Malice scrambled for the life pods, the assault ships alarms blaring steadily. As he arrived Malice checked the various comm frequencies to ensure that everyone but command crew had abandoned ship. Climbing aboard the small craft, Malice launched into the void of space, his crafts engines firing and sputtering as they fought the gravity well of Corulag. Recognizing the futility of burning out the thrusters, he angled the nose back toward the planet and let gravity take it's course. As the small escape pod started a slow revolution, Malice watched with rage as the Mandalorians returned fire, trying desperately to raise their shields to no avail. Outnumbered by the Republic forces, Malice watched with horror as the son of his old friend did the one thing he could. Turning the assault ship so that the command deck was shielded by it's bulk, he watched as the engines died, torn apart by the barrage of turbo laser fire from so many ships. Could do nothing to stop what happened next. The forward thrusters, normally used to bring the craft to a stop, fired at once, propelling the "Glory of Victory" into the closest Republic Cruiser at breakneck speed. The two heavy ships disappeared in a flash of rippling explosions, the fusion cores of both ships detonating together. Malice froze...knowing that no one had survived the death of "Glory of Victory". The anger hit him first, and Malice spent the next few seconds punching the hull, his fists denting the heavy durasteel over and over until he wore himself out. The automated impact alarms broke him from his fury then, and turning, he scrambled to the controls. Locking himself into the seat he realized he was coming in hot...very hot. Flipping the air brake release he braced as the first thumps of deceleration shook the craft to it's foundations. A second alarm blared, and Malice checked it, realizing that half of the air brakes hadn't deployed. Damn! Reaching up he pumped the manual override twice, and slammed it home. 4 more heavy thumps rang through the ship, and a second or two later he heard as well as felt the terrible wrenching of metal ripping apart. Glancing behind him out the small view port at the rear, Malice saw the problem. 2 of the 8 air brakes had torn themselves free of the craft and he was once again gathering speed. The collision warnings sounded once again with terrible finality, and Malice spun in his seat to see the trees and ground rushing to meet him. At the last moment Malice through up a force shield. The impact of the pod made it crumple, the restraints tearing, and Malice realized he was now outside the ship, hurtling through the air. Shocked, Malice tried to flip himself so that his feet were under him. The only problem? The tree that stopped him halfway, tearing through his severely weakened force shield with brutal purpose. Malice slammed into the trunk at roughly 90 mph, his armor doing it's best to compensate by expanding the gel layer beyond normal capacity. The seals ruptured, but spared him from an instant death against the unyielding wood. Even so, Malice felt something crack, a couple somethings to be precise. Coming to rest at the bottom of the massive trunk, Malice rolled away from the pain, knowing instinctively with battle honed clarity that he had broken 3 ribs. A small price to pay for his survival to be sure. Rising slowly, Malice checked the gel pressure on his armor...which was horribly low. He would need time to for repairs but he couldn't be bothered now. Malice reached for his comlink, pulling it from his belt only to find that it was cracked and sparking. Sighing, he tossed the useless piece of tech to the floor. Looking around, Malice noted his surroundings, then strode toward the shattered hull of the escape pod some 40 feet away. A cursory look told him that it was a no go, the whole forward section of the ship was crumpled. 'So much for contacting everyone or activating the rescue beacon,' he thought savagely. Scavenging what survival gear he could from the lifeless pod, Malice paused, noticing something that set him on edge. The birds should have started chirping again by now, but they were silent. In a jungle environment there was always noise. Silence meant that something bad was in the area. Malice wasn't going to wait around to find out what. Shouldering the pack of supplies, he chose what he believed to be the direction of another crash that he had seen during descent and set out, leaving the shattered lifepod, and the shadowy figures crouched in the foliage around it, behind him. Figures he had not seen, and did not feel through the force. They stalked him silently as he progressed deeper into the jungle, unaware of the threat that followed just beyond his field of vision...

(yes, sir, right away, sir O_O *salutes* ...although, my quality has been dwindling as of late ._.; guess it's not the best time to try reviving things XP )
Janlu paused for a moment, taking in their surroundings and the eerie calm that immersed the area. She decided to call out for someone, anyone, just loud enough to draw attention and see what happened, hoping something good would come of it and they might find another of their party, but preparing for anything unexpected. It was certainly worth a try, anything better than the suspicious silence, "HELLO! IS ANYONE OUT THERE?!" she called loud and clear, her words echoing through the trees. She watched for any sign of movement, felt for any sign of life...nothing. Janlu was even more worried for the others, now, unsure of how far they would have crashed. Dremora was the only other person they had heard from, but communication was cut and it was uncertain if he was well after this long. Standing in place for a moment longer, she decided to press on, slowly, quietly so as to listen for any changes in their immediate surroundings.

