MADLYALICE Awesome stuff guys! Supinelu, I hope you don't mind but I borrowed this idea for the Hawaii forum on the NaNo website. I thought it'd be a fun thing over there. C: Complete credit to you, of course! I dun mind :3 And because I'm lazy, I'mma post my bit for the day in this post. Quote: Koloma gasped, instinct half screaming at him to force his wings to take him to flight and away, despite the pain, the other half trying to force him to curl down, dive through the ground like the grass would give way to water if he just went deep enough.

I know I already gave mine for the day, but I forgot to share this one :3 Quote: As I sat outside with a blanket around my shoulders, paramedics at my side, I stared blankly at the flames, waiting for London to be carried out as well. She never was. With a creak, the building seemed to give up, collapsing under the weight of the flames to nothing more than a pile of rubble. As I gazed at the flames it gave off, it seemed to me as though one of them looked like a bird spreading its wings and flying away. A soul leaving the mortal plane.

Dark Doe Alysse I know I already gave mine for the day, but I forgot to share this one :3 Quote: As I sat outside with a blanket around my shoulders, paramedics at my side, I stared blankly at the flames, waiting for London to be carried out as well. Never meant to restrict it to just one post a day. Post every five minutes if you like :] This one's pretty big but I liked reading over it, so here it is: Quote: “Go to sleep Koloma,” Chloe said, voice lowered so only he could hear him, smiling faintly down at him. “I’ve got you. When you wake up again Zoey will give you another dose of the antidote and we’ll try to rouse Ninga again, get him to eat something along with you.” Against his will Koloma felt himself following orders, ever the solider, eyes slipping shut in exhaustion. It was only after a silence Chloe spoke again. Koloma is never sure afterwards he ever did. But for some reason he remembers words. “You can trust us, you know? I get that we’re all strangers but if Zoey hadn’t acted when he had you might not be alive right now. You might not need us to protect you, but it’s not such a bad thing to have a shoulder to lean on every now and again, is it?” Koloma murmurs in his haze, whether an affirmative comment or a snort he’s not sure. He leans towards the second though. This is all about survival, he thinks, it can’t be anything else. But Koloma thinks he feels a weight on his arm, skin to skin contact he normally would have shaken off but Chloe’s hand is warm and solid so it stays.

Supinelu Do multiples! Never meant to restrict it to just one post a day. Post every five minutes if you like :] I know that! I'm trying not to distract myself so that I can eat my chocolate!!! Anyways, I have another contribution to make: Quote: Taking the pen from her, I looked at the papers. There were only five, and it was mostly medical and legal information: name, date of birth, age, adress of residence, known medical illnesses, the like. The last page was a questionaire about why I had contacted Clarity Refuge. With a sigh, I began to fill it out, knowing that there was no going back. It didn't take me long to fill out the page, although I went as slowly as possible. When I reached the end, I scrawled my name on the line at the bottom and dated it, feeling as though I was signing my life away.

Quote: “Oh you'll be seeing me again soon,” the Seeker replied. “I don't think I'd miss this meeting of the court for the world. I shall walk with you, if only so you don't lose your blue-eyed charge again.” “Wait,” MC interrupted catching on to one very important statement. “Blue-eyed? Is that what this is all about? You've chased me across a country side and arrested me because my eyes are blue!? What in the hell?” She began to struggle again, not believing how stupid this all was. The guards were at least twice her size, however and all of her struggles were for nothing. In fact, all they earned her was a canvas bag covering her head. “Shh,” the Greeter hissed insistently, attempting to hush her. “Be quiet. The last thing you want to do is send everyone into a panic. Bring her, quickly. Before someone overhears.” “Yes, because you're being oh so inconspicuous. I can already hear the whispers,” MC heard Seeker quip quietly. Nothing much really jumped out at me as awesome today. This scene went on longer than expected, which isn't a bad thing, it's just a...long thing. Seeker is my favorite character so far though.

Quote: And as it always had, the elevator promptly shattered. Death focused as hard as It could on the form It wanted to take; the glamour It would hide behind while on Earth. An agonizing rush of pain hit Death, as it’s butterflies were torn away from It. And for a brief moment, It was without a body and simply a soul. Clouds rushed by Death as a bone structure was built to house It. Muscles and organs built themselves in their proper place, and skin knitted itself over every exposed piece. Nails and hair grew, eyes flicked into place and clothing sewed itself into being. The cloud layed suddenly fell away, and Death saw white light. Here's mine! I kinda wanted the way that people from The Ethereal to get their human glamours to be similar in build to how Milla Jovovich is made in the Fifth Element; but a lot more painful because the soul is aware of what's happening.

