The male held in a scoff when the brunette went on making idle threats and just glanced over at the other. She was thinking out loud, but it was as though she took his exact thoughts right out of his mouth. Several times he had contemplated what exactly it was that fueled his strive to live. "Couldn't have said it better myself..." He mumbled, adjusting the strap of the heavy bag on his shoulder slightly. He'd gathered enough food for now—enough to last him and Buddy a couple weeks at most, and he wasn't certain as to what the plan was now that he'd encountered two survivors.
Jasper's eyes narrowed and darted towards the window when he heard that all-too-familiar sound. A hoard of zombies were on their way. There were too many to count. "Because splitting up is exactly what we need to do right now," he replied sarcastically, scowling in annoyance as he looked towards the two girls. "I know of a diner that's just a few blocks up the road that we can use to lie low until we figure out a plan." He spoke defiantly—for months the man had been longing to find other survivors and now that he finally has, he wasn't about to give up on them. "That's where we're headed." Glancing at Buddy when he said that, he then nodded, and turned to stride down the isle with Buddy following close behind him.
Whether or not they followed was completely up to them. He knew where he would be going.

I'm like a scarf trick, it's all up the sleeve I taste like magic, waves that swallow quick and deep Throw the bait, catch the shark, bleed the water red Fifty words for murder ,and I'm every one of them ════════════════════════════════════
It had taken awhile, but Moxie finally came to her senses just as the other woman had been attempting to decipher her ramblings. Her thoughts were no longer in a million places at once, and just in time, at that. The monsters' groaning was an all too familiar sound, and it meant only one thing- death. There were several, which meant that a horde was on its way. When was the last time Moxie had been in the same situation? It seemed to happen quite often these days when the dead outnumbered the living. "Oh no." Was all Moxie could whisper as she began to carefully pick herself up off the ground into a stand. Using one of the shelves for support, she shifted her gaze to the windows. Standing outside was one of her greatest fears as countless dead eyes stared back.
There was no time to waste. Immediately Moxie turned to face the shelf she had been holding onto, tearing whatever she could grab from the steel rack before it would be too late to do so. Hell, it already was too late, but she couldn't leave without supplies. "Soup lasts for years," Moxie began to mumble to herself as she tore what she could from the shelf to her pack. "s**t, there's no water? Will have to do without it." After a few more swears, some dropped cans, and several more unnecessary curses, she was ready to go. That was when the woman who had just been seemingly attempting to mug them slid her bow back over. She bent over to grab it off of the floor, and quickly nocked it with an arrow from the sling over her shoulder. She was at the ready, her eyes watchful like a hawk as she assessed the distance of the zombies who were nearing their position. The woman seemed to have already begun to run off, but the man was still there. He spoke of a diner that they all could escape to, and Moxie nodded at the suggestion. "Lead the way." She would follow him, but did not forget that this man could have been anybody- a stone cold killer, even. That's who seemed to rule the last of the world of the living.
Moxie followed the two at a steady, silent jog behind; arrow at the ready in case they, or a zombie with the case of the munchies, decided to attack. The latter she was not as worried about. She could handle zombies. Sure, she was terrified of hordes, just as anybody should be, but she hadn't survived for so long on hope and prayer. Her skill with her bow was tops, and the stealth she possessed was her only ally. Still, she had been too focused on the two in front of her. As they exited the store to make their way towards the diner, Moxie was surprised as a hand caught her from behind. 'What?!' She thought and turned her head to face her assaulter. Yellowed eyes caught her gaze, and a chill ran down over her spine. The moans were hungry and the gargle of blood hissed in it's throat. One mangled eye remained in it's rotting face, and it twitched and drooled for her flesh. It took all of her willpower not to vomit right then and there. Teeth nearly tore into her porcelain skin, but her reflexes were too fast to let that happen. Without even a second of hesitation, Moxie turned her body to face the monster, her bow drawn at her pelvis. She kneeled down quickly, and aimed up at it's skull- firing the shot clean through it's remaining eye. With one final groan, the zombie crumpled to the ground in a heap of rot. Shivering and on the verge of losing her will to refrain from vomiting, Moxie stood from her position to face the other two again. 'Keep it together, Moxie. It didn't get you.' She assured herself, and quickly dashed off to catch up to the other two before she could second guess her thoughts.