Marxus began to investigate the terrain. It was almost desolate status. Their indeed was vegetation but that was at a mute point. Literally no signs of life other than plants. No birds chirping, no small animals. Only plants and insects. This was bad, what was worse there appeared to be a force sensitive trying to get into his mind. It was unfamiliar to him, so he did as his training dictated. To defend. It was the only thing he could do in this scenario. It was some time before he noticed that whoever it was trying to gain entry had stopped. He laid out his survival pack and gear. Putting on his leafy man-made cloak. (Ghillie suit). His inventory was his basic assortment of first aid, his weapons and armor, and a flask of whiskey. He did not prepare for conditions such as this, and hunting seemed to be a dead-end. However as time went by he started picking up the scent of blood in the air. A flash of memories went through his mind. Of War. Of slaughter. Can't drink now, I need a safe haven.
He began moving, picking up a fallen limb from his pod's crash he began walking through what appeared to be a swamp of some kind. This showed some positives. If their was a swamp, their was livable conditions. If their was livable conditions, animals might exist elsewhere. What was not good though was that no matter how long he walked, the scent of blood never stopped. The brackish water was a disappointment. Unfortunately their was no way to tell where the stream began or ended. Marxus continually moved in one direction, in the hopes of somehow leaving the swamp. The gray clouded sky gave him no help either.
Then he started smelling smoke. Quickly looking up he saw a small trail of it in the distance. He began jogging in that direction. It was only then that he heard the unmistakeable ending part of Janlu's sentence "....OUT THERE" He started jogging towards the sound.

Naku, trapped underground in his pod had exhausted any other way to escape. He couldn't reach anyone through the force in the immediate area, nor sense anyone anymore. The one person that he did sense resisted his attempt at communication. And he could not feel the force around him anymore then the forest and the trees. No animal life in his area, which means he had mostlikely scared away the creatures. Then be heard the sounds of buckling on the hull of the pod. That could only mean that the dirt was beginning to weigh down on the pod. Naku had no choice, it might exhaust him, but he had to get out.
Naku entered a meditative form, channeling all of his connection to the force outside of him, using the force to move the pod up. The dirt at first resisted, but in time, it gave way and the pod in turn would begin to rise. as if out of a the ground, anyone near the crash would see the ground slowly shack and part ways as his escape pod rose from the ground, being settled down outside of the whole it had made. Inside of the pod was a now slightly tired Naku as he got out of his meditation and rested.

After some walking, Janlu noticed someone nearing rather rapidly, the smell of smoke drifting into the area with wisps of breeze blowing it in their direction. She paused where she was, studying this approaching figure to determine if it was someone she knew. The changellum didn't bother getting on the defensive as it was obvious by the movement that this person was not hostile, not sneaking around trying to go unnoticed. Calling out, she attempted to get more information before the figure drew too close, "Who's there?!" she shouted and waited in place for an answer.

As he grew nearer the smoky area he decided to stop on its outline. Even with his mask the smoke would still be suffocating. He began to watch the perimeter trying to sense signs of movement. It was not long before he found a figure within the site. It seemed as though she too found him when she said whos there. The voice was unmistakeably Janlu's. He said, "Regnalis."
He stayed there gauging the movements around him as well as looking at his surroundings. No animal sounds still. Which in the place of a crash-site was odd. Something here was wrong. He just did not know what it was. Looks like I won't be drinking for a while.

Dremora had been wandering for quite some time, following a smoke trail, when he finally made it through the brush. At the crash site, he say Janlu, and Marxus walked in about the same time he did. Well, it is awfully quite around here... He motioned towards the growth he just emerged from. I sense... He trailed off. What DID he sense? It was like there was something there, but not there at the same time.

Regnalis...Janlu drew nearer as she heard this, not realizing the smoke was getting thicker until she found she was holding her breath in an attempt to keep silent, listening for anything. Taking a small breath in order to speak, she ended up choking, her lungs closing momentarily as she moved out of the smoke's pathway and wheezed for fresh clean air. There were still traces of smoke that made her breathing difficult, but at least she could speak, "I trust you are well, Regnalis..." she spoke weakly, clearing her throat. Where had all the smoke come from? She began to wonder. Where there is smoke and especially so heavy as to cloud them, there must be a very close fire...and an uncontrolled one at that. As Janlu thought on this, she realized it would be wiser to head away from its origin, but she couldn't help but reason that it had resulted from a crash. With this in mind, she felt more compelled to near the fire and make sure there were no casualties despite the danger. She could always take to the skies, but if there was someone trapped, she couldn't do without help...and not knowing how dangerous it was, she could not lead others to face peril either. Startled with Dremora's sudden appearance, she jumped in place and turned to face him, "oh...Dremora...Good to see you are well. Have you found anyone else?" she asked, looking back for Sherasti who must have gotten lost when the smoke thickened. She grew nervous at the thought of finding two people, but losing another. Her mind still not completely at normal functioning, Janlu was at a loss what to do next and slightly suspicious that whatever was pulling her before had now stopped.

