The more I think about this the more I get excited for the potential comedy I'm gonna write. Looking back at some of my old RP characters one comes to mind. Now I wrote him when I was...16, and as you may guess he was a bit...emotional. It'll be hilarious to have my 22 year old self meet a 16 year old whiny reflection of my immature teenage self. This is gonna be good...

I've been watching in the winds as you all discuss this, and I'd really like to see this get a thread started soon.
I put together a game like this once but never put it through it's paces; glad to see a similar idea garning such a response... Keep it up, cause this one's gotta' start. ^^ *snaps to attention with a salute* Yes sir, captain, sir!

n.n I'm glad to have gotten such a positive reception. I think I might even be ready to work on fleshing this out into a regular thread. It still needs a name, though...

lol. I'll throw my vote in on that; got kindof a "Blue Harvest" vibe to it, wherein the name sorta hides any plot interest whatsoever, though insiders know the contrary [ie, like Lucas naming the script to Empire, "blue harvest" so the press couldn't get the scoop on the sequel, 'til the last minute that is]...

Count me in for this if there's any room left. And I agree with Kawada. Going back to my roots and using my first ever character would prove hilarious, though I can think of better characters to use. Hmm.....this may require more thought. cat_stare

I like the suggested title.
Though I still have a few questions, if that's okay.
Beyond the premise, what is the plot?
Is it just us dealing with our little Frankensteins in the real world, or something more that keeps us all bound together?
For instance, the organization has second thoughts about letting us keep our characters, they want them to user for promotional purposes. We, and our characters don't want someone else with our creations so we are running from the agents, trying to figure out how to bring down the company with the help of our super awesome characters.
Sort of a metaphorical tale about the 'little guys' work being stolen by large companies/organizations/publishers and a writer's relationship to their work.
Anyway just a question/idea, I'm in either way.
And refresh me, I remember you mentioning a multiverse.
So there are worlds that we, the writer, have created where our stories exist in reality?
I could be wrong but I thought you said something along those lines.
If so, this company is snatching our characters from their world?
Or this is like genetic building humans and programming their minds?

I guess we have a winner for the name. Cool. Yes, the premise is that our world is part of a multiverse, and that roleplay characters inhabit other universes within that multiverse. What the company does is use their device to locate the 'verse and character, and then create in our world a perfect genetic copy (a clone), with all the memories of the original. They could just pull them through to our world, but they did that once, and the fact that roleplay characters tend to be kind of important in their world's history meant that the world in question kind of collapsed. So, now they clone. Beyond the premise, you've got a two-part plot. The characters in this roleplay are the beta test. So, one of the villains is going to be an alpha-test character, someone written to be a villain in an RP, a villain that had won against the heroes in their world. This character has gotten loose after killing their author. The other bit is going to be similar to what you said. The company wants to use the character for promotional purposes. In particular there is going to be one executive that sees them as 'company property'. After all, there was a clause in the rules that stated, "Materials created by the company may be used for promotional use" or something along those lines.

Phew! Just barely got mine into the first 5... Thought I wouldn't... *wipes off sweat* I had SO MUCH TROUBLE trying to choose my character. XD Meh. I didn't really have any human characters of mine that I wanted to play... XD It was hard 'cuz I didn't really wanna do ANY of them that much, rather I wanted to do my character from Gaia Breach... But I really don't want to meet her in real life. I'll get killed, as well as everyone in the room... XD MEH.
But I'm excited! I'm really excited! >.<