I'm so sorry for the wait, guys. Won't happen again.
↳Ace glared her eyes at the male as he replied with a snarky comment about splitting up. She stopped her escape for a moment, just to give him a snide response back. Before the girl could speak, the Englishman mentioned a diner, which she assumed was the same diner that she had planned to go to. She scoffed, crossing her arms as she faced him. What were the odds? She couldn't exactly back out on her original escape, the diner was the only place abandoned by most threats. Perhaps the idea of forming a group wasn't terrible, the supplies would multiply for sure, and she wouldn't have to spend all night watching her camp. Maybe she would cooperate. For now. "What a coincidence. I'm on my way to the diner as well." she exposed, smirking as she spoke, "Fine. If we're going to the same place, you'd better hurry it up. Don't slow me down." she threatened lightly, making her way outside the building and into the open.
Ace traveled with speed and silence. She tried her best to stay out of sight and out of range, which was harder now that her group had expanded from one to four, including the dog. She traveled ahead of the other two, wanting to get to the diner as soon as possible without any interruptions. It was as she heard the gargle that she panicked. Quickly, she whipped her body around to the source, seeing a rotting zombie latch itself onto the bluenette. Ace scowled, getting her weapon ready in case the worst happened. Thankfully, the girl seemed to get a clean shot, ridding herself of the monster. She raised an eyebrow curiously, 'Not bad...' she thought to herself. "Pick up the pace Blue!" she called out to the girl before turning herself around and continuing her journey.
After a stressful travel, Ace had arrived at the diner, hopefully with her new companions. She entered through the lopsided front door, careful not to make too much sound. Before anything, Ace's observant eyes caught the sight of a pair of legs hanging off the edge of one of the booths. Fear struck her for a moment, wondering whether the legs belonged to a dead body or a live one. Regardless, it could end badly. Slowly pulling out her knife, she approached the legs with quiet steps, trying not to cause a ruckus. When she reached the source, she dipped down and pressed her knife near the body's neck, realizing a moment after that it was a live human. His skin was of a peach hue, and his eyes, while bloodshot, were awake and alert. She glared her eyes at him threateningly, "Are you alone?" she asked first in a hushed tone, in case he had a group nearby.

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ ★ HEY ! PEOPLE CALL ME INSERT NICKNAME HERE███
Following after the brunette, Jasper's eyes instinctively began to dart around the diner for any signs of potential trouble. The building was in deplorable condition - windows were cracked and stained, floors were covered in layers of dirt and dust, so on and so forth. Buddy was already off roaming around and so Jasper slid his gun into its holster before following the brunette towards the man sitting in a booth. "We really do need to work on how we greet perfect strangers...don't we, darling?" The small smirk on his face was audible in his velvety voice, and he allowed himself a seat in the booth opposite of the man with a low groan. A seemingly nonchalant attitude for a former soldier/FBI agent to have, but he didn't want his companions knowing anything just yet.
While making himself comfortable, now that they were safe and sound in the harbour of the diner, the man glanced towards the bluenette. "Are you alright?" He asked, forehead creasing slightly in concern. Jasper had seen how close she was to being zombie food, and was honestly rather impressed at how quick she was to improvise, but knew she must have been spooked nonetheless. Then suddenly Buddy's head perked up. A low growl sounded from his throat as he moved quickly towards the window, planting his two front paws on the sill. Jasper narrowed his eyes at the dog and planted a hand on the table to push himself up. "Bud?" The moment he called out, Buddy let out a bark and jumped out the window, taking off.
---
Speeding down the deserted road, with his music blasting through the open windows of the car, Nathan's thumb drummed against the steering wheel to the beat of the song while his opposite arm hung lazily out the window. It was a beautiful day with not a single cloud in the clear blue sky and Nathan was currently on his way to a grocery store; he was running awfully low on food and other supplies. Having no idea where in the world he was, the male let out a sigh and reached over to the passenger seat for his map before laying it out on the wheel whilst driving. His crystal blues were skimming it up until he heard a man bellow. "STOP! STOP!!"
His foot hit the brake faster than ever before and his eyes, now panicky and absolutely crazed, were staring at the dog and the man in front of his car. "JESUS ******** CHRIST WHAT THE HELL, MAN?" Nathan let out, heart racing as he swung open the door of his car and stepped out. He hadn't noticed the dog run out in front of his vehicle, and as far as he was concerned it was the guys fault for not having it on a leash. Jasper's eyes glared daggers at the stranger. "What the hell are you yelling about?! You almost hit my dog with your bloody car!!" He shot back. "Whatever, man. Get out of the ********' way before I hit the both of you," he muttered, opening the door and getting ready to drive off. He did not miss human interaction. Not in the slightest.

