The streets of Midgar were dark, as usual. Kano watched as ShinRa-made vehicles of all types sped by, on their way to some destination that he could only guess. It was strange, knowing that each and every person in this city was ruled by the ShinRa Corporation, and that he was a member of that very company. In Callisto, he had fought against the Red Dragons, who ruled that city much like the ShinRa owned this one. That had lead to his capture and subsequent employment by the very organization he had been trying to bring down.
What future did Midgar hold for him, he wondered? It was easy to lose oneself in thought walking along the dank sidewalks of the floating city. The suit he wore was like wearing a neon sign that said "Stay Away!" And a wise citizen knew that at all times they should obey the sign. Indeed, as a Turk he was amongst the most feared and respected men in the city. Somehow, he felt uneasy with the fact that he liked it.
His guns bounced against his waist in their holsters, tapping in-time with the soft sounds of his feet touching the ground. It's calming, repetitive feeling kept his wandering mind occupied for the rest of his journey. At last, by the sounds of the sweet saxophone music inside, he knew he had made it to the bar. Kano's grey eyes raised to the sign above the bar that would have confirmed it, had he not already been so familiar with the joint.
"Gren's Jazz Bar," he mumbled with a relieved sigh, at last in a place where he could truly unwind. Gren's saxophone was the best he had ever heard, and always you could find him on stage playing his melodies. It was soothing, even to the young Turk's tumultuous mind and body. Already he could feel the tension leaving him...to him, it was amongst the most wonderful feelings in the world.
Kano smirked and pushed open the door, looking instantly around the room to see if his partner had come in before him. If he had, he'd join him as he always did. If not, he'd just go to the bar and have a seat for a while. Either way, a few drinks and the sounds of Gren's Jazz seemed just the ticket after a long day working for the ShinRa.
