Webbs was on the side of the building by the time Arell had jumped out of the dumpster. Much easier for her to move around there. She watched as he went straight for another window rather than engage with her. She blinked once, but relaxed from her perch on the wall. "Well... that was anticlimactic..." she mumbled. Then she sighed and gently crawled down towards the window she was meant to protect. "Well... guess I have to go in after him anyway..." she muttered as she slid the window open and crawled inside.
Waiting in a chair at the far side of the room was a woman wearing a dark red suit. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a tight bun, and a pair of dark sun glasses hid a faded scar that ran across her right eye. "Did he run?" she asked as the costumed woman walked into the room.
"No, he chose another window." Webbs replied as she headed towards the door. "I'm gonna put a web over the outside of the window and wait outside the door. If he tries to open the window I'll know. If he comes up the hall, I'll put all my energy into keeping him out." she said.
"Very well. Just don't let him kill you. I heard the gun shot." the woman said.
"Of course... won't get much if my payment goes to the hospital." Webs said with a grin as she moved outside of the room.

Two flights of stairs (and a couple times getting lost in the big building) later, Arell finally made it to the fourth floor. Ha! Betcha that crazy ol' spider-lady's still waiting for me outside! he thought as he checked his watch.
Okay, still a half hour to go 'til he made it in. Be fashionably late? Surprise Savage? Go swat the spider? Arell, whatcha gonna do?!
I'm workin' on that part! Gonna surprise the hell outta him. That neanderthal doesn't even know who he hired! he thought with a devious chuckle. "Dis' gonna be like takin' candy from a baby." he drawled.

Webbs, meanwhile, was waiting on the ceiling of the fourth floor. Just enough of a nitch for her to hide in where most people wouldn't think to look up. Just enough of a nitch for her to see the entire hallway. If the guy came up the hallway, she would see him. If he came through the window, she would feel it and know to go back inside the room. Either way, she got a bonus for extra credit. And if she could show that she was making an effort to keep the guy out, this broke girl was going to earn a little something special for herself...
Now... what to do when the guy did come up...?

Arell centered through the hall when he paused just short of it. This looked TOO easy. He'd have to set up a diversion . . . a diversion that could only mean . . .
Arell checked his pockets. Bus tokens, cell phone . . . AHA! He pulled out a crude smoke bomb. Quickly lighting it, he chucked it as he waited for the fuse. It wouldn't be too long before the hall would be covered with smoke. If he could just use that cover to slide into the room . . .

Webbs sat in the little nitch on the ceiling, quietly waiting and watching for something to happen. There was nothing going on in the hallway, no movement, no pulling on the window, nothing. Just peace, quiet, and smoke.
... wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, WAIT! What the heck!
With a growl, she focused her attention on the small smoke bomb. It didn't come from her way, so it had to have come down the other end of the hall. Concentrating her mental energy right by the ball, she knocked it back towards the hall. Sending it rolling back the way it came.

Arell growled when the smoke started heading back his way, kicking it forward, he decided to bolt down the hall at full tilt. Since the distraction didn't work, he didn't have much of a choice but to book it towards the conference hall. Goddamn! Why in the HELL did I take up this damn job?! he asked himself as he darted into the room, doing a baseball slide through the doorway . . . smirking as he got to his feet.
Well, that's ONE obstacle down! he thought.

Unfortunately, the conference hall was empty. The only thing for Arell there were half a dozen places to hide or take shelter. He still needed to get past whatever was in the hallway with him, and get inside the hotel room.
Something the spider lady wasn't about to let him do very easily.
Keeping to her perch on the wall, she moved her focus onto the doorway the man had just slid through. Webbing began to form around the edges of the wall and floor, and soon began weaving their way across to make a giant spider web across the door.

"What da HELL?!?" Arell yelped, trying to dodge the webs as he darted back out of the conference room, barely remembering to grab his hat, he hacked through the webs with his knife, growling, cursing and kicking himself. Goddamn sonuvamothaf*ckin' . . . oh CHRIST! he thought as he hacked and maneuvered his way, smirking as he tried the first room.
It was an old man with a cane?!? Walking towards the big Cajun, the man scowled.
"You young pup! How dare you trespa-!!!" the gentleman was interrupted by Arell closing the door and trying the next one.
"Nope! Not dat one . . . maybe . . ." He said aloud as he opened the next one . . . only to close the door as fast as he had opened it, blushing . . . he should have realized there was a "do not disturb" sign on the door. . . . oops." he said as he tried the next door . . . opening it he revealed . . .

