I only have one theory & it's pretty lame but funny: that Amon is descended from the cabbage man. It makes sense that he hates benders from all the suffering that the cabbage man had to endure! Makes sense ehehe wink

Visenkha I'm not entirely convinced that Mako and Bolin are really brothers. As in like it's possible they had the same mother but different fathers or vice-versa. I've just been kinda mulling it over, especially since they can both bend different elements, but that's not a good enough reason to suggest that they aren't really related. xp It's perfectly possible one of their parents was a fire bender and the other an earth bender. But physically, they don't resemble each other at all in my opinion.

Yeah. I mean if they really are then I have no problems with it. But you're right, they don't really look very much a like, which only makes more skeptical.

My prediction, or hope, would be more accurate, is that Combustion Man comes back somehow and tries to kill Korra, or at the very least, Katara. I mean, The guy was like the friggin' Terminator, backing Aang, the others, and Zuko into a corner, but then Sokka hits him in the head with a lucky shot from his boomerang, then CM accidentally blows up, for some reason. All that power stopped by a water tribe goof, he should at least try to get revenge on his family somehow. Of course, Korra would save the day, but CM would give her one hell of a fight!

The new episode was amazing! This is just my opinion, but I think Amon is Bumi (Aangs 1st son) Aang was the only one to prevent someone from bending, and he most likely taught his children. Plus Bumi was his only child that couldn't bend. But the story about his parents and his face could be true... but oh well! This is just a prediction!

According to this... he is the child of farmers abused by Fire Benders... so he is NOT from the Fire Nation, but from one of the other 3 countries... most likely Earth, due to "farm". I believe he is just some nutjob that did some research on how Avatar Aang defeated Ozai,learned of Energy Bending was the "First kind of bending" and decided to see if he could do it through hardcore meditation by opening his Chakra gates... which is also how Aang goes into a full powered Avatar state. So... I believe he is just another victim of the Fire Nation's campaign, that decides to do something about his suffering. So my prediction... he takes bending away from people... but notably... never kills anyone.

One looks like the mother, and one looks like the father. It's common.

Even though they say Jet died and all. (In Avatar: The Last Airbender.) The speech Amon gave in the newest episode, "The Revelation" reminded me a lot of what happened to Jet. He lost his parents to the Fire Nation and is enraged at Firebenders/the Fire Nation for doing so. It's possible that he somehow survived and is now angry at all benders. (It doesn't really explain how he can take away people's bending though.)
It's not really the best theory for Amon I've heard, but it's just something else I came up with.

At first I was watching the new episode with my friends right and I we saw Amon take away the guys bending and I thought his name kind of reminded me of Aang and his ability to take away bending so we're like OH NO IT'S AANG RETURNING FROM THE GRAVE but uh yeah obviously not. Also his backstory sounded like s**t but it kind of reminded me of Zuko or something.. But can't be him either Zuko da good guy and probably dead now. So I want to know who the ******** it is and I bet his face is beautiful. emotion_kirakira

As for his lineage, I'm standing by the theory that he's the cabbage man's great-grandson.

I think Amon is actually a bender, but isn't telling anyone. He could be a bender who isn't happy with how non-benders are treated.
