Raitora put his hand on his chin as he heard what Kinto said in response. So he was like a cup that needed to be filled with knowledge? Well Kenjutsu was not his forte, but he figured he can help the kid mold his own way of the sword somehow, even with his comparatively limited knowledge. If only Michiko was here to help him. He wondered if she got sidetracked by a trip to the bar or someone had an issue they needed solved with her help. He just wanted to see her beautiful face again, it was always entertaining watching her wield a sword. In that field, she had him beat. She was always the one that was better at wielding weapons than he was. But he was better with his fists.
"Well then, let's see what would suit you best then?" Raitora said as he relaxed his body a little before pointing to the center of his stomach, "Hit me three times. As hard and fast as you can. No jutsus, no Raiken, just your raw muscle strength."
This would be a good way to judge how he can proceed with his Kenjutsu training in Raitora's opinion. If he can hit hard, perhaps a style based on power would be best for him. If he hits quickly, speed is more his game. If a mix of both, then he can work from there. This will determine what size sword he should use. Raitora, settling problems by being a punching bag.

❀ I don’t need to know right now, All I know is I believe… ❀
There were some reasons to love her job, and some reasons to hate it. The excessive amount of time it took to reach the training grounds was among the many reasons why she was none too pleased about being the focus of the village’s attention. Not only did she have the men she spent her time flirting with that would stop her in the streets to chat, pass a few flirtatious comments, or just a wolf whistle, but they were accompanied by the elderly who were begging for her interest in their lives. Then there were the small children who ran about her in circles and asked her to play games or show them tricks, and being as personable as she was Michiko rarely denied them. If she really weren’t in the mood to deal with them she might have taken the rooftops, but those were so far apart, and she really didn’t like to overexert herself on a stroll, especially not when there was a prospective training match at stake.
With all the people requiring her attention, it took quite some time for her to reach her destination, and by the time she did they were well into their training. Still, she had the opportunity to jump Raitora while his back was turned, training or not, so she took full advantage of it. Checking quickly to be sure no one was watching, Michiko finally took her chance and ran at her old friend, grabbing hold of his shoulders and pushing all of her weight onto him playfully. She didn’t apply an excessive amount of force, she preferred to startle him rather than hurt him, but it would have gotten his attention either way. Once her feet reconnected with the ground she kept her hands on his shoulders and tried to peak around him, looking to Kinto who seemed to be struggling with proper swordsmanship. That wasn’t to say the sword confused him, but his kenjutsu was lacking and he didn’t seem to know his way around it, like the style he was trying didn’t suit him.
That was something Michiko understood personally. She’d tried a lot of different styles, tried creating a few for the sake of differing from her brother and grandmother, but in the end the only thing that had really worked for her was what they’d been trying to teach her for a long time. At one point she’d faced the unfortunate added trouble of learning how to channel those techniques through her crystal weapon instead of just the regal metal sword she’d begun with, but they were all problems that could be overcome with time. That did not make her pitiless when it came to the boy, and in fact not only did she feel for him but she knew this would be a challenge for Raitora as well, as he was much more of a Taijutsu user than a kenjutsu based shinobi. She couldn’t help but turn a curious gaze toward Raitora, wondering how he intended to deal with it before she finally decided that chipping in might not be a bad idea on her part.
“Kinto-kun wants to learn Kenjutsu, huh? Can he at least wield the weapon, even if there’s no chakra used?” She questioned, looking between teacher and student curiously. Though they hadn’t had much time to talk, and no doubt Raitora was still getting used to his genin, she did feel he deserved a say in it. They were short on time for her to do any lengthy training with the boy herself, as evening wasn’t far off, but if he still needed to learn basics then she could handle that in a matter of minutes. Raitora was his sensei, it wouldn’t be appropriate for her to suddenly step in and take control of the boy’s education, but she did want to offer up her services. After all, anything sounded more entertaining than sitting in her office as she had been.

Kinto would nod at his sensei and get ready to punch. He then quickly punched two times at his Sensei his fist almost a blur and then came with a power punch for the last punch, the last punch was harder then the other two but slower. He then noticed the Raikage and listens to what she says then replys "I know how to use sword and all of the basics for using a sword." as he looked at the Raikage then back at his Sensei waiting for a repsonse.

