I'm bored and you're there, bro. yum_puddi

"Watch out next time, will you? Promise me."

Monte handed the purple colored frisbee towards the little hedgehogs playing in the park while trying to comfort their unsuspecting victim. They made their very unconvincing apologies and promises before running off and tossing it to one another again.

"You're going to be okay. Just sit down with your mother for a spell." The child quickly sped towards her parent and Monte sighed irritably. Why couldn't kids be a tad more considerate? She arose from her squatting position. Ouch, it was a shame the girl wasn't taller.

Peering out of the corner of her eye, Monte spotted the frisbee heading somewhere off course and ran for it. It was spiraling for some guy taking a nap on a bench and would, no doubt, hit him in the head. "Hey!" she yelled and snatched it out of the air. Ooh, they were all going to get it. Monte landed behind the guy and they were grateful it didn't hurt him.

Heh heh, that doesn't bother me. XP Needed a push, anyway.

As he rested there peacefully, unaware of the events taking place around him, he dreamed of various things... events important to his life. It was difficult for him to express what they were to others, but it wasn't as if they were so important that the world would end if he didn't. Still, it was nice to be able to remember such moments...

"Hey!"

And with that yell, his slumber was ended, his eyes clenched for a moment since he had been awakened from one of his more precious memories. As he lazily opened his eyes... they suddenly went wide as he noticed a young female practically flying over him and the bench, a frisbee in her hands. Blinking at the sudden, he snapped his gaze in the direction of her as his body shifted up a bit. What... the heck was that all about?

Glad to help :3

"This is what happens when you-"

She froze and leered at the boys until they got smart enough to play without their precious frisbee. Monte cringed internally as she knew it was her fault that he had woken. Hey? Really?

"My apologies mister." Monte admitted through gritted, fanged teeth. She was embarrassed and her humility turned into anger. The plastic frisbee in her hands broken into two pieces and she rubbed the back of her neck nervously. Looking at him, she felt a pang of guilt since he appeared tired.

Blinking at her unfinished statement, the hedgehog shifted his gaze from her to the children off in the distance, seeing them running off. Hearing her apology, his attention returned to her in time to see her hands snap the frisbee in half. It was clear to him then that she wasn't one that you would want to intentionally anger, or else her rage might be fatal to your health...

With a yawn and a stretch, then, the male took waved it off as he stated, "It's alright, miss. I probably needed to get up, anyway." Shifting himself against the bench in a more proper sitting style, he kept his gaze on her as he then said, "Got to admit, though... Seeing someone flying overhead does make for an interesting wake-up call."

She let out a light chuckle at his comment and tilted her head to the side in a curious manner. "Firstly, you sound like it happens often. Secondly," she walked around the bench but not exactly sitting near him,"..who are you?" The question might have been forward, but she wasn't going to simply strike conversation with a complete stranger. If he revealed to be harmful he would end up like the poor frisbee.. severed.

The male listened to her response, unable to hold back a soft chuckle to her first statement. Truely, it was a rare occurrence, though it usually involved something more dangerous and deadly than a wandering frisbee. Following her movements as she walked around the bench, keeping her distance from him, he felt this to be an appropriate action. After all, how would she know if he was a friendly or foe just from the few moments of talking? It was then that he heard her actual question... Looking down for a moment, a ping of sadness hinted in his eyes before shaking it off.

Looking back to her with a gentle grin, he soon stated, "Wave Balker, miss. Just your... typical nobody in a giant city such as this. What about you? Who are you?"

Did he avert his eyes for a moment? Good, those orbs could betray you as easily as confessing from the mouth. When he introduced himself, she found it easier to not be tense. Oh, looked like it was her turn. "The name's Monte Lawrence so you can stop calling me miss. I'm just a runaway with no place to be."

"There, now we know each other," she told him while taking the vancant side of the bench. Her muscles ached from walking around all day and pushing herself to go further. Not smart on her behalf. Monte crossed her legs and placed the toy's pieces in her lap. "Were you traveling? I know this park is inviting, but c'mon.. to sleep?"

Listening to her response, he blinked at the particular statement 'runaway'. A runaway? Who was she running from, and why? Those predominant questions lingered in his mind for a moment before he tossed them aside, seeing them as an interference to her privacy. However, her statement 'no place to me' compared the two of them easily. In truth, neither did he...

Taking in her words as she sat down on the vacant side of the bench, his body remaining in place so as not to disturb her. It then came around to the question of why he was sleeping in the park, one that wasn't easy to answer.

"Well, that's because... I don't live here in this city, and I also don't have any money to afford a hotel," he admitted, his hand lifting up to lightly scratch at the end of his nose.