THOMAS COLE
(( ooc:; I'm going to post for Zoe after they'll move to a different place, so you can all continue posting c: ))
One moment Thomas was all alone, enjoying the peaceful moment of laying in a ruined diner. And the next moment, all he could see was a lunatic woman attaching a sharp knife to his neck. Well, isn't this a wonderful greeting? His dark brown eyes looked straight into the woman's eyes before shifting to the side to look at the man who sat on the other side. Looking back again at the woman, he licked his lips before speaking. "Didn't your mother teach you manners, little girl? It's not really nice to approach people like that." His left eyebrow lifting up as a small smirk appeared on his face. Even though he was in an uncomfortable situation, with no ability to reach for the knife in his boot or to the weapon on the table, he was still being a smartass.
Thomas's eyes wondered around the people, noticing that was another woman. A woman with a blue hair, just like a smurf. From the position he was in, he didn't notice the dog. At least not until he heard a bark. Without any warning, the dog took off and the owner of the dog began to run right after him. "How about you lower the knife and all of us will go to see what's going on?" He asked, lifting his hand to point with his index finger at the direction the man ran to. Truth be told, Thomas wasn't sure if the woman would listen to him. Right now it seemed as if she was planning to kill him, which didn't surprise him. Earlier he met another small group of survivors, except they weren't pleasant. They stole his food and threatened to kill him if he would dare to follow them.
↳Ace glanced over at her travel mate as he commented on her greeting. She sent him a glare, finding nothing wrong with a little aggression. Every man for themselves... wasn't that the saying? The brunette had slid himself into the booth across from the new male, seeming much more relaxed than she was comfortable with. She had learned on her travels that there were many different types of coping regarding the apocalypse. Denial, aggression, grievance, torture... she had seen her fill. But relaxation, that wasn't on the list. Her gaze returned to the victim she had pinned, waiting for his answer. He seemed to find the response of sarcasm to fit the situation, not a wise choice in her eyes. Before she could threaten him further, the dog had began barking and running off into the open. She groaned, hesitating before letting go of the male scornfully, "Don't call me little girl." she warned as she rushed over to see what in the world the dog was up to.
The dog had jumped out of the window, putting Ace on edge. She knew that dogs could sense things, and whatever this mutt sensed was bound to bring her trouble. She hopped out of the window just as the male did, hearing a soft hum nearby. The sound shocked her, giving her chills. She hadn't heard something like that in a long time, and things that made noise brought nuisance. She found her ground just as the brunette had begun to yell "stop". Her eyes found a car, one that was screeching to a halt in a panic. She watched in surprise, holding her knife in her hand securely in case the driver brought trouble. The dog's owner started a shouting war with the man who had stepped out of the vehicle, a new appearance. Ace didn't want anything to do with other people, not in the slightest, but these jackasses were ruining her serene stealth! Groaning, she hurried towards the scene and glared at the males in question.
The male in the car seemed to have the intention was driving off again, which raised alarms in Ace's mind. She placed a blocking hand on his car door, looking up at him fiercely. Despite their very noticeable height differences, she didn't have the intention of backing down, "Nuh uh slick, I don't think so." she threatened. Her eyes looked over at the male with the dog, then back at the man in question, "I personally don't care whether or not you hit him or his dog, but that engine of yours could bring up attention I don't want. I just survived a mob, I'm not about to have you rile them up again." she warned.

JASPER RIVERA && NATHAN BENTLEY
Jasper was completely prepared to leave the male be and simply walk back to the diner with Buddy, however that was when more people came running out. "What is this, a ******** party?" Nathan mumbled rhetorically, setting his lips into a grim line across his face as one of them slammed his car door shut and began barking orders at him. As if she actually had a say in what he did and didn't do. The obvious height difference between the two was rather funny, comparable to that of a small dog trying to get a reaction out of one twice its size. The blonde smirked softly while folding his massive arms across his chest. He waited until she finished before speaking. "You know, if you had just asked nicely I might have been more likely to stick around," he began with a taunting wink, grabbing the door handle and popping it open once more.
He could care less if a blood thirsty mob of zombies went after these people. It wasn't as if they would be useful to him in any way; Nathan had everything he needed. A car, weaponry, food, water, and a map. "Good luck." Was all he said, although he hardly meant it. "Wait," Jasper called out, feeling irritable but willing to negotiate with the stranger that he was just yelling at moments ago. "As much as I hate to admit it...she's right. We nearly escaped with our lives back there and that engine of yours will only bring them back," he explained. "Please, stay awhile. Or at least take us with you." The males eyes were practically pleading for the other to understand and have some sympathy. Nathan chuckled faintly at the last bit like what he said was ridiculous.
"Yeah, right...the last travelling companions I had tried to murder me in my sleep," he recalled absently, leaning back against his vehicle and folding his arms casually across his chest. Needless to say, their little scheme to kill him and take his car did not go as planned. His wary blue eyes scanned the small group of people, very much aware that they were armed and quite capable of killing him if they truly wanted to. He guessed he would just have to have a little faith. Buddy, in the meantime, had taken to trotting around familiarizing himself with the scents of his new friends. He paused at Thomas, and laid down directly over his feet which elicited a small chuckle from Jasper when he'd noticed.

