Don knows the Gingerbread Man??? Poor squirrel...

User Image

Jarron

┏━━━━━━━━━┓

The red head kept a tight grip on his knife and started sprinting northward bound, trying to avoid the trees in his way. 'The tables have turned this night...hunter turned prey in a flash.'he thought, while still maneuvering around the stationary obstacles as the wolf chases him. Jarron completely unaware of the fact that his quarry was planning cornering him inside it's 'den'.

He could hear wood being split apart right behind as his legs continued propelling him forward,'He's actually comparing me to The Gingerbread Man...'the hunter thought, before hearing Don's other comment and picked up pace then slid into a large bush.

Jarron carefully and quietly flipped onto his stomach while underneath the thick foliage just in time to see his quarry turn his attention onto a defenseless squirrel. 'Huh? He already switched targets...Rest in piece little squirrel, but at least you died in vain.'he thought after seeing the furry little creature's life be ripped to shreds by the beast's fangs. The steel grey eyed man quietly removed himself from the bush once Don had ran off chasing birds in the distance. "So, the hunt riles him up and anything runs pass him or catches his eye he'll chase and makes sure it's torn to pieces."Jarron mumbled quietly to himself, before heading in the opposite direction his prey went to find some shelter to plan out his traps. He was unaware about one thing: his eye patch that always covered his right eye was hanging off of a branch on the bush he hid under.

Flavor of Mitch

As we go on we remember all the times we had together…

Meanwhile, the boys had been hard at work on the news of a big-wig hunter on the mountain. “Mitch-for the love of crap…slow down,” Ian managed to whine between wheezing pants for breaths, climbing the trail with his hands on his knees. He was easily the most out of shape, sorry but the herb is only effective as a performance enhancer for downhill sports, not mountain hiking. Koda was a very close second, having been a rising Basketball player in high school and still quite active with his old friends from the team that played in the park on weekends.

Breath in through your nose and out your mouth, it helps,” Koda suggested holding his knees to for a moment’s breath, letting Ian catch up. True each of them were at different stages of health, packing the same amount of supplies but Mitch was the only one with a proper gun. Before they had started the trek up the mountain less than two hours behind Jarron, they had loaded up on weapons and protections specific to their task of protecting the Great White Wolf. Each of them packed silver in different forms, big blades to slow the beast down, ammunition for the gun, survival supplies to wait the mutt out, but most importantly they had a way to ward the wolf off and stop him from touching them. It was a pasty creamlike lotion made from a tea weeded from dried Wolves Bane petals that can only be refined by a Grand White Witch…like Ian’s grandmother. It smelled nice to humans, no bad repercussions to the humans that wore it but it was a foul stench to the wolf.

Both of you can your bitchin’ and move,” Mitch barred his teeth at the two a long distance down the trail from him, not stopping once to reflect on the fact that he’d swore for the first time in months. He was just as out of breath as the other two but he wasn’t slowing down for anything. True all he had to offer to the group was an old shot gun but they didn’t have his drive. Ian had his connections with blood ties to a wiccan coven, Koda was a the half Asian brain tank athlete, but Mitch was the grunt. Born to a Gang tied drug dealer, Mitch was born in East LA already in the gang life before he knew another way, seen s**t he still won’t talk about. He was selling heroin to weirdoes in back allies by the time he was 14 which is why he did 2 years in Juvenile Hall and forced to move to Idaho with his mother. Music and Jesus saved his life but at the end of the day he still has to admit to himself that he needs Donald around to keep his faith. The boy was a world of trouble he wasn’t ready for and he still saw him as the angel heaven sent down just for him. Monster or no, he didn’t care how many people he shredded, nobody was going to mess with his little buddy and get away with it while he still had strength enough to twitch a finger. “Pick up the pace!

He could hear the waterfall now. They were close to the halfway point and inside Don’s territory. They had to step up the pace or they might be too late. God, Mitch prayed they weren’t too late. “
Ya’know, if we’re this close to the Falls shouldn’t we be more quiet,” Koda asked a very sensible question and for it got a very smart answer as Ian passed him.

Good point, shut up…I think I’ve got friction burn on the twins,” Ian grimaced as he waddled, already hating being forced into sobriety.

Mitch stopped suddenly, having heard something in the distance, holding up a fist meant to tell the other two to stay quiet and stop but they didn’t understand the gesture. “
I think I brought ointment for that,” Koda was the first strike of irritation as Mitch took the safety off his double barrel weapon.