It is said that a warrior can tell what another warrior feels within his soul by locking blades with him. Or in this case, letting one punch him. The first two punches were light, but quick and told him that Kinto was pretty fast. The last one told him that the young boy, for his age, possessed at least above average strength. They didn't really hurt him, but Kinto would likely have to shake his hands a little. Raitora's body was at the peak of physical perfection, as strong and fast as any Taijutsu Master, without utilizing Kinjutsu like the Eight Gates. So hitting his body was like hitting a steel girder. It was an odd way of judging a swordsman's style, but he did this before while he was on other missions and with other Shinobi his age in Kumogakure.
His thoughts were interrupted by the soft voice of someone he always wants to see anytime he can. Michiko, the Raikage, the most beautiful woman of the village. As she questioned Kinto and he answered, Raitora looked towards her and smiled a little, "Well, you know my unusual method of determining another man or woman's ideal combat style. I let them take a few shots at me. I can take the hits and judged their physical capabilities at the same time. Take Kinto here for example, he's pretty quick, but he also packs a wallop. Therefore the sword that is best for him is one that is both weighty enough for heavy hits, yet is easily able to be swung. Give him a Katana or similarly sized blade and he'll do just fine."
Now if he had more power, but less speed, Raitora would of suggested a hefty blade, like a broadsword. If he was faster, but not strong, Raitora would of given him a rapier like weapon. Raitora may prefer his fists, but he knows his way around swords. Not as well as Michiko, but he is knowledgeable about them. She'll always kick his a** if they ever had to use Katanas though.
The young Genin, Julien, quietly made his way into the Training Grounds, trying not to draw the attention of the Kage, Jounin, or the fellow Genin that seemed to be patiently at work with some form of task. It wouldn't matter much to Julien, as the only reason that he was there was to find a spot to calm himself and meditate, so he would be in a state of mind to focus his chakra. His swords, one from his mother, the other from his father, were both attached at his side, both sheathed away carefully, as to not damage the blades. He carried these two swords with him wherever he went, them being the only things that he had been left from his parents.
Eventually, the young boy found a spot where he could sit down and have a moment to himself, not too far from the other three that were there. He payed them no mind, just as when he first entered, and proceeded to sit and cross his legs, adjusting the two swords that he held so dear to himself. Slowly unsheathing one of them, immediately knowing that it was his fathers, Julien looked down to it as he placed it onto his lap. A small smile formed across the boy's lips, as he looked down at the blade of his father's, knowing that the man would likely be proud of his successes so far with training, and everything he had done in order to achieve his goals. He slowly moved a hand onto the side of the blade that rested on his lap, closing his eyes, as he felt the flow of chakra slowly begin to form from his hand onto the blade. He let his chakra form itself around the blade, almost as if it was a protective casing, but Julien knew it would soon be far more than that. Slowly opening his eyes, he looked down at the blade, now knowing his own chakra coated it, Julien smiled once more, as he took the grip of the sword in his hand and moved off of the ground, looking for something to slash his blade at, to confirm that it could not cut through anything with his chakra now on it.

Namine carefully made her way to the training ground. Kunko, her stuffed rabbit, was stuck to her side. The small stuffed animal was actually a pretty proficient weapon's carrier. She stopped at the edge of the training ground, seeing the overpopulated mass of boys in the area.. minus the raikage and... Julien was here!! What was the luck! She smiled and jogged over to her friend.
"Julien! Hey!" She stopped in front of him, hugging herself. She had a slight smile on her face, she didn't smile much, but she when she did it was usually for Julien. "Nice to finally see you up, sleepy."
The familiar voice of a young girl caught his attention, as he turned to see the smiling Namine Hyuuga run towards him, stopping herself just a few feet away from him. Julien put on a small smile as he nodded his head to address her greeting him. "Good to see you as well, Namine. Yes, I overslept, which I'm not too pleased about, I planned on getting more training in, but now it's unlikely." Julien paused, as he turned his attention from the young girl to the other three, then back to Namine. "What brings you here, Namine?" Julien asked softly, his eyes scanning her up and down, noting that she still had her stuffed animal, even outside of their home. It was somewhat childish, but Julien didn't mind it too much overall.

