(Jabbed the 'hilt' or the 'blade?' I'll assume you meant blade, just incase. ^^)Adeline gasped in pain, her eyes turning into round saucers. Her voice cracked a squeaked as she tried to scream, but nothing came. Her eyes watered as she stumbled back from the man, her arm dripping with blood. It didn't hurt as much as the time she had gotten bit by a zombie, but now both of her arms where injured. Without a second thought, Adeline bent down, stretching her other arm as long as it would go so she could grab to gun without being closer to the man. She grabbed it, and turned her back scrambling back onto the horse, her breath labored with pain. Each breath sounded like a little shriek, and with one last, frightened look at the priest, she dug her heels into her horses's side and darted through the forest. [Exit to Commons]

With a angry glare, he took out his hunting rifle, which was attached to his side. But it was too late, she was already gone. He lowered his gun and reslung it. It was best if he didn't stay here. He looked down at some of the blood and took his Bowie knife, carving letters into the dirt. They read Ludicavit Ad Mortem and he carved a Celtic Cross above it. Without a second thought, he gathered his stuff together, took a deep breath, and made a break for it too the city. [Exit to somewhere in the city (gotta decide)]

Melody had no recollection of how long she's been running for her life. After witnessing her father feast on her mother, she's been too scared to speak. She's been on her own from the moment she climbed out of her window. Her older sister,Ember, was no where to be found. 'Where could she be?' Melody wondered, sitting under a tree to rest. Her feet were sore from running barefoot for such a long time, and she had scratches from the trees and bushes she ran passed. In her hand, she held a baseball bat that she found down the street. So far,she hadn't used it....but the previous owner had, since there was blood covering it at the top. She leaned her head against the tree and watched the water sparkle from where she sat. She closed her eyes and listened to the woods around her. Melody hadn't been able to rest since she ran from her home. But it couldn't hurt to rest even for a little while, right? She was only eight years old....

Brittany walked along the river side and was looking for tracks,When she spotted some,She bent down and began looking them over,They were quite small and were defiantly of a child,She got up and pulled Aku out of her bag,She set him on the ground and he ran off following the trail of foot prints,When he found the young girl he walked out of the bushes and made a small chittering noise,He slowly walked forward and licked her hand,Brittany and Desoto waited for Aku to return.

Melody's eyes snapped open at the sudden sound, mistaking it for one of the sick people. She gripped her bat and looked around, waiting for someone to rush at her and try and bite her. But she soon relaxed when she noticed the small animal next to her. She smiled and slowly began to pet it. Melody giggled slightly and put the bat down. "Hello."She said in a frail, small voice. " You're cute."She giggled. "Where'd you come from?"

Aku chittered a little louder so that Brittany could hear him,Brittany heard Aku and slowly walked forward,Desoto followed her slowly and quietly,Brittany walked out of the trees to where Aku and the Girl were,She crouched down so she was the same height as the girl, "Are you Embers little sister?"She asked quietly noticing that she looked kinda like Ember.Aku walked over to Brittany so the girl knew that She wasn't a threat.Desoto laid down next to Brittany so that he wasn't scary to the girl seeing as he was almost as tall as her if she were standing.Aku walked back over to the little girl and licked her hand again so she didnt get scared.

Melody's eyes went frightful at the sight of a human figure come her way. Her hand clenched around the baseball bat until she noticed the figure didn't look at all like a monster, but to be safe, she remained still, ready to strike. But when the woman knelt to her height and asked about her being Ember's sister, her eyes begin to water. Melody nodded slowly, not wanting to speak it. Melody then began to cry loudly, fear of never seeing Ember again began to resurface. She was so scared out on her own. Scared that she would die, scared that nobody would come and help her in any way. Her feet hurt, her legs were sore and she had a few bruises here and there from falling every now and then, not to mention she was overly tired. "Do you know where she is?"Melody managed to sob out.

Melody gently began to pet Aku with a small smile on her face. She took her other hand and began to wipe her tears. The dirt that covered her face had streaks in it from her crying. "Thank you."She said softly. "My name's Melody."She looked up at Brittany with a small smile, then looked down at the giant dog she rode on. She gently pet the top of his head and giggled. "I like your animals. They're cute." Melody's heart was racing at the thought of Ember being safe and sound. " You're nice."She said, looking up at Brittany. "Why are the people eating eachother?"Melody was curious as to what was going on. She was only 8,so how was she suppose to know what's happening in the world?

Melody listened to Brittany as she tried to explain the plague that spread throughout the city. She noticed that Brittany was moving faster, which made her wonder where they were going. "Where are we going? Will Ember be there?"Melody couldn't help but ask this question. She didn't want to go anywhere untless Ember was there waiting for her. "Is it safe from teh sick people?"Melody looked down at Aku and giggled, playing with his fur. She picked him up and hugged him gently.