Really? Way to think ahead-” Ian was cut off before he could finish his d**k joke by Mitch throwing a rock at the pair of them and hissing a barely discernible demand for silence they instantly heeded with no further miss understandings. They watched their leader closely and ducked into the brush when he did, hiding from the thing running towards them that was too small to be Don. Mitch counted down the seconds until the interloper was right up on the tree, rounding it with the curvature of the bark and ramming the stock of his gun in Jarron’s face instantly putting him on his back from the swift force of his running coupled with Mitch’s stopping impact.

Looking down on a bloodied but unbroken face, Mitch didn’t waste many words, just growled out his follow up greeting, “
Where’s the wolf?” Just for a show of how serious Jarron’s situation was, Mitch pulled both hammers back and pointed the barrels at the younger’s torso with both hands of the pump action gun and the finger itchy against the triggers. He said his peace, the gun did the rest.

I told you to watch your back brah, why you no listen,” Ian, never one to listen, had run up the trail once he recognized Jarron from the herbal haze. He shook his head standing over him now as he reflected on the warning he’d given Jarron earlier. Koda was right behind him and really wanted to comment on his horrible grammar but also shook his head, sucking his cheeks knowing it wasn’t worth the oxygen it took anymore.

I wonder what's scarier Mitch with a gun or with a rolling pin?

Jarron

┏━━━━━━━━━┓

Jarron continued running in the direction of the fall, before taking a moment to stop and listened for any large padded steps coming towards him. 'Coast is clear...the beast must be still preoccupied with his current prey, it would be best if I hauled a** to a secure location and make a plan.'he thought, before taking another glance around then started running again. This hunter will be unknowingly running into a 'nice' surprise, in fact three 'nice' surprises.

The red head's mind was trying wrap itself several ideas that could possible leave the white wolf vulnerable before he strike it down, 'I could try catching a few of the small woodland creatures and use them as live bait or light up bunch of cigarettes and place them in several different directions...'he thought, not paying attention carefully to his surroundings as he usually would. The sound of the water had finally reached his ears before being blindsided by a butt of a shotgun swung into his face. Jarron felt warm blood pouring from his nose as he was sprawled onto his back with his long hair surrounding his head like a scarlet sheet.

The hunter heard the question and he was close to answering right when the slightly older male already cocked back the hammers on the gun, 'Someone's trigger happy...'he thought, staring at the double barrel aimed at his mid-section. Jarron stared up at Mitch actually not caring if he had a gun cocked and loaded, since he had been in several different situations similar to this one,"Your wolf pal is 'frolicking' after the small animals and is unharmed."he said, still oblivious to the fact his eye patch that usually covered his right claw scarred lighter steel grey eye was missing.

He glanced to the remaining duo of this trio and sighed out of annoyance, seeing the herbal smoker standing in front of him. "Why am I not surprised you'd be out here..."the pinned red head said after hearing Ian's little comment.

Flavor of Mitch

As we go on we remember all the times we had together…

Through the dark of the forest at night, Mitch could see the truth in Jarron’s one eyed face. Don was still on the loose but that was still no comfort.

If Jarron were paying attention to everyone like he should have been, he’d have seen it when the realization finally hit Koda. His fellow red head was suddenly very scared looking at the gun his friend lead on their captive. Mitch was a loose cannon when it came to protecting Donald and while Ian was thinking it too, Koda was the only one worried that Mitch might actually shoot Jarron just for the threat of living. “
Um, guys…what, exactly, are we going to be doing here? With him I mean?

Addressing his friend in the back of the trio, Ian pretended to think about it with a duck-face, mocking the question, “
Yep, pretty sure Mitch’s gonna blow him to two big pieces and few good dozens little ones that are gonna be over there, over there and up there…Or we’re gonna tie him to a tree and let Don take care of the mess. Personally I kinda like the idea of mountain man barbeque. Long Pig’s good eatin’ when fire roasted.

Ian had hit the nails of Mitch’s thoughts right on the head, the smartest thing to do here was to kill Jarron before he could kill Don. Yet there was hesitation there, a struggle of morals in Mitch that Jarron would know to well. His chance at life was 50/50 and completely in the elder gunman’s hands. Koda however, didn’t think it was all that funny. Slack jawed and staring at Ian, he pushed Ian enough to disrupt the herbalist’s balance, “
The ******** is wrong with you?

Two conversations happening at once and here they converge as Mitch makes up his mind with an audible sigh. He put the hammers back and moved the gun away to bend, offering his arm to Jarron to help him up. “
Oh thank god.

…you understand he’s going to kill Donald the first chance he has right,” Ian asked, his own brand of serious coming out. Practicality was harsh and if he had to kill this man to keep his friend alive he would have sullied his hands already. He really thought Mitch was practical too…then he gave his answer.