THOMAS COLE
His hazel eyes were locked on the woman who was still holding a weapon close to his neck, following every small move she did. Truth be told, Thomas didn't know what to expect from the woman. But, this wasn't the first time someone threatened to kill him. Not to long ago he met a group that stole his food and almost killed him, lucky for him, they didn't. "Alright, firecracker." Thomas could probably act mature and take her seriously. But, he didn't feel like it. Once the woman finally let go of him, Thomas immediately sat up, grabbing his weapon and moving right after the man. "Come on, you shouldn't be left alone." He turned back to the blue haired chick who was still there.
As soon as he was outside, he saw Jasper with another guy. His attention turned to the vehicle, noticing the advantage the guy had. They needed him.He opened his mout to speak but Aslyn spoke first, speaking as if the guy will really listen to whatever she was saying. Rolling his eyes, Thomas groaned. "You guys don't know how to negotiate." He mumbled, glancing down to look at the dog who just laid down over his feet. "Hey big guy." He bent down to ran his hand through the dog's fur before ruffling the head. Thomas was a dog lover, he even had a dog when he was small but his mother kicked the dog out because of all the mess. As he was playing with the dog with one hand, he raised his head to look at Nathan. "Look, you have a car. We have food. I think we can take care of each other." Honestly? He had no food right now. But he was sure he could find some, or at least the others could share the food. "What do you say?"
↳Ace shot the male a sneer as he winked at her, not finding his attitude cute in the slightest. Ace was about to threaten a fight when the other guy began to reason with him, or attempt to. He pleaded for sympathy, as if the man would comply. The entire situation was a mess, the biggest she had landed herself in since the apocalypse started. As expected, the vehicle guy didn't have interest in working together, "Shame they failed." she said sarcastically as he recalled outloud. Ace didn't hold much sympathy for anyone these days, unless she could get something in return.
Soon the entire group was joined, and the man she had previously threatened to kill had seemed to like the idea of teaming up. She rolled her eyes at the boys, finding their idea rather dumb. She had chosen not to accompany anyone from the start, people just brought pain and death. She had seen it happen in all groups. People fight, they grow suspicious, they betray, then they all end up dead. She wasn't asking for that. However, the idea of resources expanding did intrigue her. She had handled herself fine up until recently, but raiding was getting slow and even she had her limits. Biting her lip, she glanced at the car. Ace hadn't been able to travel far from the area, there was only so much she could walk on her own. Perhaps a little change would help.... She groaned, knowing she would soon regret this decision. Crossing her arms, she spoke, "Unfortunately, I think I agree with them," she sighed, nodding her head to the two males, "I've been through these parts since this sh*thole started. There's nothing left out there expect corpses and zombies." she paused, feeling a bit haunted by what she had seen, "We've got food, enough for at least a few days." she said fiercely, though she was partially bluffing. Her eyes wandered around the group, wondering just what she got herself into. Here they were, an English man and his dog, a smartass, a smurf, a noisy idiot with a car and her, an orphan. This would be interesting.

JASPER RIVERA&&NATHAN BENTLEY
"I think I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself,"Nathan stated stubbornly. He didn't like the idea of travelling with a group of strangers, especially the brunette who couldn't seem to stop running her mouth. Jasper's lips pursed slightly at the other males obstinate response. To some extant, he could understand why the blonde wouldn't care to travel with them. What kind of convenience did they have? None. Shaking his head slightly, in complete dismay of the predicament they found themselves in, Jasper dug his calloused hands into the pockets of his jeans and glanced towards the girl. At the same time as Nathan.
"Choice is yours, mate," he said honestly, looking towards Nathan once more. The only thing on his mind now was food. He hadn't eaten in a couple days and now he was beginning to salivate just thinking about it. "I suppose we could team up for a little while," he replied coolly. Then, his gaze shifted over to the girl. "But if you think for one second that you're calling the shots around here, you can think again. I don't need some b***h with an attitude problem telling me what the hell to do. You got that, babygirl?"His facial expression hardened, and he looked her straight in the eyes as he spoke. Nathan was not playing around. As far as he was concerned, it was his car, and therefore he had every right to give her the boot if he saw fit.
Jasper clenched his jaw and went to step in right away. They both obviously had short fuses and he was not about to see them go at each other's throats. "Alright, that's enough...Why don't we all go back inside and introduce ourselves, get to know one another?" He suggested, bright blue eyes looking towards his new bunch of companions. "Sit in a circle and pass around a stick so whoever is holding it can speak freely without any interruptions..." He mumbled the last part sarcastically, knowing already that his proposition probably wouldn't go over smoothly at all.

