Rune continued her work on the deck, finally making her way to the front of the small boat. Grinning triumphantly on managing to clean the entire wood surface by herself, she stopped to take a quick break-- her next job was to start cleaning out the massive tanks they stored the fish in, and that'd take a lot longer. Not to mention it reeked down there... Her tan nose wrinkled at the thought.
Then she caught sight of the pink haired girl seemingly looking for something around the marina, her face unfamiliar to Rune. She set down the mop and bucket, making her way over to the railing.
"Hey there! Are you looking for something?" She called, waving a little to try and get her attention. Then her eyes narrowed as she leaned forward, getting a better look at the girl.
There was something odd about her...

Rose turned at the sound of the voice that was above the usual hustle and bustle of the morning crowd. Her eyes connected with the girl heading towards her. The Boss had said that one would be nearby... Could she be it? Pursing her lips, she downed a little more of her drink to give her some time before she began to speak with her.
Maybe she is the one? She had a feel about her, so it could be...
"Uh, perhaps?" Rose cleared her throat and moved closer, "I'm looking for someone." She brushed her hair back a little, "This is going to sound strange, but- has anything odd ever happened to you?"

"Uh... Pardon?"
What was with that look? She leaned a bit further over the railing, the cold metal biting into the palms of her hands. There was definitely something strange about the pink-haired girl. The hair on the back of Rune's neck stood up. There were already so many strange things that had happened to her over the course of her life, but every time they'd been dismissed as simply nothing more than an overactive imagination, or sheer happenstance.
But then, there was that storm... She couldn't just wave that away as chance.
"You're going to have to define 'odd'. But who are you looking for?"
'Come on, please get distracted by the question...' She gnawed on her lower lip.

Rose cleared her throat, "Look, I know this is..weird, but I have to know if you're one of the people I'm looking for. A person that experienced something they can't explain but it resulted in a ...a power given to them."
Her cheeks redden a little, afraid that the girl would think she was crazy or something. "I just need to know. It's very important."

Rune's eyes widened, a strange strangled sound clawing its way out of her throat. She knew... Oh god, this girl knew! That was it, her chance at avoiding those horrific creatures was over, wasn't it? No, maybe she could still escape, she could just take the boat out, convince her father that this wasn't a good place for them to work in, or--
'Who am I kidding? They'd just follow me...'
She pushed herself away from the railing, making her way to the side of the boat and pushing out the gangplank.
"C-come on. We shouldn't talk about this out here."

She was right! Rose's heart did a little flip before she moved to step on the gangplank and walked across it carefully to get on the boat. It was strange, but she breathed out a bit, looking at her curiously.
"Um, so, yes, I wanted to talk to you about this. I'm Rose Morgan." She offered her hand, "And you are?"

"Rune Thrussell, nice to meet you." Rune shook her hand, mindful of how rough her own was-- you didn't have soft, unscarred hands if you spent most of your life untangling sharp nets and tugging water-beaten wires. "At least, I'm hoping so... Here, this way." She opened up the door to the helm, going to the small coffee machine that haphazardly made its home on a back panel. "Need a top up on your drink?"
She started making a fresh pot, then turned back to Rose, a hand going to her pendant that was hidden beneath her shirt. Now that she was close to the girl, she felt a faint vibration humming through the blue stone, like it was drawn to her. "What... is it you really want to ask me, Miss Morgan?"

"Thank you." Rose watched her, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible. She sighed softly, trying to figure out how to explain how this would work. Or at least how to get her to join her in this.. 'battle'. Even as she thought of it, it sounded insane, really. Shifting her wait, she tried to decide on how to say it.
"Are- do you use an item to transform into something..um.. weird?" Rose asked, "I know this is all strange, but I was contacted by someone known as Boss to find others like me to fight against some monsters that have come to Rose Falls." She looked up, trying at least but couldn't help but fidget and look away.

Rune topped off Rose's coffee once it was done brewing, then settled back against the worn Captain's Chair, leaning against the leather back. So it did involve the fight after all... Damn it all, she didn't want this!
"I'm guessing you have one such item yourself?" She asked softly, running her hand through her bangs. "I didn't sign up a fight, Miss Morgan, nor do I want to take part. I hate fighting."
She stared down at her cup of coffee, inspecting her reflection in the dark liquid before she looked up at Rose again. "I'm guessing you do as well, though. You don't seem very gung-ho about this." She pulled her pendant from its hiding spot, the aquamarine glimmering slightly as it caught the light-- or was it generating its own?