Supinelu Ah. Chocolate is all important :3 Carry on. Indeed! I use it to make sure I write. I can eat one chocolate when I reach the suggested word count for the day, and another when I reach my daily goal. I just hope I don't run out of chocolate before the month is over XD Anywho~ This one is kind of long, but I enjoyed writing it, even if the one character is a horrible person, he's supposed to come off that way. Quote: “Hmph,” came the voice of the young man across from us, the first time he had spoken in the conversation, “Figures the crazies would flock together.” “Oh yeah? Then what are you here for?” “I told the authorities that the fire spoke to me and told me that the house had to burn. People in positions of power are so easy to fool.” “So you're in here for... what exactly?” “You see, once upon a time there was a nice happy family, a mother, a father, a son and daughter. They had such a nice life. The girl was into ballet, and was actually pretty good at it, in fact, her dance class was competing in the regionals that year. The little boy was a model student and had just started playing soccer. He was center forward and the best player on his team.-” “So what exactly is this story amounting to?” “I'm not finished yet, moron. As I was saying, the father was the bread winner of the family, an extremely successful lawyer, who specialized in cases like mine, and the mother, what a beautiful woman. She was young, but happy. She stayed at home to look after house and home. They even had a little white dog, it was oh so cute, a little wiggly kick-it, a Pomeranian in fact, fluffy, friendly, and very excitable. And how did I know this sickeningly perfect family you might ask? Simple, I was their next door neighbour, for a while that is, until that fateful night. At that time, I worked at the plumbing company, so it was no big deal for me to get at their water system and 'fix it up,' with a little gasoline of course. And it was such a pity, but I just so happened to spill some all around their house and drop a match on it. And how did I get away with standing outside and listening while they screamed in terror and pain? Simple, I just pretended to be crazy, and well, here I am.” “Th-that's hic h-hic-horrible!” Elinor exclaimed, very near to tears, “I hic d-don't even hic hic r-remember my f-family. W-what if hic something like that h-happened to mine!” “Well perhaps that wasn't the first time I'd done something like that~” his voice was dark and ominous. My eyes narrowed and I glared at him. Every fibre of my being wanted to strike him for his attitude, for what he had done, it took everything I had to hold myself back. The whole time he had been speaking, he had not moved, the book still resting on his face. Leaping forward, I grabbed the book, snapping it shut mere inches from the young man's nose. “Break this book's spine and I'll break yours.”

Nothing spectacular today but this. There is something painfully sadface about Zoey Channar. It will likely only get worse too /cradles Quote: Zoey is pale faced, pistol in a hand lolling at his side, mostly mute. He plays the destruction of his ship and the deaths of its entire crew on rerun inside his head where he stands untouched by the Drulant’s departure but for the cold morning air’s rustle of his hair.

I need that after SPOILERS Quote: “Come on.” she finally said, still seething with rage, “let's get away from this third derivative of a position function.” Hooray calculus jokes! (don't worry, I explain it almost immediately afterwards)

