Tollemiir slid the stylus smoothly between his talons twirling it around before tossing it high in the air spinning rapidly. Right after that he threw each cup into the air. With lightning reflexes he caught each cup scooping them through the air and around his body in a graceful display of furious motion. In one of the cups the stylus had already been caught. With each cup face down now he moved them each about the other so rapidly his hands were a blur. One cup to the left three to the right one back one forward two switched then all around each other in complex and complicated patterns so fast one might be worried the friction would catch the table on fire... It was all done in a moment and at the end each cup was perfectly alongside the others looking no different from the others next to it. Tollemiir waited with a grin for the Hermia to make her choice.

The Hermia just stared, jaw dropped at this sudden display of slight of hand and skill. She stared wide eyed in shock as he not only caught all eight of them but whipped them about the table so fast it was a blur. When he stopped she just stared...
The green haired Hermia burst out laughing. Oh! Oh! You just CAN'T say no to a bet can you! Oh, the look on your face Belgrana! she taunted the steel haired Hermia.
Oh, shut it Charstar! YOU'RE makeup isn't on the line here! The other retorted as she looked hard at the cups, almost as if she was trying to will them to reveal her prize.
Finally she sighed and picked one at random, the second to last on the left... She started to swear when it wasn't there.
Meanwhile, Firespark's eyes nearly bugged out of his head at Tollemiir's display of skill... he watched the whole display eagerly with a big grin on his face.

Tollemiir chuckled. "Don't feel bad, I didn't know where it was either. So lets find out." One by one he turned each cup until revealing it was under the last cup on the left right next to the one Belgrana had chosen. Tollemiir picked up the stylus and handed it to Firespark. "Enjoy noble scholar and gentleman. And Belgrana you were damn close remember that; don't feel bad. If anyone asks this all never happened and you never knew me. I think that's an easy request for you." Tollemiir then got up and began heading for the control room.

Firespark followed behind, grinning big. He was playing with the stylus, making his scales all different colors. He finally for the moment, settled on being an obnoxious, eye searing yellow... he was giggling like a child all the while...
~~~
A few minutes later Tollemiir and Firespark found themselves in the control room. The captain was at the helm, looking over a large map, while the rest of the officers manned levers and other controls. He was chatting with the Vespaleen, who was sitting on his shoulder again.
We've travelled a days worth already... think we should try submerging next? He asked her...
"Why not? The only thing to fear is massive decompression! which of course would send us all to our water filled horrible deaths. I say you go for it captain!" Spoke Tollemiir as he entered the control room with his newly colored companion as well as Maggie still perched on his shoulder. Tollemiir looked around to see how the crew and everyone were adjusting to the new way of things...
The Minotaur turned and eyed Tollemiir, his ears wiggling. He had worked with Tollemiir long enough over the past three days to know that the bird was just messing with him... at least he hoped. He snorted.
He reached forward and pulled a tube forward, which he spoke loudly into it.
We are testing out the submersion capabilities. Prepare to dive!
The crew started to swarm around, preparing the ship for submersion, by pulling levers and checking seals.
One by one the other sections of the ship reported in positive.
Hold on to your hats! Said the captain, grinning, his tail wiggling about.
One could feel the ship start to descend, tilting forward ever so slightly. The crew all had their eyes on the front window as they clung to various surfaces...
Fire spark didn't even bother holding on, instead he started to float next to Tollemiir while sitting in the Lotus position...
Tollemiir braced himself the only way he knew which was to relax into the momentum of the dive and ride the forces in calm and stillness. he gently put a hand on Firespark's shoulder to reassure him.
Firespark waved his tail and gratefully held onto Tollemiir's arm.
They hit the water and the ship shuddered, jerking out from under mostly everyone's feet. Tollemiir, from being so used to it, didn't falter, but mostly everyone in the room seemed to jerk against what they were holding onto... Save for the Captain, who was standing as sturdy and sure footed as ever.
Once the ship had straightened out, the cabin filled with blue light. Silvery blue flickering and shifting light filled the control room from the main window and the port holes, bathing everything in azure color.
Below and around the ship, visible from the windows, was a massive coral reef, of pinks and greens and blues and yellow, of all different shapes and textures. Fish of all types, colors, shapes and sizes slipped in and out of the coral as it was their home.
The crew straightened themselves up, before looking about in awe...
I've listened to Nagas describe the waters below the surface... but I never thought I'd see it... Breathed Firespark as they looked about.
The ship was only about 5 feet below the surface, but it was still enough to get a clear view of the coral reef below...
"Captain there is a light barrier at a specific depth of the ocean where the light cannot penetrate the water. At that point I suggest we use the ocular assistance projective luminescent assistors. They will provide great assistance in viewing in the dark zone. You may also want to reduce turbine output. this ship was made first for water, those turbines work harder when were air born... but with all our weight supported by water and six turbines spinning so hard... Well lets just say that I have enough confidence in you as the captain to understand what that means." Tollemiir had seen undersea depths before but not this worlds and was very interested what secrets it may hold. He smiled at Firespark to show he shared in his wonder at the new prospects of the journey.
The captain's ear swiveled and the Bull of Minos nodded.
Reduce Turbine output by 20%. He ordered, before slightly adjusting his course on the ship's wheel. One could hear the hum of the engines slow some, and the feeling of the ship slowing a bit... enough to be safe and steerable, at least.
The crew that wasn't actively doing anything were gathered around the portholes and window, all except for the Nagas... who were from their reactions so used to the sight that they were busy checking out every one else's behinds.
Firespark grinned at him before floating over to a nearby porthole, and putting his nose up against the glass. He found himself staring at a bright blue angel fish which was watching the ship go by.
Tollemiir nodded confident everything was under control as he went over to join Firespark. "So, have you ever gone under water at all? Even for an ocean swim before?" Tollemiir looked out to see if he could spot any kind of sea things he had never seen before...
We would go swimming during the rainy season in my homeland. It would rain so much that you'd have to use bamboo walkways or small rafts to move about because the trees would be halfway submerged in the water. I remember one rainy season where the water was nearly touching the bottoms of our grown homes! the Ursurka did not like that season. Not at all.
He watched a cloud of silver fish swim up, along, and around the massive ship, before swimming away.
I know a water breathing spell... though we had to be careful as it's harder to cast underwater, and the snakes that like to swim around during the rainy season are quite aggressive. I've tried using the spell to swim about in the ocean before... Needless to say, the spell needs some tweaking for saltwater.
Tollemiir could see some odd people swimming about among the reef... they were human in appearance from the top up, but they had pale scaly skin, pale hair, and long finned fishtails. They had harpoons and spears and they looked to be hunting.
"Well icthyosapiants live in these oceans too!... (Tollemiir then rose up his hand to them) Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!" He spoke through the porthole as he looked at the mer-people.
Firespark blinked at Tollemiir and stared at him.
Sir, why are you trying to speak that horrible mind bending gibberish at the Merfolk!? He asked, startled.
The Merfolk heard (as sounds travel quite well through water) and they looked up from their hunting. They looked at each other, back towards the massive ship where the sounds were coming from, before seeming to somehow vanish into the reef...
Meanwhile, the crew was starting to give Tollemiir a very wide berth...
Tollemiir looked around at everyone's reactions. "What?! I just spoke a common phrase in their peoples native tongue! I swear that's all!" He held up his hands in a gesture of peace at Firespark and the crew.