Michiko rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at Raitora’s response, remembering how he’d gone through with a similar maneuver when they were still young. Both she and her brother had come to training one day and claimed they were going to be sword users, and as if to question it Raitora challenged them to showcase their skill. Hajime had stepped back with a smirk and a soft “lady’s first” before she stepped up to the plate. Two strikes, that’s all it took, and with her friend standing there with his arms open to take the hit there was nothing stopping the crystal shard in her hand from piercing skin. He spent nearly a week in the hospital because of her back then. Despite the pain he was probably in at the tie, all she could respond with was laughter as the memory resurfaced. She raised a hand to her lips quickly and muffled her giggles, patting Raitora on the back gently as she backed away from him.
Once she’d managed to put a few steps between them she burst out in a fit of laughter, wrapping an arm around her stomach almost as if she were in pain. Her hair fell in front of her eyes as she leaned over, a mixture of chortles, chuckles, and giggles making its way out of her mouth. Eventually she was able to stop enough to refill her lungs with air, but it was still interrupted by the occasional snicker as she turned her attention back to Raitora and his student. ”Rai-kun… hehe… I would have thought you’d learned your lesson. If I remember, last time you said those words you were laying in a hospital bed within minutes.” she remarked, raising her right hand to the corner of her eye to wipe away a small tear brought on by her laughter. With that same hand she straightened her hair out, flattening down the long bangs in front of her left eye and tucking the rest behind her ears. She had her moment of fun, now she needed to look a bit more like a Kage, they weren’t alone out here.
Speaking of which, the Raikage spun on her heels for a headcount of the training grounds. Raitora, Kinto, and two more Genin she vaguely recognized. They were too far away for her to get a good look at their faces, which certainly wasn’t made easier by the lack of depth perception she still suffered from the loss of her eye. It didn’t affect her often, she normally didn’t even notice, but trying to recognize people from afar was one of the few instances that it tended to be a problem. Not that it was a big deal, the other two could join them as soon as they were ready, and they probably had other things to worry about at that moment anyways. The only reason she cared to have the genin’s attention was to entice them into a mission she had brewing in the back of her head, but it could wait a bit if whatever they were doing was important enough. For the time being she couldn’t risk sending them out of the village so she was trying to come up with things that wouldn’t require leaving, after all she needed the biggest group she could pull together in time for this ball she’d received word of that morning.
”Oh wait… that reminds me. The ball is a lot closer than I’d originally hoped. We don’t have a lot of time to make these scrappy little genin look presentable.” she stated, and as if to add insult to injury stuck her tongue out at Kinto for good measure. Truthfully, most of the village was a little more rough and tumble and a little less on the civilized side, herself included, but it wouldn’t hurt them all to learn some manners before showing their faces in front of other villages and looking like a bunch of ridiculous, cloud-breathing fools. It wasn’t much of a problem for Michiko, she could lock lips with a man, toss back a drink with him, and all would be well, but the same could not be said of the others. Best not to tell that plan to Raitora though, he’d never approve of her getting drunk during an international relations event. He didn’t have to know though, the only concern that needed to be shared with him was making sure everyone worked to get their ticket. Her personal plans she could keep to herself in the meantime.

Namine sat down in front of Julien, placing her hands lightly in her lap and trying not to pay attention to the much better looking, and mostly male, shinobi not too far away. She looked down, playing with her thumbs. "Well.. I was hoping to train.. but I don't think that's really an option now.. " She quickly looked up at the beautiful kage, then quickly back down to the ground below her. She knew her shyness and insecurity was stupid.. but.. she didn't really know. She felt ugly and stupid and weak and.. nothing.

Oh he remembered the last time that happened, when he asked someone to hit him. He was testing to see how well his strength training was going. He was meaning for Hajime or Michiko to hit him with their fists, but he didn't quite communicate that point to them. Which made him end up with a wound at his stomach and a trip to the hospital. In hindsight, that was not the best idea, like growing his hair long like some of the kids he sees in the village. He was never good at taking care of his hair anyway.
"Well in my defense, I wasn't too clear on what I meant when I said 'Hit me', I meant with your fists. You used Michi no Hansen on me. No fair," he answered, returning the gesture of sticking his tongue out before he looked over to the two genin that were a bit aways from Michiko, him and Kinto. His friendliness didn't want them to be standing away from them when there was so much he can learn from them. Besides from the looks of things, both of them looked like they can do some Taijutsu, and it was obvious both were swordsman or aspired to be.
"Hey, you two over there! Yeah, I mean you two! Come on over here for a bit, you guys look a little lonely," Raitora said with a smile. He didn't have an idea about the young girls secluded nature or what lurked inside her, and the boy looked like he could be a fun one to teach. To emphasize that he wanted them to come over, Raitora motioned with one of his strong arms towards them, "Come on, don't be shy, we're nice people, you'll see!!!"
He then hopefully sealed the deal by giving them the nice guy pose, a thumbs up followed by a smile, with proverbial "ping" from his teeth.
Julien nodded his head slightly, looking at the girl in front of him. "We can train, if you would like, Namine..." Julien suggested, as a new voice called out to the two. His eyes looked from her to the man, whom was now posing at them. Blinking, somewhat weirded out by the strange figure, Julien offered his hand to Namine to help her off of the ground. "I believe the Jounin is calling us over, perhaps we can train with him? Julien suggested, hoping Namine would come along with him. Julien really wasn't the kind of person whom enjoyed being around others, so having Namine with him would at least make him feel more comfortable around the two, and the Raikage.

