"i'm making it dad. don't worry so much about it. . ." he said quietly as he turned and began serve the plates as quick as he could, not looking at the drunken man "please just. . .try and keep from drinking until i go to bed?"

"Shut up you little runt!" He yelled digging into his food. Writh looked up hearing the father yelling.

"I'll take that as a no then" he sighed and set up two plates before heading upstairs with a tray "I'll be eating in my room tonight. so dont worry about me being 'in your way'" he called hoping the man would let it go and just go out this time. He was more concerned about writh's saftey than his own at the moment

The man looked at him confused but kept eating. Writh looked up when the door opened. She smiled, "Your back."

He felt a sense of relief seeing writh there and smiling. he smiled a bit as he closed the door and sat down beside her "are you hungry? I made some extra food for you" he handed her a plate and a tray to eat on, though he felt so nervous now that he had a new friend he wanted to try and make happy "it's steak pieces, corn and some mashed potatoes."

Writh smiled, "My frist meal." She said softly and ate a bite. "This is so good." She said smiling, "You cook very well."

he blushed shyly but he smiled and bowed his head "thank you. . .My mom had taught me how to cook before she passed away. . .and cooking for that slob downstairs gives me alot of practice" he smiled more at her before looking down to eat, his jacket shifting to show the bandages still wrapped around his arms

Writh looked at his arm, "Are you hurt?" She asked getting up to look him over.

He looked down sadly and gripped onto his arm lightly as he sighed "I'm alright. I hardly feel any pain now so they should be healed up by the end of this week. please dont worry yourself" he nodded and held her hand to set her down

Writh nodded a bit and kept eating. When she was done she started to say something when she heard his father yelling, "Boy get your a** down here!" He yelled obviously drunk already.

He flinched and bit his lip but gripped her hands tightly "stay here" he whispered and walked, shutting his door as he headed downstairs and glared at the drunken man "what is it this time? you have your beer and food already"

The man slapped him, "Don't play dumb with me! I heard you talkin to someone!" He screamed going towards his room. "Who the hell is in here with you?" He opened the door and blinked seeing a small tree in a pot, "You talkin to a fricking plant boy?"

Garett cringed and staggered but he hurried upstairs ready to hide Writh. When he saw the small tree, he sighed in relief but glared at the man "so what? you dont let me have any other friends, so I have my plants. . .now get out of my room"

His father growled before kicking the pot over. He then stormed out of the room to get more beer. When he left the fallen tree turned back into Writh holding her head blinking a bit.

his heart had almost skipped a beat seeing him kick the pot over. he thought he had hurt writh and was about to yell at him until he saw the girl revert back. he smiled and rushed to her side to help her up "are you alright?"
