He never could grasp sadness or pity for someone. He only knew that the emotions existed based on what he saw humans do. He just watched as she slowly recovered and accepted his words. She then asked how the food was to basically avoid the subject and try to make a brighter mood. He didn't answer her but once she got up to change the pitcher of water he followed behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to him. Her back would be up against his chest as he held her and for just watching humans do this he actually had a good amount of pressure to hold her. He however felt kind of awkward and unsure if he was doing this right. He didn't even know why he was doing something like this in the first place. It was kind of instinctual and just by what he had seen. He then spoke calmly. "I'm not familiar with human emotions or how to deal with them, but from what I've seen this is the most appropriate reaction to this kind of situation." ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

As she was about to close the door of the fridge she froze. A blush coming back to her cheeks. Leon was hugging her from behind! Ah... Uhm... Her father has done the same thing to her in the past but for some reason her heart was beating erratically. Maybe it was because of the shock she received from discovering her true form. She burst into giggles when she heard him talk. Seems like she was not he only one feeling awkward about the situation. If his intentions were to cheer her up then he did well. Since she was unable to move much from her position Rendeline tilted her head sideways as he looked up to him. Yes, thank you. I really needed a hug. Her words were pure of sincerity as she smile up to the reaper. It was obvious that he was not use to show such emotions which made her a little happier. The fact that he decide to show this side of himself to her means that he somehow considers her as a friend already than a mere acquaintance. If he were to loosen up a bit the maiden would probably turn around to face him just to hug him back. It was the least she could do after what he did for her.

He was about to let go until she said that he was doing the appropriate reaction so it somewhat relieved him of the awkward feeling but he still didn't know what to do after so he only figured that he should let her go. He loosened his arms off of her and stayed there looking at her. "Sorry...I am not use to doing this kind of stuff." He said with a rather confused look on his face. He felt kind of lost with this field of interaction with people. He never did this with his master so he could only go as far as what he had seen done. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

Rendeline placed the pitcher of water over the counter as soon as she felt Leon's arms letting go of her. Slowly, she turned around to face him returning back his hug. You do not need apologize about such things. Specially if those things you do are to make others happy. After a little squeeze she let go giving him a friendly peck on the cheek. Her golden eyes met his once more smiling sweetly. It was kind of funny to think that the one's nonchalant reaper was now there in front of him looking all confused, finally showing some of his emotions to her. He was like a lost boy who had no idea what he was, just so adorable.

She then stated that he did nothing wrong and even showed signs of happiness because he hugged her. "Why do such jesters make someone smile? Is it the physical act itself?" He was trying to understand what exactly made her happy. It was then his thoughts would be interrupted by a kiss to the cheek. Leon never once received a kiss in general so the feeling of someone's lips touching his body was extremely unfamiliar. He felt his cheek and he held an expression of contemplation. "What do I do to react to this? Do I kiss back? Do I smile? What is the right way to respond to this?" Eventually he just found his thoughts futile to understand and just went with it. "Well I guess I'm glad I did something right out of pure guessing." ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

Rendeline bit her lower lip, trying to prevent herself from giggling. It would be rude for her to do such a thing specially since he was not used to such things. Which makes her think what kind of upbringing he may had in the past. He looked like he was raised well so most probably he was taught to act like a true gentleman in times like this. Though she would have to admit she was enjoying her time watching several innocent reactions from the reaper. So did I. She mused. Taking the pitcher of water off the counter, she walked back to the dinning table filling his glass then hers. So shall we continue eating breakfast? She took one of her grandmothers cookies and took small bites from it. She was not sure if he was finished with his so she figured she'd ask.

Was his action really that effective. "How interesting." He thought as he wandered back to the table with her. He nodded when she asked if they should continue to eat. As he sat down and went back to eating some of the food she prepared he seemed deep in thought about the interactions between humans to see what would be appropriate in situations that revolved around kindness and affection. Though he could not figure out when would be fine to do such a thing. It was always frustrating to try and figure out these emotions, and gestures even though he never showed his frustration on his face. Though he thought he might as well ask her a question seeing as she was more familiar with these emotions than he was. "If I may ask, when is it appropriate to kiss someone? Rendeline sat back down to her seat when Leon nodded. After he sat back down across her the room was filled with awkward silence again. He seemed to be in deep thought about something but she pretended not to notice and continue with her meal. As she was to take a sip from her tea he suddenly asked when it would be appropriate to kiss someone. That is a very hard question to answer. Let me see. She placed her cup back on the table. Come to think of it when would it be the okay to do so. Even she was not sure. Instead of over thinking things she thought that it would be better to tell him about her own opinion on it honestly since he seem to be not familiar with such actions. I am not sure entirely. It's like there's a tiny voice that keeps on whispering for you to do such a thing. Of course there's a level of comfort to wards the other before you'll be able to do that. Others may be able to do them casually and others don't. Then again, maybe you'd need to consider their personality as well.So basically it depends on the person and how they feel at the moment I guess. She shrugged sheepishly. Did I make any sense?