Truth be told, he wasn't expecting Nathan to agree so easily. Although, he could understand why. It wasn't easy to get food now, and being alone wasn't easy either. "See? That's how you do it." He turned back to Ace and Jasper, giving them a proud smirk because he actually convinced the guy to join them. Thomas noticed that the two of them had short fuses, he wouldn't be surprised if they will end up killing each other because of it. Good thing Jasper was there to step between them.
Thomas glanced at Jasper before sighing deeply, letting out a low groan. "Great, we're back to kindergarten." Rolling his eyes as he tucked his hands into the pocket of his jeans. "Alright, now that we all agree to stay together and keep each other alive." He glanced at the chick and the new guy for a second before walking over to Nathan, wrapping his arm around his shoulder. "We can all head back to the safe place." He walked together with Nathan to the girl before wrapping an arm around her shoulder as well. With the two of them, Thomas looked at Jasper as he began to walk back to the diner.
↳Ace wasn't didn't find the situation ideal, but it would have to do. She glanced over at the man with the car as he told her he wouldn't be taking orders from her. Her eyes narrowed and she smiled, tilting her head in an innocent way, "Call me babygirl again and I'll gouge out those pretty blue eyes of yours." she threatened in a sickly sweet voice, changing her smile into a menacing frown. The male was seriously starting to get on her nerves, but she would bear with it for now. Before their threats could continue, however, the other male had stepped in to suggest they go back inside to introduce themselves. Just like that, the group seemed to be settled. Ace went from being a lone wolf to stuck in a pack. She wasn't looking forward to whatever would come next. She would be careful not to get too close to any of them. She didn't have the time for heartbreak or drama. She needed to survive, that was all.
Hearing the bearded man's proud remark, she rolled her eyes as a response, keeping her mouth shut. He approached the blonde male and herself, putting an arm around each of them and lead them to the diner. She glared at him, lightly brushing his arm off her shoulder and continued walking to the diner ahead of the group. Stepping inside the building, she took a seat in one of the empty booths and placed one leg over the other on the table top, crossing her arms. She waited for the entire group to get in and stayed silent for someone to take the lead. She wasn't the leader type, hell, she wasn't even the group type.

JASPER RIVERA&&NATHAN BENTLEY
"Well, that wouldn't be the brightest idea on your part, now would it?" The blonde asked as he pulled out his car keys from his jacket pocket, the silver jingling in his hand. "Safety first, right?" Nathan smiled slyly with a wink before sliding his hands into his pockets. Jasper merely gave a look of disdain upon hearing the blondes snide remark before cutting in, suggesting that they all head inside. Calm their nerves for at least a little while before another wave of zombies attacked. A breath of air escaped Jasper's nostrils in a short chuckle at the bearded mans comment. The blonde and brunette might as well be pulling at each others hair and playing tag like a couple of kindergarteners.
Then he went onto basically restate what Jasper just said, before wrapping both arms around Nathan and the brunette and heading inside. Nathan merely gave him a look before shrugging his arm off. He didn't like people touching him, let alone a dude that he just met. With a sigh Jasper glanced towards the bluenette before giving her a gentle yet tired smile and nodding his head towards the diner. Falling into step with the young woman, the foursome headed back inside towards one of the larger booths where Nathan slid into the spot directly in front of the brunette. He folded his big arms over his chest and with a sneaky smirk, he lifted his foot and lightly kicked the leg of her chair. This caused it to wobble only slightly.
Jasper didn't seem to take any notice to the others childlike behaviour. He looked around the table at the reluctant, somewhat irritable faces and ook a breath before speaking. "Alright, then...I suppose I'll take the lead." For a brief moment, he went silent as he thought of what to say. "My name is River. I am twenty-eight years old, I hail from London, England--moved here with my family when I was thirteen," he began, then looked towards Buddy who was now laying on the floor.
Kick, went Nathan's foot again, only this time more firmly. Then one more time momentarily.
The mutt's head was resting on his front paws while he gazed up at everyone through big brown eyes. "I met this one a few months ago. Now initially we scarcely got along, but now we're the best of friends." He finished with that, half a smile touching his dusty pink lips as he waited on the next volunteer.
