The cloaked man was surprised. At least he didn't get killed, but he could tell it wasn't aimed at him considering that the arrow was lead far enough for the undead to practically fall into it's path. Ballistics. It made it easier to know who was going to die. As another passed by him, he grabbed it by the neck and decapitated it by slicing off it's entire neck. Of course, he could just sever the brain stem, but it never hurt to make sure. He'd guess he may as well help those two who weren't undead. The ones which were undead but not undead. So alive.

The armored figure continued to chop away at the thinning ranks of undead. He was actually rather relieved. Not only had he found other people, but the undead weren't that numerous. It was a good day, for a change. ...Or at least it was until his sword broke. It had been quite old when he'd first received it; it was a miracle that the chipped length of metal had lasted for as long as it had.
Fuast examined the hilt in his hand, growling and tossing it aside. Instead, he took to killing with his gauntleted hands. It wasn't his preferred method, but with his sword broken, well... Yeah, I need to find another weapon now. Yipee for me. He was beating two heads against one another when he realized that there were only a few left.
Dropping the pulpy masses to the snow, he looked around. When one of the last dived for him, he stepped to the side and brought the back of his fist into its face, all in one motion. Once it fell, it was a simple matter of crushing the head beneath his boot. In a deep, unused sort of voice, he asked: "Either of you got a fire somewhere nearby? I've been out here a couple days."

"We've got ice-fire back at home.." Vinan said once the undead were gone. "..It's actually warmer than fire, assuming there's no sort of ice-resistant magic on you.. C'mon, I'll lead you to my igloo.. You can come too, person over there!"
He began to lead the way. As they walked he asked a question. "So why are you two out here? People usually stay away from us 'savages'."

(small note; be sure to read the Database. It holds things almost every Artruvian should know, as well as explain things we'll run across during the RP)

The man walked over and responded coldly with, 'No offense, but that's the reason that I'm out here. So that people might stay away from me.' It wasn't meant to be said unkindly. It was said to try and distance himself from them, so that he'd not be mourned. He'd not want to leave an imprint like that on people. Not the way he was.

The big man stared at the cloaked stranger. He took in the rejection of the fire, and shrugged. "Your call. I don't see any other way of surviving in this weather, though. You wanna die out here, I ain't your big brother. I'll take ya up on that fire, stranger."
As he was plied with questions, Fuast took some time to answer them. He wasn't particularly slow nor stupid, but the cold was a bit of a distraction. "Don't know about the guy over there, but officially I'm here to recruit. Unofficially, I'm here because the undead stay fresher. Killing them's kind of a hobby for me. It takes a while to get the juices out of my clothing in heat."
The armor was still growing colder, but walking helped a bit. The loss of his faithful sword troubled him, though. Without it, he'd have to rely upon his body to tear his enemies apart. It wasn't significantly more difficult, given his stature and skill, but it took less time with a weapon. Life he had. It was time he was short on.

He turned to the cloaked man. "If you're trying to get away from undead too, you're in the wrong place. They're all over here.. And don't worry, there aren't very many people. Just one other person.. You'll die if you stay out here. You don't know how to let the Ice take care of you." He turned to Fuast.
"So you like to kill the undead? Are you some sort of priest-warrior from the City? I've heard they're starting to recruit those. Try to get the sinned undead to reincarnate. A second chance.
..So you two got names? I'm Vinan."

'I'm not rejecting the fire, I'm just trying to stay away from certain individuals,' the cloaked man replied. He sighed, then said, '... My name's Jahev. Do whatever you desire with that name.'

The large Artruvian shrugged once more at the cloaked man's response. His feelings went pretty much as his words; he didn't know either man from Shara. To Vinan, his answer was a bit more fulsome. "Yeah; they're everywhere and they get underfoot. I'm no priest, though. Couldn't deal with all the vows. And honestly? I'd just as soon leave the dead to sleep. Nah, I'm not with a religion... Don't think I am, anyhow."
He shook his head in disgust of that aspect of their world. Religions were not institutions he held in high regard, preferring self-determination. "Name's Fuast. Thanks for the offer, by the way."

"Unless you're trying to avoid my 'father' you should be fine. ..It's just us two.. The rest of our village died.. By my mother, I think.. Name's Vinan. And yeah, you're welcome anytime. As long as you aren't causing trouble. As they spoke a small house made of snow came over the horizon. "That's it.." As they arrived Vinan knocked on the door. It opened, and the man from before answered.
"Vinan?"
"It's okay if I let some people in? They don't know how to survive here."
"Yeah." He looked to the two behind Vinan. "Name's Darial. 'Welcome."
