Otto grunted, staggering backward from the hit, but kept moving as he gained some distance. He twirled Tenya around his head once, twice, and then hurled her through the air toward Molly and her weapon.

Molly let out a yelp as Otto threw his weapon, and once again, brought hers up diagonally to block the attack, which it did. At the cost of another large chunk of her FEAR shield. Once his weapon was out of her line though, it was time to go in. Even though it had been a while, Molly remembered what it felt like to have a low FEAR shield.
The runes on her weapon grew brighter, and the drill bit of her weapon whirled to life, letting out a metallic scream she hadn’t heard in a while. She then charged the boy again, pulled back her weapon, and thrust it at him.

Tenya couldn't come back soon enough, he had no time at all to dodge the screaming drill headed straight for him. Instead, he moved to block. He wasn't sure if it was Tenya in his head screaming out in pain or if it was his won sudden shriek. But it hurt. it hurt a lot.
Otto grit his teeth tightly, willing himself to lift Tenya high above him despite the pain. Her runes burned a ferocious red. With Molly so close, he couldn't throw her like he preferred to, so instead wielded her much like a baseball bat, slamming her from the side with a blast of energy.

Of course with her weapon out and forward, Molly was wide open for any side attacks, which was exactly what Otto dished out. The Mist trainee felt like she had the air knocked out of her lungs as Tenya swiped her, and she felt her FEAR shield neatly crack and shatter. Molly was swept to the side by the force of the impact as well, but luckily she avoided hitting the ground by bracing herself on her weapon, letting the tip slide against the ground before they both settled.
A moment went by, and then Molly released a loud breath.
Her limbs felt a bit shaky, but there was this feeling in her gut that just said that was a good spar. A really good spar. After a moment, she de-summoned her weapon, the monster lance slipping back onto her wrist as a gold coiled bracelet with a green gem. Molly then offered a wide smile to Otto, bracing her hands on her knees while she caught her breath.
“Th-that was great! Thank you so much!”

Otto held Tenya out in wait as Molly stopped, waiting until she de-summoned her weapon. He dismissed Tenya, the totem now dangling around his neck as a necklace. "You're welcome, I guess." It had been a close one, really. He'd have been peeved if a less experienced hunter had beat him, honestly.
"Why the sudden interest in a spar?" He asked curiously, slowly walking over to her. "You always seem to be taking it easy."

Molly continued resting her weight on her hands, taking in a few more deep breaths until she straightened herself out.
She gave the boy a bit of a sheepish chuckled. “Y-yeah…that’s it exactly! I’ve been taking it too easy lately…and now I want to start training more to earn my promotion to Hunter!” She smiled. “So I figured I was really out of shape, so I needed to start sparring regularly.” Though really, she gave a full Hunter a run for his money…she wasn’t as out of shape as she thought she was.

"Well, yer off to a damn fine start." Otto commented, raising his eyebrows and breathing out in a huff. She'd really made him work for that win. "I don't think you got much to worry 'bout."
Otto rubbed his neck, his gaze lowering to the ground. "So if that's all ya need, I'm gunna go nap."

Well…actually, receving praise from someone who ranked above her was very flattering! Molly blushed at Otto’s compliment. “Wo-wowzers…thank you, Otto! I really appreciate it.” She rubbed her cheek briefly, and looked like she wanted to ask something else. “A-ah…one more thing, please? I’ll make it quick! Ah…” She paused, wondering how to word this.
“Ah…” Her voice grew a bit quieter. “Could you…teach me how to…back flip…too?”

Otto waited, waiting for Molly to spit out what she wanted to say. To say he was surprised by her request was putting it mildly. Why would Molly want to learn something like that? "You wanna learn... backflips?" He asked, looking at her dumb stuck.

Molly took to idly pulling at her fingers as Otto absorbed her request, and she smiled nervously at the young man, nodding her head a bit. “Ye-yes…! Um…I mean…I figured it’d be good thing to learn…and I think trying new things while working my way to Hunter is a good thing…?”
Also, she just looked so hopeful.

Otto thought a bit, before shrugging his shoulders. "Sure. I'll try and teach you." Otto hardly considered himself the teaching type. All he could really do was show her stuff he'd learned.

Molly clapped her hands excitedly. “Oh, thank you so much!” She cried, elated. “I’m so excited, oh, thank you so much! I’ll do my best, I promise!” Molly then proceeded to gush to Otto the entire way back to the dorms about how excited she was, and that she would be ready to do this training when it fit his schedule.