... what seemed to be an utterly empty hotel room. The lights were off, the curtains closed, the chairs empty, the other doors of the room closed... just nothing. Though, the sudden tight grip around Arell's arms and torso were certainly something.
Glowing blue webbing had wrapped itself around the man's upper body. And once it was secured, it began pulling him back out of the doorway. Not yanking him or trying to toss hi into a wall or anything that would be considered an attack. They just didn't want him to be near the door.
Webbs meanwhile was sitting perched in her corner still. Rubbing her head and growling curses. She hadn't expected him to tear through her mental barrier so easily... gave her a bit of a headache when he did. That was fine... once he was away from the room, she'd be giving HIM a headache in return. With her fists. Probably followed by her foot.

Arell dug his feet in. He wasn't about to let this nuisance railroad HIM around and out of the shot of a lifetime! Taking one step at a time, he pulled against the webs before he got a fistful. Smirking, he pulled back. The Cajun Outlaw was going to attend this meeting, spider be damned. Of course, Webbs wasn't the only one growling curses. In fluent French, he growled out obscenities slung out at the FREQUENT interruptions to his hunting trip, to his lack of monetary funds, to the spider who was getting on his last damn nerve and ESPECIALLY to himself for returning to New Jersey. He had an amazing thing going back home.
He struggled and fought his way in. He was NOT going to make it easy on the one not making it easy on HIM.

The cursing from the spider grew louder the more the man pulled at her webbing. Enough so that it wouldn't be hard to figure out where she was hiding. Even less difficult to figure out once a black and blue clad figure dropped down from the ceiling and landed behind the Cajun.
One of the downsides of giving the woman a headache was that she tended to get... grumpy when she had a head ache. Easily pissed off when it was a migraine. And this man was turning into a migraine.
She tossed out another little insult at him before she dropped down onto the ground. One quick leg sweep under the man's legs, along with her STILL pulling at him with her webbing... should send him into the wall on the other end of the hall.
Or at the very least give him a good crack in the shins. Either would make her feel a bit better at least.

However . . . when she hit the floor behind him, he spun around and let himself get pulled forwards, unleashing a sledgehammer blow courtesy of the Cajun's big, heavy fist, leaping at her to give that locomotive punch some more power behind it. Sure, he'd kick himself for this later, but THIS was turning into a hassle.

Webbs hadn't been expecting him to simply turn around as he did. His lunge, powered by her mental pull against him, helped to make his surprise attack... more than just a little successful. As the punch connected with the side of her face, the woman yelped and was knocked back. Hitting the ground hard, her webs continued to fling Arell into the wall opposite of them. Luckily for him, the webs wouldn't be around long enough to trap him against the wall as she had planned on.
She'd couldn't say she'd ever been punched that hard before. The moment she hit the ground, her webbing vanished from the other man. Dazed, hurting, and watching the floor spin in circles around her, she couldn't help but take a momentary time out to try and get her head back about her.

Arell got up to his feet after he hit the ground. He had forgotten to put a foot down to stop himself, so the follow through (and the initial launch) had threw him off. Gaining to his feet he looked her over and went to grab a small hand towel from an empty room and some ice from the machine. Oddly enough, it wasn't for him. It was for his adversary. He didn't even know her name!
"Didn't mean t' lay it on ya dat hard, che'. Heah . . . hold dat t' yer jaw an' jes' relax." he drawled. "Gon' have t' watch m'self next time." he said to himself as he tried to find the room he needed.

By the time Arell had made it back to Webbs, the room had finally stopped spinning. Unfortunately that allowed the physical shock of what had just happened to set in. The sudden snap of her head to one side... bone hitting her jaw and cheekbone... didn't feel any pain in her teeth yet. Hopefully he didn't crack anything. She sensed movement next to her, and tried to jump back up to her feet. Making it only as far as on her hands and knees. Groaning the entire way up. Damn she needed to work on rolling with punches if she was going to do this costume thing to pay the bills... so used to ranged fighting thanks to her powers. Too used to range fighting. She felt the cold towel on the side of her face, then stopped trying to get away from the man just long enough to look up at him. He was... helping her. He... really? Webbs hissed a bit as she took the towel from him and held it against her face. "Gah.... ow.... th-thanks..." she muttered. Well... guess this sort of called for a truce. A momentary one at least. She wasn't going to do much with her head still spinning. And he just helped her... so.... "... it was the room you were just trying to get into. She's back in the lounge area. The room is a lot larger than it looks from the doorway..." she mumbled.