Naku checked his pods data terminal, to see if it was functional to at least open the hatch. To his dismay, the crash must have caused a serious amount of damage to the pod, not to mention the fact that the pod was dug in the ground deep. The terminal was malfunctioning, giving him only error signs. Naku banged on it, giving up. He looked around the pod, recovering the emergency escape pod's supplies pack. The planet had a tropical climate in the forest, making his robes too cumbersome for him to wear. He stripped down of his robe, leaving only his armor, which was of white and black, with a republic symbol on it, in case he was to be found by republic troopers, if they ever decide to come down planet side. Naku's armor wasn't complete, missing armor pieces were the joints were and legging, only guarding vital points on his body, so as not to sacrifice his mobility. And in this area, he would need it. Within his armor was a hood, which were part of his under robes, that were meant for the situation. He put on the hood, then donned the backpack and looked outside the hatch window. It was barren, quiet. Too quiet. Naku stood back and activated his lightsaber. The blue lighting up the pod as he drove the blade throught the door, carving a path to open it. At this point, the pod was useless, and if troopers saw that, they would see that a Jedi was on planet, and make an attempt to rescue him, and his fellow outcast, if he could meet up with them. Once he was finished with the door, he deactivated it, using the force to return it to it's place on his belt, then kicked the door open. Once he stepped out, immediately he noticed something wrong. No sound was made, not even by the animals. He connected to the force, it was as he feared, either this forest was completely empty, or something happened to the animal. He couldn't sense anything, shy of his Outcast, which were scattered all around them. Then something felt wrong, he couldn't quite pin it, but he felt as though he was being watched, as if a lot of eyes were watching him, but he couldn't see them in the force. Naku didn't need the force to tell him something was about to happen, he felt it in the air. He reached for his sabers, both of them, not activating them as he looked around.

Darth Malice the Fallen Captain

Malice had burst into a run shortly after he had been lunged at when he had stopped by a small stream for a drink. The..."things"...had come out of nowhere...too many of them to engage alone. He had gotten a good look at his attackers, and as he contemplated the small skirmish before he had beat a hasty tactical retreat, he wished he hadn't. Two of the five "things" he had cut down had worn segments of Mando'a armor...the rest had looked to be civilians from the planet. All had been covered in gore, clothes torn and ripped, a few missing limbs. All had chunks missing from their exposed flesh, chunks that looked suspiciously like bites from humanoid mouths.
The five that had made it to him first had met a grisly end at the end of his sabers...or so Malice had thought. As he re-positioned for better combat effectiveness against the press of 25-30 attackers...the first five had gotten back up...Malice had watched with mounting horror as they had shaken off devastatingly fatal wounds and rejoined the horde that was approaching him. "Mandalorians never retreat," his mind whispered to him.
"By Mandalore's blade...that isn't natural. I cut them down...perfect strokes from a lightsaber...how can they still be moving?" His mind begged the answer to this question as another reached him, he spun away from it's lunge, twirling his main saber to remove the abominations outstretched arms. The thing didn't even slow. Malice had plunged his off-hand blade through it's heart as it lunged for him again, and still it had moved closer, it's jaws snapping as it tried to bite him. Malice had shoved it away from him with a Force Push summoned and strengthened by his rising fear. The blast had shoved the attacker away from him, into it's comrades, and knocked the majority of them from their feet.
He had fled as fast as his wounded ribs would allow him. Malice could feel them pursuing him, hear the hastened sound of them shuffling toward him with alarming speed. But try as he might...though he knew they were only a few dozen paces behind him, he could not feel them through the Force. Or rather...he could...but they were like a void...a non-existence. Malice had not known true fear since he had been a fresh faced youngling in the Jedi Order, not until today. These things, whatever they were, were something out of the most horrible of Mandalorian tales told to children to keep them from venturing beyond the confines of the clan.
He had continued on instinct toward the crash site he had been originally heading toward. And as he fled he finally sensed someone. Naku was just ahead, but Malice suddenly worried that he was bringing death toward his brother. He burst into the clearing caused by the crashing shuttle, and seeing his brother, shouted one word as he ran toward him, knowing the Abominations were hot on his heels. "RUN!"