I have to take Calculus next semester emotion_donotwant And it did, in fact, get worse. I love this entire thing so I'm copy/pasting it here ~ Quote: Prompt: you're not alone (everything’s a nightmare when you’re alone, so, you’re not alone now) Character Focus: Ninga Balfon, Zoey Channar
Zoey doesn’t really feel the destruction of the Drulant until much later, long after he can no longer see the actual destruction site. It’s written across the backs of his eyelids, yes, but he processes nothing for a time. Zoey feels remarkably numb until about the third night to the date it happened.
That night he’s shaken awake, peering groggily at the irritated face of one of his companions. Koloma, he thinks, seeing the wings spread splendidly across the others back. But seeing those wings brings back so many memories. Zoey recalls flying, feeling his hands steering the Drulant as naturally as though he’d been bred to do nothing else. He recalls being on deck under the protective shielding while the ship steered itself, just lying there finding some peace in the never changing field of black all around him. He sees faces too – Jun, the ship’s doctor, patient hands tending to some injury or another (and Zoey has had many of those), Kale and her s**t eating grin, staring down the scope of the Drulant’s weaponry at some unfortunate target some distance off. He remembers everyone, with his first true pangs of grief since everything, everything changed forever. And Zoey feels it all in the span of a minute, a minute he spends barely able to breathe much less respond to Koloma’s scowl.
“If you’re going to be screaming,” the winged man snaps at him, “you might as well be on watch. Try not to direct everything in a one mile radius here.”
And Koloma stalks off without waiting for response, disappearing into the forest. When he doesn’t return after a few minutes Zoey sits up, smoothing down his unruly hair with shaking hands. Well, at least it’s better than going back to sleep. He’s not sure that’s even a possibility now.
Zoey takes Koloma’s usual seat, close to Ninga, and tries to calm his breathing. He doesn’t want to wake either of the others up. Zoey tells himself that even though he would desperately appreciate the company. The forest around them is unnaturally silent it seems, so much so that every snapped twig makes Zoey’s hands shake anew every time he’s managed to steady them.
At some point in the night, Zoey’s not a whit sure at what time, he starts watching Ninga sleep. The other man’s back is to him so it somehow alleviates the feeling Zoey is doing something he shouldn’t, not much but enough. So he focuses on him, watching the rise and fall of his blanket, not realizing that after a while his own breathing has calmed. Is moving in the same rhythmic pattern. Zoey tucks his hands into his sleeves to prevent himself from seeing the shaking. He can still feel it, but with his hands not visible somehow that calms him too. He’s still half playing the Drulant’s explosion over and over in his brain but no longer seeing the faces of his friends. His family. They slowly fade as the night goes on, even as Zoey both clings to them and tries to push them away, until Zoey jerks upright an unknown time later, unable to remember even the color of his first mate's eyes.
He must have fallen asleep at some point because though it’s still night, cobalt blue eyes are staring at him and Ninga’s bed is abandoned.
“I didn’t wake you, did I?” Zoey asks him quietly, still stuck on that one, absurdly important point. He doesn’t remember Kaz’s eye color. The thought makes Zoey suck in a breath that sounds like he’s choking.
Ninga watches him a while, quietly.
“No,” comes the response, “I just don’t tend to sleep well much.”
Zoey smiles wanly at this. “That we share in common, I think.”
“Koloma had watch the last time I knew. He was supposed to wake me.” Ninga leaves the question unfinished, tilting his head in that way Zoey’s associated by now means he’s free to answer it or leave it.
Leaving it hanging out there would just be awkward, wouldn’t it?
“I had nightmares,” he says, not looking Ninga in the eye, “so I suppose I woke myself up.”
“Sometimes that’s for the best,” Ninga tells him, lying back down on his pallet and drawing the blanket neatly up around him. He doesn’t go back to sleep though, merely tilts his head back and looks up at the sky.
Zoey does the same, seeing stars he doesn’t recognize, and wonders if it really is. This was supposed to be...more intimate then this? But I like how it came out anyway even if it doesn't exactly fit the prompt to a T.

Quote: Hobo-man laughed and stood up straight, only coming to a few inches taller than MC. He had to be the first man she'd met in the SDW that didn't tower over her. “Cool it, bright eyes,” he said between chuckles. “I just wanted to look. No need to get all shirty with me.” “Look? Look! I don't know what your definition of looking is, but mine doesn't involve dragging a person down a dark scary alleyway. I've been duly informed of the things that reside in these alleys and I want nothing to do with it!” Unfortunately, the rant only served to make her assailant laugh harder. “Oh man, you're certainly full of it, aren't you? I bet you're causing the top ringers all sorts of grief!” “Why you rude little man!” “Hey! Who you calling little, short-stack?” I am soooo happy to get out of Chapter 2. It's way too long. Anyway, I got to (And finished) chapter 2.2 today which means the Rogue! Rogues are always fun.

Quote: He’d been reading for two hours now and only gotten through a dozen pages, every other second keeping track of Ara as he ate breakfast (which consisted of mostly fruit, including oranges, and Aries hated oranges with an undying passion) or glancing at the stairs for the fiftieth time that morning. Aries doesn't get out much. Stalking Ara and knowing what he's doing at any one time is just too much fun!

Double posting simply because: a) I can b) 15k!!! c) this is the best description I've ever come up of for Ninga, and the similarity he shares with Koloma is what will eventually drive them together Quote: His guard is down then, something broken darkens his eyes, highlights the thinness of his face and makes the hair that falls into his eyes seem more like a shield than anything. Only for a moment. Ninga wakes before the others except for Koloma and before meeting his stare every morning, settles steel over the broken, settles humor for a grimace in a small smile. Only for those moments is Koloma invited through the façade, sees himself.
