Also, sex offenders' info should be posted on the web for all to be aware of Go Canada! Just to make sure, what does one need to do to get the death penalty for a sexual offense in Canada? for canada, that is their own perogative... however, as an american, we can not support the immediate grouping of any individuals if said grouping were in violation of our constitution... It is, as pointed out above

Most sex offenders dont mean to, they can not help it.. it is a mental illness, and if treated, curable Oh my, I feel so sorry to hear that about these poor disturbed people can control they're sex urges. *cries a river of tears* And we should put some perverts mental illness over the safety of millions of women. Okay, clarification time, kids: Very rarely does a law distinguish between truly heinous people, some with mental diseases: the serial rapist and murderer, the serial child rapist, the child pornographer, and "other" sex offenders: As Drewser pointed out, the 18 year-old who has sex with his 15 year-old girlfriend, the frat boy who gets too drunk and makes a one-time mistake of drunk date-rape, and those who were wrongly charged of sexual assault after what they were encouraged to believe was a consensual affair. All of these people are listed as sex offenders, all have to register, all have to have their information on the WWW for everyone and their mother to see. It's not right, and it's not fair. I have a friend in high school who was on a listserve on which someone thought it would be hilarious to send all of its members child porn. Unfortunately, his computer was searched soon thereafter by the authorities for other reasons *ahem*, and he was arrested for possession of kiddie porn. 17 years-old, and his information and location will be on the internet for the rest of his life for a bullshit charge. There really needs to be a distinction made between true criminals and those who are either put-upon, or those who make one-time mistakes and have served their jail time. I honestly believe that such a breach of privacy after serving their court-appointed jail time and/or therapy constitutes cruel and unusual punishment, as well as the violation of the right to privacy.

Finally, now may we move back to the matter at hand?
Is a man who killed somebody more deserving than a man who raped someone? Innocence lost over life lost. Let's weigh them out.
If you're going to kill rapists, at LEAST kill the Death Row inmates who have killed people, first. I could use a good state-sanctionned murder. It's been awhile.
