Apparently melee was next on the agenda as 'Sassin hit the floor, landing on both shoes and breaking into a run for Darius, whipping her right hand across to flick the slack of chain towards his face, then jerking her hand back and throwing her momentum forward in a strike with the punch dagger for his right shoulder, trying to catch him off guard before he could withdraw the spear, and thus avoid a range advantage he would have in a melee duel.

Being pressed for time made reaching for his retractable spear an ill advised idea for the moment, watching his feline opponent following up immediately with another attack. Despite the anger slowly overwhelming his thought processes based on frustration, Darius had to admire the aggression and initiative of this peculiar creature. Nipping that moment of understanding straight into the shitter, the ex-priest resisted with his own might to hinder Sassin plan to smack the chain into his face. Unfortunately, he was still held in place mostly or at the very least could not get enough time to charge right at the fur ball.

Fascinated with the image of maiming this foe and advancing just to get his hands on that damn psion, all of that simply needed to become fuel to motivate him to push right back into the offensive, kicking a** and taking names. Responsible to recover from her onslaught, Darius thought on the fly as he propelled his body upwards while firmly grasping onto the end of his spear. The plan was to maintain balance as he sprung up, rising his leg in an upward arc motion while temporarily elevated in this position with a little leverage on his side. Gravity forced the leg to descend, attempting to crash in the form of a left axe kick to the cranium of Sassin who was focused on his shoulder.

Instead she would at this instant thanks to his shift in elevation likely miss her mark, but just barely as he intended to use his surroundings and current predicament to land some counter on this cat. Had the relentless brawler not turn his spear into a makeshift brake to decelerate from her previous technique, the spear would have been an obvious choice. Undoubtedly the locals were having a great time, immersed in the battle between them

When the leg lifted a mixture of instinct and practice kicked in, feet at once stopping on the spot and upper body rocking back. And in truth this was the core of the cat. The muscles and stamina she sported despite maintaining a lithe frame. The jumping and theatrics. She was a gymnast. The combined flexibility of her sport and from being, well, a cat, allowed her back to arch right over as she dropped to her knees into what could only be described as a power slide, drifting right underneath his kick and right, well, for his legs.

On realizing where she was heading face first towards, she threw her arms up in front of her face, punch dagger aimed into the air. If Darius kick still came down it would likely skewer itself on her punch-dagger. And if he didn't there was a small chance he would get, well, groin-stabbed.

Best case scenario in the current perspective she would just slide right under his axe kick to the opposite side.

Committing himself to a gambit of this caliber probably was not necessary and with the repercussions, descending straight into treacherous grounds with his acrobatic kick. Physics and the drop of momentum would mostly dictate it impossible to evade the punch dagger itself, irritation enveloping Darius the further he had to deal with things like this enchanted chain and his opponent as well. Flooded with a multitude of negative thoughts embedded through his conscious, pain emitted as the punch dagger dig into his leg.

Relinquishing the spear from his grip the weapon started to morph back into a baton, arching his arm slightly back with a thrusting punch that plunged to where Sassin would possibly be. Spewing from his fist was that baleful Morsatra energy, hardening that noxious power to launch off another Makai bullet which affording to the close proximity would have him affected to some extent too. Having a monumental speedball of a energy projectile slamming at you with tremendous speed and impact would hopefully produce some results, packing quite the force behind it to damage the feline and launch him up in the air ten feet with the chain, all thanks to the potent blast which was his infamous ranged attack.

Dagger digging into leg, 'Sassin came to a surprising halt and was faced with something ugly. An incoming attack aimed straight down for her. She threw herself sideways the best she could, but it was too late and too close to avoid the force, thrown by the ensuing explosion across the floor and only avoiding nasty grazing over her arms and legs by being furred and wearing her ninja garbs over most of her body.

The shock of the force didn't help either, rattling her head and throwing off any semblance of recovery, but the chain tying the two of them together would mean she couldn't get far. No more than ten feet tops.

A normal combatant would have been debilitated or severely weakened in performance, Darius fortunately possessed the type of physical fortitude to resist through the blood leaking from the leg and the one on his arm produced by the wind attack from earlier. Disoriented slightly from the tremendous power packed behind his Makai Bullet from such a close distance, linked to that damn chain as he continued to levitate in the air while pain reminded him of the wound inflicted onto his precious leg. Comprehension of his surroundings barely registered to the madman with a lethal haircut, planting his right hand to the chain that imprisoned half of his attack arsenal.

Removing this sturdy chain was out of the question, opting to punish his adversary for binding them together. Simply ensnared with just a chain felt too much like solitary confinement, triggering desperation as lurid memories began to affect his psyche in the middle of the battle. Very adamant towards achieving freedom from this dreaded chain, the bruiser slowly falling grappled onto the chain with his right hand, bleeding from the palms as he tightly wrapped his hand around it. Using both hands Darius would attempt to whip his oppressor into the wall like a cat flail, placing all his weight behind it to spin his body to add momutum to the vicious swing reminiscent of some Italian plumber . It was time for payback, assuming his strength and stature would be prevalent against his petite foe. He wanted some kitty pancake attached to a chain, freedom, or a good luck charm with a dead cat; whichever would be granted to the depraved b*****d.