Namine jumped a bit at the Jounin calling for them to come over. Her eyes got wide and she snapped her head up, clenching at her stomach lightly as it seemed to twist up. She looked quickly back down, avoiding contact. "I-I guess.. It would be rude to ignore them... " She bit her lip hard, hiding behind her spiked bangs. Her red eyes peaked from behind them, they had that same featureless look as all other hyuuga, but they were vibrant in color, instead of a pale white. It was a ghastly look. She felt the twisting in her stomach again and looked quickly back down before standing up and pulling Kunko off her sides to squeeze the thing in her arms. It gave her a sense of calm, not only was it her childhood toy, but it also had weapons inside it that she'd need in case she needed to protect herself.
She knew in her mind that she'd rather not go over to the group of boys with the beautiful kage, but she didn't want to cause disrespect or anger either. She fiddled with her hands again, that twisting in her stomach wouldn't stop, and she was partly worried because that's where the seal to the Kyuubi was. She had yet to so much as hear the beast's voice, and she'd like to keep it that way. The thought of him inside her was enough to scare her straight. She looked at Julien, the nervousness clear in her eyes, then held out her hand for the boy to take so he could pull himself to his feet as well. Her hand was shaking slightly, her body was always in a state of slight, constant, trembling, as if she was scared of everyone and everything. She practically was, she wasn't sure what could one day throw her in to something she knew was inevitable, but never wanted to happen.
Meeting the Kyuubi. She'd rather never see the face of the beast she had heard so much about. She offered her best friend a nervous smile. "Well shall we...?"
The boy nodded as he helped her off of the ground, taking her hand and lifting her up. She was fairly light, so it wasn't hard for him overall. The moment that she was standing up, Julien let her hand go as he began to walk over to the Jounin to find out what was it that he wanted exactly. As he made his way over to the group, he made sure to hold his sword loosely, not too worried about anything bad happening, especially with the Raikage in range. "Greetings, Raikage." Julien addressed the woman first, as he bowed his head towards her. Julien hardly knew much about the woman, but it wasn't like he didn't hear of her antics. Still, formality was something that Julien would always do, no matter what. "How may I help you both?" The boy asked, moreso directed to the Jounin. The boy didn't know many people within the village, even though he grew up there. He would always train alone, and try to avoid socialization for the most part, but it seemed today would be a day where he would be interacting with others. Joy.

Jounin Kumogakure's Mountain Gale Health: Awesome!!!! Mood: Jubilant!!!! Thoughts: Hello Genin, I wonder what you guys are like? Chakra: Full tanks Baby!!!
Raitora was proud that his attempt to garner the two Genin's attention worked out quite nicely as both of them decided to put aside whatever fears or doubts they had and headed over to them. Raitora guessed that both of them were pretty shy, especially the girl, who was clutching onto a stuffed animal like it was an anchor to keep her safe. Even so, his eyes could tell she was visibly shaken. Something must be traumatizing her, perhaps it was the fact she was coming to three strange people she has never met in her life. Regardless, Raitora felt it was his job to attempt to ease her fears a little.
When the boy greeted them, Raitora stood there with a smile on his face as he said to the two, "Hello there Genin, I am Kumogakure's Mountain Gale, Raitora Koshi! Very nice to meet the both of you, can you both tell us your names?," Raitora looked to the boy, then the girl, who was still visibly shaken, "Is something wrong Miss? You nervous? Hmmm, guess I should tone down a bit on my youthful exuberance then," said the Jounin, scratching the back of his head as if he was a little embarrassed, "Well, I figured by the way you easily handled your swords that you wouldn't mind demonstrating to me and the Raikage a little bit of your skill? That's why I asked you to come over and introduce yourselves. It's best that we know every young person in Kumogakure as you are the next generation to carry on the village's legacy."
With a smile, he awaited their response, eyeing Michiko on occasion. It was kind of sweet, the most social, yet most eccentric Jounin was trying to get two shy Genin to open up and be a bit social.
Namine was hiding partially behind Julien. When the Jounin locked on her and started asking her questions, she squeezed her stuffed animal and looked down. "M-My name is Namine Hyuuga.. Sir.. The Snow White Flash.. " She gripped her stomach lightly again, still looking down. She wasn't sure how many people knew she had the kyuubi, but she was expecting the Jounin to back away and leave her, as most people did.