"I do." Self-consciously, Rose touched her earrings, the somewhat oddly bright morganite stones. " And no, I don't want to, but I see no choice. It's either do nothing and let innocent people die because of it or do something with the hope it'll be over with."
She looked down at her coffee, worrying her lower lip a little, "I know this is a lot to ask of you, Miss Thrussell. However, I understand if you don't wish to do this still. I will do my best to make up the difference when the enemy comes."
Shyly, she glanced up a bit, her thin dreads had loosened a little from being tied back, and hide her left eye a little. "I just..hope you would consider on helping. The Boss is certain that this place is the place that they'll appear."

This was starting to sound like a bad action movie. But the way Rose looked...
Something tugged deep within Rune's heart, urging her to help the girl. Her vision went blurry for a second, a vague memory trying to free itself from the depths of her mind where it had long been concealed. Or, did it not truly belong there...? Her chest started to hurt as she blinked repeatedly, her sight slowly coming back into focus.
She put her hand on Rose's shoulder.
"I'm not sure how much help I'll be to you, but I'll try. The... The sooner we take care of this, the less we'll have to fight, ja?." She smiled a little. "And I hate seeing people upset. Although..." Her smile faded, "The longer I am speaking to you, the more familiar you seem. Have we met before?"

Somehow that flustered the woman, and she shook her head before sipping the coffee. Oh...wonderful. She had a moment of being able to feel the other's emotions. She felt her heart jump a little. What ...was that? Was that what Rune felt? It was confusing and even more so that she felt the same way.
"I, um, don't believe we have?" Rose turned the mug around in her hand again, "Is there a number I can call you at? For help?"
Shifting a little, she looked away, "Say, have you heard of Sailor V and those others in Japan?"

"Hm?" Rune shook her head a little, coming out of her daze. 'Come on, idiot. Get with the program.' "Ah, yes. Here." She grabbed a scrap of paper from the logbook near the ship's wheel and a pencil, hastily scratching down her phone number as well as the one for the line on the fishing boat. She handed it to Rose, still looking at her curiously. Why was it that she was feeling this way...?
Not to mention, with the way the sun was filtering through the slightly foggy windows of the cabin and illuminating the pink-haired woman... She was truly attractive...
Her thoughts derailed right there and then as she turned away, feeling herself blush. What was wrong with her today?!
'Focus!'
"I can't say that I have. Are they part of a navy or something?" She coughed slightly, keeping her gaze on the instrument panels near the wheel instead of on Rose.

"Thank you. I'll let you know it's me." Rose smiled slightly, pocketing the number away. Her brows knitted together a little in thought. Trying to figure out how to word her next sentence.
"Well, no, I think.. well, it's going to sound nuts- but then what hasn't?" She giggled nervously, pushing her hair back again, "I mean, I think we're like them, in some way."
She sighed softly, "At any rate, I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time with this. I hope your day will be well." Turning to leave, she gave Rune another shy smile, "Thank you for listening. I'll keep in touch. Bye."
With that, she hurried off the boat and back to the pier, breathing out a little. So..that was someone like her. She was happy to have found her, but found herself worried a little at how young she was. Sure, she was only a few years younger, but still!
"I hope the boss knows what he's doing..."

So, start researching this "Sailor V" then. Rune made a mental note to hop on Wikipedia once she was done with her work.
"I look forward to hearing from you, I'm still a bit confused as to what exactly is going on. And you didn't take up my time." Rune smiled sheepishly, walking with Rose to the edge of the ship. "Have a good day yourself, Miss Morgan."
She watched the pink haired woman walk away, her smile fading. Why had she agreed to this so quickly? This wasn't like her at all, normally she would have pressed Rose for as much information as she could get!
'Well, I can try to stay out at sea for as long as possible in order to avoid fighting...' Within moments her heart dismissed her brain's logic. No, she needed to stay nearby. Something important depended on it, though she still wasn't certain what. Besides, if something attacked her father while she was selfishly out in the middle of the ocean, what would that do to her? Could she live with herself if that happened?
No, of course not.
"Guess it's time to start those defense classes..."