We’ll make Donald cry if we did,” For such a gruff guy, edgy hair cut and a big gun, he left his sensitive side showing. Donald hated violence. That was the part that hurt him the most about his condition but at least it was still contained to him. Mitch understood that if they killed for him too, they’d be killing him same as Jarron. Even if they tied him up and left him for Don to find in the night, just knowing his friends had a part to play in his murder would have been a betrayal they couldn’t forgive themselves for because he’d find a way to still love them in spite of it all. For the second time in their lives, Koda and Mitch saw Donald put shame back in Ian.

Meanwhile, the wolf in question was circling back around with an Elk bounding away from his claws. Cornered it rounded and took it’s chances charging back to ram it’s antlers in the big brute’s face! It’s last act of bravery hit home and forced Don to sit for a moment with the Elk’s head in his jaws, the body twisted like a pretzel with legs. His nose tingled from all the blood spurted upon it, causing him to sneeze and drop the carcass.
Someone but be thinking about us, Donald thought in the brief moment of clarity. He wasn’t able to do much but his thoughts were at least still his own.

What,” Don was confused and cared a lot less about being heard talking to himself.

It’s an old saying; if you sneeze it means a loved one is thinking about you. I thought you knew everything I knew, Donald joked with him, pleased that he’d gotten a jab in at the beast, a bit of that medicine he dished all the time.

Keep your useless-” Don started and got side tracked with a familiar scent that he’d smelled not long ago. Nicotine…it was in the bush…but less human than there was earlier. Digging around in the bush suppressing his human half, he found the source. An old eye patch from his hunter friend, laughing to himself he assumed the neighborly thing to do with it was return it to the owner. Picking it up he sniffed out for the trail Jarron left him to track and took off again, putting the rattle in the rocks and disrupting birds as they flew over head of the gang by the falls to scared to fly straight without bumping into each other.

Start moving up the mountain. Do it now,” Mitch stated observing the birds. All of them should have gotten the message but Ian and Koda made sure Jarron didn’t argue with the choice of direction by pushing him up the trail.

Jarron

┏━━━━━━━━━┓

The hunter didn't back down on his one eyed stare, intending to prove he told the entire truth on the matter. Besides the white wolf was a much bigger problem to deal with.

He took his stare off of 'Mr. Trigger Happy' and glanced up at the moonlight sky. 'The sky seems much easier to see up here. The stars must be much brighter on this mountain than the town.'Jarron thought, before his attention had switched back to the trio standing above him after hearing the youngest looking of three spoke. 'Well that's one out of four living beings that doesn't seem to want to end my life tonight...'

Jarron finally felt his nose stop bleeding and wiped away the excess blood on his right hand. He wasn't bothered by Ian's first answer of what his fate will be, but his response to the second choice was completely different. The mental wall he put up between the present and past events was chipped slightly. The hunter just gently reached into his left pocket and touched his sister's hairpin to calm himself before he could have had another mental breakdown.

"...I can tell you're being eaten whether or not to kill me to protect your friend or let me live, but whatever your decision it will mark or scar you for the rest of your days..."Jarron told Mitch in very serious tone, staring directly at him not paying attention at all to the other conversation going on at the same time.

Jarron got his answer when the drummer offered his hand to him of course, not wanting to step on anyone's toes at the moment accepted the help. The habitual smoker really felt need to light a cigarette, but fought against that urge already knowing it caused him to be found by his quarry and almost slashed into a bloody mess. He quietly leaned against a tree and listened to Ian and Mitch have a small quarrel over him.'This Donald person seems to have a lot of influence on these three, especially if two of them were considering to kill me or have the 'beast' shred me to pieces. Definitely, a very deep bond between friends that seems it'll never break.'

The red head realized there was more air hitting his face more than usual, 'Odd, I know that the wind hasn't picked up around here. My eye patch might have shifted a bit when I slid under that bush...S***! My patch is gone that's definitely not a good sign at all.'he thought, while touching the right side of his face. His mind forgot about all his patch when he heard the frantic flapping of birds, "...At least I know the location of my eye cover..."he mumbled, before being pushed up the mountain by Koda and Ian. "You know your friend back their is searching for me, so I'm just a 'liability'." Jarron said, almost expecting them to change their minds and leave him there to deal with Don.

Flavor of Koda

I can not begin to describe the hunger that I feel...

It had been decided, Jarron was to live and Koda wasn’t about to let him talk them out of it, “Relax guy, we came prepared for that one.

YOU BROUGHT THAT STUPID-!” Ian was very much tired of running period top that with an uphill slop and having to turn and yell at his friend for idiocy really took its toll on his ability to breathe.