"Oh, well that explains why I haven't seen you around before." Pushing down the urge to ask why he was in her city and without efficient funds, she decided not to ask questions this round. Her privacy was important to her and she'd respect that in others too. She'd be a hypocrite if she didn't.

"Most newcomers stay at Alice's Inn anyway. It's haunted but I think people get a kick out of that for whatever reason unknown to me." She wouldn't even consider that place when she came to the city. Park benches were more appealing and she obtained her own place. Maybe he could- Even her thoughts were becoming cut off by other thoughts. Who does that?

"You're telling me," Monte muttered to herself and remembered where she'd been "living" the entire time until a week ago. Abandoned warehouse offices weren't as scary as others think. It was free and that was all that mattered.

Listening to her reply to him, Wave soon took note of her comment involving this place... 'Alice's Inn'. Apparently it was haunted or something? An interesting concept, to say the least, but it didn't change the fact that he had no money to spend on a room there. Still, if he ever did come across some cash, he might as well take a gander there.

Blinking as he heard her muttering, he glanced at her for a moment before facing forward, assuming that she had just said something accidentally. "I suppose I'll have to give that place a look over, then," he stated as he leaned forward, glancing back at her. Deciding to change the subject for the time being, he pointed a finger toward the snapped frisbee and asked, "So... What's the story about that and the children? I'm guessing I slept through that dilemma."

He was actually thinking of going there? Was he stupid or just plain desperate? No, that was his choice and she wouldn't talk him out of it. As he pointed out the toy, she tried to release her pent up anger in the form of a sigh. Nope, still there.

"Well, those kids have been targeting civilians all day. Couples having picnics, smaller children on the swings," she glanced over at him with a smirk,"..and sleeping beauties." No doubt that their parents would give her drama for putting an end to it, but she couldn't give two shakes of a rat's as-

"They just moved here and think they own everything. Someone has to set them straight, if not their own." It was the Lawrence way of life, or one of them. Look after everyone even if the pups are not your own. In this case they were hedgehogs and not wolves, but kids were still kids.

Hearing Monte explain the situation after her forced sigh, Wave could see that these children were apparently troublemakers. Her added comment on sleeping beauties, based on how she smirked at him, caused him to look on to the side for a moment, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. Once the rest of the explanation was given, he nodded softly, seeing how and why she was involved in all of that. It was her way of looking out for others, regardless if they were the problem causers or the victims.

"That's a pretty solid lifestyle, Monte," he said softly to her before slowly taking a stand. "I can't necessarily say that I truly have one like that, though. I just... enjoy wandering about, no real restrictions thrown upon me." Glancing down at her for a moment, he chuckled softly again as he dusted off his legs, soon adding, "Well... I've probably stayed here long enough. Take you for the time, Monte... Perhaps we might each other again."

With that, he began walking off in the direction of the city, his hand raised in a waving motion back to her.

Toji Okami walked in, whistling. The young wolf cub bodygaurd/merc looked around, sighing as he patted the let pocket of his coat. Yeesh, not much money left from the last job. He'd have to find a new cleint, before that ran out.Seeing a wolf woman standing there, he grinned, walking up to her."Hey, ma'am, any idea who needs a bodyguard? I'm willing to live with reasonable wages."his tail waved slightly."WHAT THE YOUNG RUNT MEANS, MADAME, IS THAT HE IS AT THE END OF HIS ROPE." Toji growled."Shut it, Quiver, you lump of slag."

Can you guess which option I picked? I bet you can't.

"Wave?" she called out with her hand extended as a gesture to attract his attention. Wow, that's incredibly ironic. She didn't even know what she was doing, but she couldn't let him wander off even if that was what he did anyway. "Where are you even going?" It wasn't like he knew the city that well anyhow.

Monte arose from the bench and and unexpectedly, became frightened by the approach of a..cub. Of course, like embarrassment, sudden strikes of fear also transforms into anger. "Bodyguard?" Her eyes narrowed upon him and she crossed her arms over her chest. Was this a practical joke of the sorts? "Don't you need a babysitter ?" she questioned. Hold that thought.. who's Quiver?

Heh heh.

Toji Okami

Wave didn't even get ten steps away before the logic from Monte's statement hit him like a brick, stopping him in his tracks. It was true that he didn't know much about the city, and walking around such a place like this would inevitably tire and frustrate him. If it wasn't for the young cub's appearance, the silence between the two of them would have been enough to drive them both crazy.

Turning halfway to look at her, he raised a hand up to scratch at the back of his head with a embarrassed chuckle. "I... I don't honestly know," he said to her, though she may not have heard it with the cub being there. Now noticing the young one, he blinked in surprise at the sight but simply stayed where he was, trying to size up this new situation from his spot.
