Memory 1: Re-Entry

In which Seraphan meets humans for the first time. It goes about as well as one might expect.

Having woken up human, he touches down on the outskirts of Lacunosa City, where he meets and inadvertently frightens an elderly woman. He travels south, and meets a trainer who points him towards a bookstore in Nimbasa City.

Memory 2: Humble Home

In which Seraphan finds an apartment, a friend, and a sort-of job.

Darkness Rising - Chapter One: Calm.

I have to admit, Lev's network of contacts is quite extensive, and useful. A patron came in early in the morning, talking about a gathering of gijinka and humans in Castelia City, so we closed up shop and went there to see what was going on. I am glad that Levateinn came along; he is far better with crowds than I, and the courtyard was full of people.

This Pro-Harmony Coalition is most curious, as are their rivals, the group for Equal Rights for Pokemon. Both have similar aims, and yet their methods are vastly different; the Coalition accepts both humans and gijinka, while the Equal Rights group only takes Pokemon.

I am wary of both. It will take cooperation from many in order to achieve lasting peace; excluding humans or Pokemon from the movement can only lead to strife, and the use of force to achieve one's goals over the protests of others. If the Equal Rights group continues to interrupt the gatherings of others and possibly manipulate humans, then they will not meet a warm reception.

But the Coalition's gathering is also suspect. It came together quickly, and I have never heard of this group before. Their leader is a man, and though they claim to work for the betterment of all, they may have more exploitative goals in store. Will we be truly equal if humans are the ones who guide us to it?

No. For Pokemon to be the equals of humans, we must take initiative and liberate ourselves, according to our own terms. Neither group is perfect; both are suspect. To rush in on the side of one or another could do more ill than good. It would be wisest to wait, observe, and think. The right path will become clear to me soon enough.

At the gathering, a red-haired Shedinja approached us. He has a pure heart, but many will ride roughshod over pure hearts. I have seen too many ideals broken and twisted by the whims of circumstance, into something even more vile than malice alone. I pray that Arceus will guide this Ruadhri through life with his good ambitions intact.

Darkness Rising - Chapter Three: Mistrust.

It was less than a day after the gathering, and already there was trouble. News of an explosion reached the store quickly; one of the patrons had a friend caught in the blast, and had received a call about it. I was stocking shelves, but once the news spread through the store, Levateinn told me to go help. On foot, it would have taken him hours to reach the site; by air, I could make it in a fraction of the time.

The building was in ruins when I arrived, but the day's troubles had only just begun. I recognized Iason the Banette from the gathering the day before; he, and many others, had been badly injured. There was a Gardevoir, Anastasia, and an albino Mightyena, Phantasm, who seemed to be under her control; Anastasia seemed determined to capture Iason, with force if need be, and she didn't have any qualms about ordering Phantasm to attack an injured gijinka.

I did not wish to fight my own brethren, any more than I had wanted to fight my own brother -- but I would not back down, either.

More to come.