All the same Koda sounded quite proud of himself, “
Yes I did!

Mitch was out front with Jarron a close second, his gun carried at a safe angle in his arms, ready to fire if he needed it, “
It won’t work Koda-

You didn’t think my other idea was all that dumb-” Koda argued starting to sound pissed over all the hate in the air right then.

Silver shavings in the shells made sense, that one doesn’t,” Mitch put an end to it, put from the look on Koda’s face he was only biting his tongue and planning something big in spite of the over whelming lack of faith.

Should there be any questions from Jarron, Mitch would answer him to the best he could while avoiding the topic of Koda’s quiet genius. He explained about the bunker and how Don couldn’t get in there. The odds of them getting there before the wolf got to them was far higher than if they had gone down the mountain. He pushed them hard and got them a quarter of the way to their destination before the trees crashing announced that Don had finally caught up to them. “
Everyone get out front, double time! I’ll hold him off-,” Mitch barked orders like he was used to it and fell to the back, facing the oncoming enemy already set to shoot.

Ian had to push Koda and tugged at Jarron to help him, “
I’m telling you, it’ll work! Trust me!
GET HIM TO THE BUNKER,” Mitch was done with Koda’s idea more than Ian was done with running. Especially now that he could see the huge bulk of white fur bounding for them, obvious recognition in its beastly yellow eyes not at all the cool blue of the friend everyone loved.

Don wasn’t getting tired, if anything the exertion made him all the more energetic! He kept the scent of his prey in his teeth fully intending to “return” it to him but once he caught up to the place where he had shed blood, there were new scents that were even more delicious to his senses. Those three…there were no humans he wanted to shred more than them! Donald’s pack was on the mountain and their scents he could follow well after months of weather, nothing like love to bring people together. It took barely any time at all to follow them up the mountain and sure enough their they were,
No…please no…why would they come here…with a gun…why does Mitch have his gun? Don didn’t give a damn, they would be dog food soon enough.

Mitch pulled the trigger but nothing happened. The gun had jammed when he pistol whipped Jarron in the face, “
s**t!” He turned just in time to catch Koda stepping up to play the hero no one believed in to save the day. He had pushed his way passed Ian and Jarron enough to get a clear shot at Don, having pulled something that looked like a metal cased ball point pen from his coat pocket. One click and a beam of red light streaked across Don’s eyes, blinding him enough to stop him in his tracks while making him that much more insane with anger. He had brought a damned laser pointer! That was his genius move…and it was working!

As soon as Don’s vision corrected he found that little glowing dot between his paws. It was so pretty, enchanting and hypnotizing…he had to eat it. Don went after the dot digging teeth into the earth to catch the dot but all he got was a mouth full of dirt! The dot was fast and had escaped him to a tree! Whatever, the lovly, tasty looking thing couldn’t out run him forever!

From up the hill, all the boys but Koda was staring but couldn’t explain what it was they were seeing. With a flick of the wrist and a fresh set of batteries, Koda, the brain tank, had Don practically chasing his tail! “
Yall get up the mountain, I’ll hold him off,” he didn’t have to say how long he’d been waiting to say that, it was evident in his tone.

...Run if you intend to survive for the beast is here

Jarron

┏━━━━━━━━━┓

Just when he was about to tell them to cut him loose his fellow red head made it clear they weren't going to throw him to the beast.

The hunter was a bit confused on what the herbal smoker was complaining about before he had gotten short of breath, 'What exactly are these three talking about...should I even ask?'Jarron thought, while standing behind Mitch as they had a disagreement about over whatever the youngest of the trio could have possibly brought then disregarded for the moment.

The habitual smoker decided ask the eldest of the group a few questions about why they decided to go up higher on the mountain instead of down. 'Well that answers all of my questions.'he thought, while listening his quick explanations of the bunker and the wolf's size being a disadvantage to getting in the bunker. Jarron heard the cracking of a few trees nearby,"'Moby''s here, so why you three let me be Captain Ahab and all of you get out of here..."

The steel grey eyed male noticed no one even tried listening to him when Mitch started barking orders and Ian pulling as well pushing the other red head up the mountain.

Jarron glanced at the beast bounding towards them, seeing a familiar crazed look that he had seen before in his prey several times. 'Definitely not good for them to be out here...' he thought, before seeing Koda rush passed him and Ian, "Are you trying get yourself killed?! Don't be a hero!!the hunter said, before being the surprise of his life.

'...He's distracting it with a laser pointer...'Jarron thought, while watching the unbelievable scene in front him.