She basically said that the only way to know when it was okay to kiss someone is if you understand how a person feels, and what their personality was like. In hindsight it made perfect sense, but not to a being who did not understand human emotions and that meant that they didn't know how to understand someone's personality. "Well if I was human I might of, but as a reaper I am devoid of all emotions naturally. I never understood human emotions, and I don't understand the meaning humans put in interactions between each other. So it isn't entirely your wording that I didn't understand. I think it's because of the fact that I never have tried to act human, or attempted to be like one. The only time I have showed the slightest hint of being human was with you." He sighed in disappointment. Having little experience with this subject made him ignorant and that bothered him. Perhaps the only way to understand humans was to be like them, though that might be difficult for him. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

Rendeline felt his disappointment through his words. She wished she could be able to explain it better to him but that was all she could think of as of the moment. If only he she was well verse about the subject then probably she'll be able to shed the light about it more. However, she was a little shocked to know that she was the only person whom he showed such emotions. Which made her think if all reapers were raised like this. I am really glad to know that you chose to show me such emotions. I have no idea how reapers live their lives but in my opinion human beings chose to interact with one another so that they will not be able to live in solitude. Sometimes people communicate to persuade, to provide or gather information and to express their feelings and emotions. They were not made perfect that's why they seek help from others who would be able to fill that weakness of theirs and at the same time share that little strength they have within themselves in order for them to survive. Hopefully that would be able to help him out somehow. Then a thought came to mind. If you'd like I can help you with your quest in learning human emotions though my idea may be a little weird. Since she helped her out with were recent transformation just these little things would probably not suffice. Maybe he'd be able to understand them more if he would be able to experience them himself.

It was then that she offered to help him understand and feel these human emotions. It could be promising, and he had nothing better to do so it would be best to accept her offer. "I would like that. It would be logically best to have you help me since I have already showed some emotion to you on my own." He was really curious now on what he would learn first. "So where do we start?" If he could learn quickly he would then understand human qualities, the reasoning of why they do things and for how it benefited them. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

Rendeline stood up from her seat and clapped her hands together once. Great! I will be back in a minute. She headed over to her bedroom to get a her small red spiral notebook and silver pen. As she head back to the kitchen she sat pulled a seat right beside Leon and place the notebook on the table. How about we list down the emotions that you wish to experience? We could start from there and then cross them out as we go. I'll add some of mine as well just to be fair. She said gingerly. Being able to see his million faces this close would be a wonderful experience indeed.

This was a project that he wished to see through and the fact that he had someone who was willing to work with him for his own interest was very helpful. His master would of unlikely did such thing with him but it was understandable. When Red came back she had a pen and a notebook and said that they should write down the emotions he wished to experience and she'd help out by listing some emotions of her own to help widen his arrange of emotions. When he thought of his first three emotions that he desired to experience he spoke. "Kindness, Love, and Joy are what I wish to experience most. These three are the least I understand." He said with certainty. He wondered if she could truly help him, and put up with his normal self. Rendeline nodded and wrote down the emotions he had mentioned. Kindness. Love. Joy. I think we could cross out Kindness. You've been showing me nothing but kindness this whole time don't you think? She giggled. He may have not realized it but he did. She guessed that it just came in natural to him that's why he did not realize it. Then again, he did say that he had never shown any type of emotion to others than her. As for me... Let me see.. She tapped her chin and started to think. Would it be a good idea to put in some negative emotions in them? But that would be mean he had to experience something that might hurt him. So far you've chosen the ones that you've mentioned are the positive sides of emotions. This might be a bad idea but would you like to add some negative ones to the list like envy maybe?

Leon began to think about it, and he realized that because of the fact that he had spent time with Red, accepted her offer to eat with her, stopped her from harming anyone, and took her home when she was unconscious that was what humans called kindness. "Strange." he said. he never realized it till she pointed it out. It was then that she asked about the negative emotions for humans, and if he desired to feel them. He shook his head to her. "Negative emotions I can understand, because before I came to have my clockwork blade I was a normal reaper who took the souls of those who died. I can talk to the dead, or those in the after life if I desired to do so, and after a soul dies they showed most of the time regret, sadness, despair, grief, anger, depression, etc. I have seen these emotions as a normality for humans, and I found that it was just common for humans to have. Because those emotions are the only I have become acquainted too its new to me that a human can smile, and laugh with joy for something small and little.
