Kuzo looked at the man and growled a bit before pointing, "The gods room is over there.." He said and went to the garden to blow off some steam. He couldn't believe he was the familiar of a human. And that human man kissed him to make the damn contract! He glared at the wisps who floated around doing their duties. Taking a few deep breaths he went to the boys room and looked inside seeing him asleep.

The walls were bare so he used his magic to make things, dressers, a mirror, decorations around the room. He floated the boy in the air and put a bed under him and put him under the covers. When he was all done giving him the perfect bedroom he went to the kitchen to find cookbooks. Humans had to eat food so he had to learn how to cook. If he was going to be this human's familiar he was going to do the job right. There would already be shame that the new land god was a human. Kuzo had to do everything in his power not to let that shame be bestowed upon him. Towards morning he had food prepared for the boy and was sitting waiting reading one of the scrolls.

Kuzo made a noise and waved his hand. A bubble around the food popped that was keeping the food warm. One of the wisps came over, "Its a familiars job to take care of the god. Thats why he made your room last night." Another wisp came up, "And he stayed up all night learning how to cook!" Kuzo glared at the wisps and they cowered then flew behind Marcus. Kuzo rolled his eyes, "Sit down and eat. There are lots of things you will need to learn about your new job." He said standing up and walking out.

Kuzo pulled out books to teach about god powers and spells. Books of all the prayers that had been said for the last ten years and cards for Marcus to practice with.

The wisps looked at each other then at him, "You don't have to worry about the shrine. That is your familiars job. His magic keeps the shrine in pristine condition and he does all the chores." Another nodded, "All you have to do is answer prayers. Mikane has been gone for ten years so there are lots of prayers that have been unanswered." The first one answered, "Because of that there haven't been that many people here."

Kuzo listened to the sprites talk to Marcus before sitting down and reading his book again. It was against tradition for a familiar to eat with their master so Kuzo would eat later in the day. When Marcus was working.

Kuzo heard the family as well. He pulled out one of the notebooks he had been writing in for years and wrote down their prayers and their names and how much of an offering they gave. When they left the spirits said, "Those were the prayers of people who come up to the shrine. Its your job to answer those prayers." Another one flew over, "And while it is not against the rules to help your familiar it is odd. No god has done a familiars job." They said then started to push him to go learn.

Kuzo looked up seeing the spirits push the boy in, "Good. Here are a couple books you should read about your new powers and here are the prayers of the last ten years." he said dropping the books in front of the boy.

Kuzo was trying to think of a way to explain the process to him when the boy got up and left. He glared at the spirit and flicked it away from him. "Shut up you.." he said under his breath and got up going after the boy. He stayed behind him and just said simply, "You don't call them. You read their prayer. What they are asking for then thinking of that person you use your power to give it to them." he sighed a bit, "There is no easy way to explain this. It is your power that you must harness on your own."

He looked at the sky, "When you start your return on a prayer things should... come to you as you begin the process. It only takes practice and dedication." he said looking back at the boy.

Kuzo listened to him raising his eyebrow a tiny bit then shook his head, "I don't need much sleep. But I'll leave you alone to work on this." he went to the door and stopped, "Try the ones in the book on the bottom of the pile. They are the so old they only need a little bit of magic. It should be a good place to start." He walked out then to go work.

Around the shrine Kuzo did the yard, cleaned the windows, cleaned the rooms, polished the shrine steps and then had time to make a small lunch for Marcus and bring it to his room. He nodded and gave a small bow before going to the kitchen to start preparing dinner as the chicken would take some time to cook.

Kuzo looked up from his work and sighed going out to the boy. He stood next to him and watched the wind swirl around the trees, "Your power isn't unlimited you know. Using too much can be damaging to you." he said not angrily. Almost in a worried tone.

Kuzo saw the tiredness on the boy and knew that it was best for the land god to be on the land when recovering. Not wanting the boy to catch a cold he shifted into his demon form and curled around him to keep him warm into the night. His head on his paws he watched crickets jump past them.
