i dont like ragna much but ill try out hakumen !

My tips, based on how I use him. I always try to approach from the air.

You can either use a long distance attack, by simply air dashing and pressing "O", or, you can try a close range areial approach and use ↓+O or ▲, which usually helps defend you. Not as good as dashing and pushing ↓+◘, though

I found this on a forum for you.

Jin will be a familiar character if you've ever played Street Fighter. He basically has a Hadouken, a Tatsu, and a Shoryuken which all go off the same motions. He also has "EX" moves that use 25% of your meter for additional effects and damage. He's a solid character that thrives on tricks and cross-ups, and he has lots of tools at his disposal, but like the above poster said, avoid using the same move (i.e. Ice Car) repeatedly. It might work on a recreational level/against CPUs, but it doesn't help you improve and you'll get destroyed by players who know what they're doing.

Ragna is probably the easiest character in the game, with simple-yet-effective combos, the best DP, and easy hit confirms. He has one of the best grounded anti-airs, and a decent mix-up game. If you haven't played fighting games very much, he's a good character to learn the basics with. The downside is that he's easily the most overused character in the game-however, choosing to learn him will mean you'll get a better idea of what to look out for when facing him.

Noel is button-mash friendly in the beginning, since her Drive is essentially "combo mode." Naturally, her pressure, mix-up, and cross-up options are all pretty decent. However, she's a lot harder to get better with in Extend than she was in CT/CS/CSII, so if you'll want to overcome that barrier you'll need to work a bit harder than the previously mentioned two characters.

Really though, once you understand the basics, you can move on to whoever you'd like. Blazblue is a competitively balanced game, so every character is definitely viable. It really just comes down to who suits your playing style, and how much effort/time you're willing to put into learning him/her.

How was Hakumen? Did you find his fighting style to your liking?

Possibly. I mean Tager is the Zangief of Blazblue just like Jin is the Ryu.
But as far as Akumen goes, I'd have to say.

Because I also want to help, I went ahead and found this in a forum for you:
----------------------------
Bang is similar to Akuma in the following ways
He has:

teleport-guard-counter moves, you can choose the distance you teleport to.

He throws shuriken in an angle similar to Akuma's fireballs, one which poisons, one which ricochets and explodes, one which has spiderweb and ties the foe there for an instant and a triple attack that bounces on the floor and moves upwards.

An extra air dash

A super move which enables him to dash cancel anything and has a theme song start playing.

He's more rushdown than zoning since he only has 12 nails to use a round but he can zone for a limited time if you really need to.
------------------------------------------
Let's have a deep conversation about how we adapt to the characters once you're into it. By now, I assume that you've tried at least 5 characters and noticed that the same strategy won't work with another character. For example, I'm very good at rushing with hakumen.

Most of his strategies involve turtling o that his meter fills up.
I usually ignore that tactic and treat him as a normal fighter, because he seems strong enough without his meter.

Anyways, I tried to learn Ragna, to get my speed style going, and when I learned to be decent with ragna, I had realized that my skill with hakumen had gone down.

I knew what I was doing, but for some reason, I believe I was treating Hakumen's moveset as if it were Ragna's moveset, causing me to get a major a** kicking.

Now, for Safety reasons, I stick Mainly to Hakumen and have Tager as a Back up. Tager is much slower, but they move at about the same speed.

im gonna see if i can tear away from GTA V long enough to try CSE's version of Bang, i never really understood how the pegs work, not from like a " hey lets give ourself crossup opportunity" standpoint, but more like i questioned its existance. right now i think this games mechanics is leaving me disenchanted about learning .

Note on Tager: im willing to learn him, but he can dash. at all. and i dont know if its my lack of knowledge about him/ the mechanics of this game, but i worry for he escapes/evades being vortexed.

It happens. I ignored it for quite a while before I started getting into it. Tager is incredibly unique, though. He is the game's grappler, rendering him incredibly slow, but powerful.

You may have notived that the X version of his attacks always cause the opponent to be magnetized, right?

That is the compensation for him not being able to move freely. Alone, that skill can get you as close or as far as you need to be from your opponent.

Quite Frankly, it scares me whenever I get magnetized, because all his Grappling moves land alot easier.

The game separeates itself from alot of traditional fighting games, though. I owned a MvC3 along with this copy. The gameplay was VERY different despite them both being fighitng games.

I still have the old SNES Street fighter; "Street fighter 2: The World Warrior"

I managed to beat that game with Ryu after trying so hard to beat Bison.

Is it their play style?

GTA5? I was at gamestop and a mother was trying to buy it for her kids, who wanted extremely violent games. Poor kids didn't get it, because the mom had no idea what she was buying for them lolz.

is it good?

gta 5 is amazing, but if you had to buy a gta game for your kids... GTA 5 is definitely not one of the more tamer ones.. i mean... one of the characters, is introduced as hes banging some biker's girl, then he bashes in the bikers head. in the other GTAs... there is NOTHING like that intro lol.

characters classified as a shoto or shotokan character have a fireball, a tatsumaki ( whirlwind kick), and a shoryuken. ive heard its also cuz they wear a gi. it gets a lot more technical. xD wayyy more technical then i want to explain.

Been forever since I've been online on Gaia, but I had the biggest smile when I saw this thread as a new one on the Guilds' main page. I love BlazBlue and I've played it since January 9th, 2012 (I remember because it was the day before my birthday). I missed out on a lot of Calamity Trigger since everyone had moved onto Continuum Shift, soon after Extend the month after. I was rather eager to post, but I noticed that this is either listed down under the Playstation section since I saw someone post the controls with Triangle or Square, so it's my only assumption, but I play for Xbox, which makes me sad because Chrono Phantasma is supposedly only going to be for Playstation (which pisses me off as well since the Xbox version also has around 130,000 people on the highscores, so...yeah...). Moving onto characters though...I started with Haku-men and can say I sucked really bad with him. Then I moved onto Nu-13 and fell in love with her move set, as well as her overall character. And finally I started to use Ragna, Jin, Platinum, Haku-Men, Hazama, Lambda/Nu, Taokaka, and Arakune. And here I am now, making the third person to post on here because I'm the third one of that is going to feel bad for joining in and not understanding anything else that is being talked about, haha.