Finding herself suddenly picked up and flung by the chain was, well, not too big a deal for 'Sassin. Gymnastic training meant she could usually keep a pretty good sense of where she stood at any one time. But at the same time being swung at the end of a ten foot length, especially when there was a lot of weight on your feet, meant the laws of physics were not doing her any favours.

As she swung around her body curled, feet pointed for the wall to absorb the brunt force of the impact with bending her knees. Not her finest landing, but gymnastics were a lot harder side-on. But with the momentum entirely stopped with her feet (and knees groaning in pain) she now straightened, boots giving a boost to launch her straight back for Darius. As she drew closer to the man she metalmorphed the chain back into the size of her right glove, making it shaped like a cats paw, claws extended. This would tie the two of them closer.

At the same time she swung her punch dagger forward, superman style, aiming for his right shoulder.

Although the attack did not exactly go as planned, still bound to this shinobi as the distance began to close. Figures that he was paired with someone graceful with skill in acrobatics, gymnastics, or whatever the furry ninja employed to reduce his last minute offense. Neglecting the fact the maneuver damaged her a little, Darius was currently engrossed with the fantasy of maiming this whimsical feline. Remnants of the club music radiating from the nightclub started a tempo, bolstering his attitude positively to some degree in the middle of the battle. Ecstatic realizing the gap between them was closing thanks to the length of the chain shortening in reach, he would be granted an opportunity to bring the pain or at least he hoped.

Spinning would leave most individuals a little confused, acknowledging his inability to dodge and instead risk it on a reckless counter he had devised within only a few seconds. Luckily Sassin kept herself fixated on his shoulder, making it easier to telegraph but only by a fraction in his condition midair. Given a moment to breath after his boisterous swing, he lunged his right arm forward, allowing the dagger to penetrate through his hand that saw itself used as a fleshy shield. With them arm and arm his body surged full of that noxious energy, shrouded in a crimson aura as he kept hold to the weapon and hand associated with it. The angling made this difficult, planting both feet around the chest region as they descended, preparing for the additional damage from falling. Pushing up with his legs while falling backwards, he intended to perform an aerial monkey flip to slam his foe onto the solid ground and if things were timed right with the chain attached roll him into a mounted position onto Sassin. He took account of his arms both holding onto a part wrestling with the cat, showing his perseverance despite things not looking great for him. Life was hell and nothing would stop him from getting to Damon, no one as long as he breathed.

'Sassin was certainly not strong enough to stop Darius monkey flip. In fact it was a little surprising. Dumped unceremoniously on her back with a large degree of pain accompanied she let out an involuntary hiss, now metal morphing the chain longer as she swiped from right to left, gauntlet now clawed like her own paws to slash across his chest.

At the same time she violently angled her downwards, looking to quite literally use the blade to tear his hand in two, or at least open. Muscles, tendons and flesh would not be spared in the vicious wrenching.

But not being a fool she also placed her feet squarely on the ground, knees up behind Darius.

[ CANNONBALL SPECIAL >< ]

Presumably, Darius anticipated problems in executing that little maneuver he saw his ex-teammate Tres perform in one of his rousing brawls which admittedly humored the savage enough to shadow a few techniques. The basis of his fighting style borrowed elements from different disciplines and some fighters he knew to an extent, displaying this as he gain the upper hand for a few seconds. Sassin was a wily opponent, sagacious enough to realize that any shift in combat would probably result in dealing with some metal morphing.

Studious and in a better position, Darius could capitalize as the chain began to extend. He opted for keeping themselves clinch mostly, utilizing what manipulation he could with his automail arm to parry the gauntlet, feeling the claw slowly scrape onto his rough flesh to slow the sharpness of the attack. He dealt with enough bloody wounds from this b***h, absorbed at the thought of bringing the pain. Refusing to let up for even a moment, he sacrificed his hand to grip harder onto the punch dagger. Gritting his teeth as his hand slowly was teared and mangled, he moved his arm slightly back in a pose that only seem too familiar by how many times he unleashed it thus far in this match alone.

Shooting out a third devastating Makai bullet within point blank, the audience from the first round recalled the calamity that was unleashed this ended with a surprising fatality, still not regretting how that turned out for the b*****d deserved his fate. Known as a double edged sword within this suicidal range, both would likely be tossed aside like rag dolls a few feet. It’s worse offender would be Sassin hand attached to the punch dagger, streaming at over hundred miles per hour with enough force to make some fly, meaning there was a decent possibility of it equaling the playing ground by obliterating or crushing the weapon and perhaps all the bones in her hand. It wasn't a true fight without both sides reeling in pain, bleeding, and longing to destroy each other.

Unfortunately for Darius, being at such close range meant he could do naught but bare the full brunt of 'Sassin's own attacks. Still holding tightly on the dagger she suddenly shoved towards him with her left side, clinging to his automated arm with her right for a push-pull effect.

Unleashed from her punch dagger once more was another wind pulse, the same familiar technique used to quite violently shove Darius away before hand. Except she wasn't aiming for his greater bulk. She was aiming solely for his right side. The powerful pushing force, known for hurling people up to ten feet, hurled entirely for his right arm, side and shoulder.

Additionally she gave a powerful kick of her feet, boost and all, to try and buck Darius off of her, though the boost was far from enough to throw him away.

With the violent jerk she was hoping to off set his aim and send the bullet screaming sideways instead of directly down. But failure to do so would lead to, well...
Death.
