they look. Overfeeding and stuff is really common..."
Jamie checked off a few more answers before gratefully taking the paper Mr. Watts had offered. "I'm not that good... at drawing, I mean. But, um..." With the pen he'd been using to grade, he doodled a quick angelfish.
"Uhhh... I dunno if it looks just like them, but they're kinda like doritos with tall fins," he said with a tiny nod.

Chris only nodded in thought, letting him continue at his own pace. He glanced back at his email and managed to get out a sentence while Jamie checked, telling Hyejin that he'd send the tea but the oreos would be something special. He was in a nice enough mood he wasn't going to demand something for the tea this time around.
"That sounds like a problem, yeah. I didn't think they took that much care but you're proving me wrong," He smiled awkwardly and pulled the drawing towards him.
He took a glance at it, then gave a soft laugh. "That's an apt description paired with your drawing, but yeah those are some fancy fins. Do they do anything or is it just decoration? I mean, beyond swimming."

"Just swimming... I'm pretty sure that's all, anyway." There weren't a whole lot of fish who used their fins for anything else, at least as far as Jamie knew. "They're still, um, really nice to look at, though."
As Jamie finished off the last quiz in the stack, he finally thought to check his phone, just in case. It's not as if anyone normally texted him, he didn't have any friends he was that close to, but what caught his attention when the screen flicked to life wasn't conversations, it was the time.
"O-Oh..." he muttered, quickly putting it back to sleep. "I-I only have a couple minutes to get back to study hall..." While Jamie normally would've been concerned over being late, now he was actually more upset he couldn't stay. It had been nice to get away, talking to Mr. Watts had certainly gotten his mind off of things, but now he'd have to say goodbye.
"I better... get going...."

"That's kind of disappointing." Did any fish have fancy fins besides for breeding though? That was something to google later tonight when he couldn't sleep. "But yeah, they are nice to look at. Kinda remind me of Beta fish."
Hyejin was apparently awake because he got a reply to his email (which he had only sent with the vague reply of 'it'll cost more for the oreos') asking what he wanted and offering a deal. He glanced over it, considering, before turning to Jamie.
"Oh," Chris echoed, sounding faintly disappointed. He enjoyed Jamie's company, fish facts and all, and it was going to be weirdly empty in his office when he left. "Yeah, don't want to be late."
"Feel free to come back around whenever. It was really nice talking to you Jamie and I definitely appreciated your help." He smiled a bit awkwardly, hoping that didn't sound creepy. He was slightly reluctant for him to go.

To be fair, Jamie was also reluctant, and it was obvious in the way it took him longer than it should've to vacate the chair and start toward the door. Of course, he turned back around before leaving, offering Mr. Watts a surprisingly bright smile. For someone who was often frowning nervously, it was a definite improvement.
"I, um, I'd like to visit again. Thanks for listening to me... ramble about fish." He laughed a little awkwardly at that, but it was always difficult for Jamie to share things about himself without feeling like he was obnoxious. "A-And I'd be, um, happy to help grade again. Sometime." It felt nice to be useful. It really, really did.
"B-Bye, Mr. Watts. Um, talk to you later." With a small wave, he loitered only a moment longer before slipping out of the room.
