I return almost everything. But if it's like.. One single, rusty key on the sidewalk, what's a gal to do?
That.... Is so adorable! User Image

A mother in a store once was not paying attention to her child in the shopping cart and the child dropped a sock, it's pacifier and it's stuffed animal and I alerted her to it so she wouldn't have to lose all that stuff. During the 4th of July a few years back my neighbor threw a party and most of the people that showed up where already drunk upon arrival and I was going for a walk with my friend and his dog and we were across the street were we had seen some of these party goers walking a while ago and I found a $20 on the ground. Yes I kept it, not like it had a name I could use to track down the owner. Another time I lost my schedule book which was a big deal for me because I have the most horrid memory, about 2 hours after realizing it was gone somebody called me and told me they had found it (since my number is in the in case lost area), I brought a friend with (just in case) and retrieved my lost item and thanked the man. That's all I got in stories of lost stuff though.

Daw that's all? I was looking forward to reading more. *pouts*

Um well the $20 on the street you mention or rather you said
" I found a $20 on the ground. Yes I kept it, not like it had a name I could use to track down the owner."

Sounds like you try to rationalize keeping it...
well not rationalize it but add that last part so as not to feel bad for keeping it,
or have others judge you for doing so. And really shouldn't have to, I mean
I doubt anyone wouldn't understand the situation, your choice and make the same.
It's a single bill not a wallet or anything. And not like there's a lost and found desk around every corner. 3nodding

Anyhoo the two hours without your schedule book must have been torture.
The whole loosing something you need and all very stressful. Good to hear you got it back. emotion_kirakira

I don't feel bad for keeping it I feel lucky that I found it and put it to better use buying food for my family that they need cause food stamps aren't enough all the time instead of it being wasted on booze. 3nodding

Oh I'm sorry to hear, that sucks that someone would not turn a wallet into the police where the owner could be located, some people are just horrible. sad

You know who was lucky? The person who stole $75 out of my wallet once when I was at a friend's house with a group of people.
Hard to find a thief in a group of your closest friends...
