 When she put the blanket on him and kissed his cheek, he smiled as he he shook his head a bit. "Thank you my dear... it was cold." He said in a soft tone for he was dreaming of his wife. After a little bit he woke and rubbed both eyes as he could tell Melody was gone. "Sweetie?" As he said that he looked down to her eating her food while Rex sat next to her. He was glad at how he acted like a watch dog with her. "Oh there you are sweetie, daddy wasn't asleep long was he?" As he asked that he reached over and gently patted her head as he sat on the edge of the couch.

 Melody shook her head happily as she purred feeling her head get pet. She had a mouth of food and didn't want to be rude. Once she swallowed, she said "Daddy was snoring and it was funny." She had the sweetest little voice that could make anyone's bad day good. She giggled as she sat next to him before she finished her food and smiled at Rex seeing his little tail wagging.

Dudley smiled as he looked down to Melody when she got up on the couch with him. When she said that it was funny when he snored, he just chuckled a bit as he patted her head once more. "Well snoring is something daddies do haha." After he said that Dudley looked down to Rex as his tail wagged. Dudley then reached over to the table to grab on of the sandwiches then gave it to him. "Eat up boy." Rex smiled as he eat the sandwich then got on the couch next to Melody. After he did this he rested his head next to Melody and let out a sigh. Dudley does feed him dog food, but he likes to feed him the food he eats more often. "So Melody, what do you want to do now?" As he asked he placed his hand on the top of her head and patted her head gently like he did before.

"Can we go to the park daddy?" She asked hoping it wasn't too late for them to go. She smiled as he pet her head and began to purr as he did this. She loved Dudley and Rex very much even if she had just gotten there today. She was grateful that they wanted her in their home even if she was a kitten.

When she asked if they could go to the park. Dudley reached up and gently rubbed his chin as he thought about it. "Well... I don't see a problem with going to the park." As he said that he did look at the time and smiled seeing that it was still early in the day. He then got up and picked her up before holding her with one arm. "Off to the park we go." He then looked down to Rex and smiled as he patted his hand with his free hand. "Go get your favorite toy buddy." Rex looked up at him and barked happily as he ran off. When he came back he had a frisbee in his mouth. Dudley smiled as he patted his head again before looking at Melody. "You ready to go sweetie? Cause I think Rex is haha." After he said that Rex's tail started to wag like crazy.

Melody giggled at Rex and nodded saying "Yep." As she was in Dudley's arm. She looked down at Rex and said "He really likes the park huh?" seeing that Rex's tail was wagging like crazy as they walked out the door, locked the door, and went to the park. Once there Melody went over to Rex and said "Come on Rex! Let's play!" as she giggled and waited for Re to catch up.

Dudley smiled as he looked down to Rex when Melody said that. "Yeah he just loves the park." Rex looked up to him while his tail was still wagging. After that, Dudley took Melody and walked with Rex out the door. Once they got to the park he sat on one of the benches and watched them as they played. Rex smiled as he let her take his frisbee and he jumped back and looked at her with his face low to the ground and his but up in the air with his tail wagging. "That is how he shoes he is ready." Called out Dudley as he sat there still.

Melody giggled and threw the frisbee as hard as her little body would let her. SHe knew how to throw one since she learned from one of the only volunteers who liked her at the orphanage showed her how to do it. She laughed as Rex went after it and said "Good boy." When he brought it back before throwing it again saying "go get it Rex." She then smiled as he went after it again.

Dudley smiled as he watched them play with the Frisbee, he thought it was cute how the frisbee looks big when she held it but so small when Rex got a hold of it. Rex came back with time and barked as he handed her the frisbee so she could throw it again. Once she had it he took a step back and got low to the ground as he looked at her, waiting for her to throw it once more. Dudley smiled as he walked over and sat cross legged behind Melody. "Having fun sweetie?" ((so sorry I thought I replied haha))

"Yes sir." Melody said before throwing the Frisbee again and watching Rex chase after it making her giggle. She then went over to Dudley and hugged him giggling as she said "I love you daddy." She then smiled up at him before she saw Rex coming back. She hugged Rex too and giggled as he licked her cheek.

When she came over to hug him, he hugged her back and then patted her head gently. "Oh I love you too sweetie." In the back of Dudley's mind, he didn't think she would call him daddy so soon. But truth be told, he liked it when she called him daddy, it made him feel whole again. Dudley smiled as he looked up to see Dudley coming over to them. As he licked Melody's cheek, Dudley reached over and patted his head. "Good boy." He then took the Frisbee and got ready to throw it. "Ready boy?" Rex looked at him with a smile on his face as he jumped up a few times as Dudley then threw the Frisbee. Dudley ran after it and jumped into the air to catch it. He then landed and walked back over to them and laid down in front of them. He then looked to Melody and panted a bit as he did. "Awe he wants a pat on the head." Said Dudley as he looked down at her.

Melody giggled as Rex looked at her like he did. She pet his head saying "You're a sweet boy Wex." She then gave him a kiss on the nose giggling as she continued t pet him knowing they would become best friends soon. She had always wanted a dog but with her old mom's fear of them, she couldn't have one. It was nice to have a friend of some kind in this town. She lived in the next town over before this, but she knew that she was in good hands. She then hugged Rex gently and said "I wuv you Wex." Jin Justice ((Oh and just so you know, Melody has a speech impediment and she's autistic but doesn't show it.))

Rex smiled as he licked her cheek when she kissed his nose. Rex missed having a a little one to play with and was very happy that Dudley got Melody. He didn't really know how he got her, but he doesn't care. Dudley smiled as he watched her do this, and then chuckled a bit when she hugged Rex. Rex smiled as he licked her cheek again and then snuggled with her as she hugged him. "That manes he loves you too Melody haha." As he said that he reached over and patted her head gently as he did.

Melody giggled, purring as she was pet and snuggled. She loved them very much. After a while of playing at the park, she was hungry and went over to Dudley and Rex from the jungle gym after playing with some other kids. She hugged Dudley's leg and said "I'm hungry daddy." as she purred softly.

Dudley smiled as he watched her play, and then chuckled a bit as he saw the Rex would stay close to you at all times to watch over you. He liked how protective he was of Melody. When she came over and hugged his leg, he smiled as he reached down and picked her up. "Alright sweetie, lets get something to eat." He then looked down at Rex who came over with her and then patted his head. "So Melody, did you make some new friends?" As he asked he was heading over to the car with her in arm and Rex behind them.
