I thought it was around a normal length for a series, considering the X series and Escaflowne is also the same length. Although I love the SailorMoon and Inuyasha series, 200 episodes does seem lengthy...not to mention that Case Closed either ran/ or is aiming for 300 episodes.

Yeah Chobits was short I would have hopes it was longer! Inuyasha and Sailormoon are sooooo long which its good because Yay more anime but its bad because what if you can't get all of the episodes. biggrin

I know what you mean, I was just getting into it when they were suddenly explaining everything in the series and ending it.
As for the continuing series, unless it was done by CLAMP I wouldn't be interested...or maybe...

I thought it was a normal length series also. I prefer shorter anime series to animes that never end.

Though the storyline of that anime is very different to that of Chobits...afterall Chi isn't even a humanoid robot. xd

Yeah I'd like to smack the girls at CLAMP for ending this series too soon. There is so much more to tell. We didn't even get a first kiss scene in the manga or anime with Chi and Hideki. Then again CLAMP usually screws up their own series. They haven't even continued the storyline in X yet. I think they totally bailled out on Legal Drug. Jeez girls get it together and finish X and make a sequel to Chobits.

Pink-chi How many episodes are there, im watching some now and i'm watching episode 26. It said the Final episode that's the final episode, unless you count the three commentaries which doesn't really advance the storyline.

Yeah, there were 28 episodes, that counts three recap eps and one six-minute OAV.
Question does remain, though, what'd happen if the series continued?
My money stays on the idea that Chii comes under constant harrassment by Dragonfly or maybe those gov't persocoms...

I thought Dragonfly learned his lesson, I think that if the series continued, the problem about Chi and Hideki having a physical relationship would come up...we all know he was frustrated throughout the series.

Evangelistia Compared to average length of animes it was short, compared to inuyasha it was extremely short, although I want to know what happens to everybody afterwards I don't think the next installment of chobits would be very good. agreed i think the show was as good as it was becuase so much happened in each eppisode I would enjoy it to be longer becuase yes it was very short however I do not think it would be very good.......