Melody smiled slightly at Brittany and kissed Aku on the top of the head as they entered the camp. So many things were swarming the young eight year olds mind, but happiness was the first reaction she had when she saw the people behind the trees in the camp. ((Exit to Gypsy camp))

It was about a ten minute's walk from the barn to the river, most of which had been in wide open fields where seeing walkers for long distances had been easy. There were none to dodge luckily, but she grew nervous knowing the soon she would have to cross a bit of forest to reach the water. The breath caught in her throat, her lips forming the nervous 'o' as usual. She held her breath, forcing herself to not be afraid and just do it, which she did, but with great caution. She was careful of where she stepped, listened closely, not hearing much other than birds fluttering and singing... It was quite lovely, actually. Liberating as well... When she drew close to the river, her eyes shifted nervously around, most other sounds were overshadowed by the water flowing. After a few moments of observation, she ducked down and placed the bucket in the water, keeping hold of the handle as the current was surprisingly strong at this part of the river. Her machete was on the ground just next to her feet as she stretched to put the bucket in the water and yet not get her shoes wet. As she enjoyed the sun that peeked through the trees, she heard the sound she'd hoped never to hear again. It was the eerie and determined 'guh' sound followed by a disturbing 'gak' sound. Her body quaked as she let go of the bucket and turned quickly around to see that a walker was just in front of her, it's arms outstretched and mouth greedy. As she leaned back to get away from it, who used to be a her, she reached to the machete that was now on her left side but as she did, she toppled backward and into the water. Though she now laid back on rocks and stones, she had managed to grab the machete. She swung frantically at the walker before her, only slicing it's midsection which did no good. The walker was practically laying on top of her now, pushing her face under the water, causing her to panic more as she could not breathe. With her machete she continued swinging away, blindly hoping to cut something vital... and then it happened. She had managed to cut the head in two, slantwise. She knew immediately because the walker went limp atop her, her face still under water, until she used every bit of energy she had saved from the terrible night's sleep to push the body from her. Falene emerged from the water soaking wet and gasping for air. The body of the walker laid on the shore, one of its hands barely in the water. She stood up, her pant legs were surprisingly not very wet, for her feet had been onshore for most of the scuffle. That was until she remembered the bucket that had drifted downstream a ways and had caught on a rock. "Revenez ici!" [Get back here!] she stumbled back into the water, running with the current to retrieve the bucket. Once she had, she returned to the spot where the corpse was. Falene, now exhausted set the bucket onshore and walked over to the once female walker, taking an arm and tugging it. She pulled the dead weight away from the water and barely passed the treeline, just to be sure. When she approached the river again, the daunting half-of-a face peered at her from a shallow spot in the water. The piece of the head she'd cut off. It had gotten stuck on a sandbar. Approaching it with an expression of disgust and sadness, she did what she must and delicately picked it up with only fingertips, being careful not to touch the even more disgusting slashed part. She walked quickly, not wanting to hold the thing for long, and place it near the body, feeling that it must be with it. She was a person at one time... "Que Dieu vous accorde la paix," [May God grant you peace,"] she whispered to the corpse, feeling an undeniable amount of sadness. It had been a long time since she had killed to survive, and she was never able to get used to the feeling when the thing you had to kill still resembled a human. After a moment's hesitation she walked back to the bucket, poured out the water, rinsed her hands, waited for a good flow of water to go by, hopefully the strong current would carry away the yuck. Scar would boil the water regardless. She felt her eyes grow teary as she grabbed at her soaking wet clothes, ever-frustrated at the way things had turned out. Not just these occurrences, but life, the world, her position in the group being weak... It was hard to tell but her tears mixed with the water on her face, making her cheeks warm where the tears had trailed. She fixed her expression, wiping excess water and tears from her cheeks, forcing herself not to cry anymore, rinsed and refilled the bucket and turned to make her way back home. She just wasn't sure how to explain her drenched clothes...

Chaz wandered through the field carefully. Since Sarren came to the barn, there seemed to be more Walkers in the outlying area. He cut through the wooded part quickly to reach the river. Once there, he surveyed around and looked for any Walkers. None. He got to his knees and dunked his head into the water. He kept it there for 10 seconds..then 20...then 30...then 35...then took his head out of the water and coughed, unable to hold his breath anymore. He looked at the water to see a faint red and black liquid flow. He ran his fingers in it and brought it to his nose and smelled it. Blood? He heard a tree branch snap and he turned around to see a Walker right up on him. It ran into him and pushed him down on the sand, and he wrestled with the Walker to prevent it from biting him. He reached for his sword, but it was out of reach. The fingers on the Walker were all missing, looking like it was chewed off. Well that takes care of one problem...the Walker snapped again trying to get even a little bit of his flesh..his blood...His muscles ached with exhaustion. He groaned in anger at his own weakness and struggled harder, managing to roll over on top of the Walker. Its fingerless hands tried to pat at Chaz, but to no avail. He raised a fist in the air and brought it down quickly onto the Walker's head, which seemed to stun it. He scrambled off of it and crawled to grab his tomahawk. The Walker used both club-like hands and grabbed his foot, when Chaz turned around and planted the tomahawk striaght in its head. He took a deep breath and stood up. Why was he so damn weak?
