Kurokoneko told the boy her name was Kurokoneko and that she was indeed a meister. She asked him if he had a meister yet, she doubted it, she hadn't seen him with a partner yet.

"It's Firence, what's yours."

Firence remembered that Death had rejected the souls he had brought to him because his miester had died so he had to start over. " Yes I remember you."

"Yeah that's good, that witch was strong. So what do you want with me.

Kurokoneko said said she did not have a meister, "tell me if you don't find a partner by the end of the day," and with that she walked away with a wave. She decided to go look for a fight, she wanted to keep practicing her new technique. She saw a meister and a weapon she knew, she thought their names were Shanos and Kita. Since she had been training for three years, even though she didn't have a weapon she was quite formidable and had many skills. She used her power to see their souls, she saw that they had gotten stronger since last time she saw them. "This might actually be somewhat of a challenge." She walked toward them to challenge them...

"Let's go ask Lord Death if we can be partners." said Firence

Kurokoneko walked over to Kita and Shanos, "Hello Kita, care to test your skills?" Kita accepted and they walked outside, but not before they asked instuctor Sid to supervise their fight. Kurokoneko was sure Kita and Shanos felt confident because she didn't have a weapon and Kita had a weapon. They stood outside right below one of the giant spires from the skull on the DWMA. Shanos turned into a cutlass and Sid yelled "Start!" Immediately Kita lunged at Kurokoneko, Kurokoneko jumped straight up and came down hard. Kita moved just in time and swiped at her with Shanos, but Kurokoneko ducked down and when Kita was still swinging Shanos she put her hands to Kita's side. She realized a small crowd was gathering to watch their fight. While Kurokoneko's hands were on Kita's side she shot a soul wave into her and Kita flew back and landed hard. She tried to get up but fell back down."Kurokoneko wins!" yelled Sid. Kurokoneko went to help Kita and Shanos, who had went back to human form, up and told her it was a good fight. Kita seemed surprised to be beaten by a meister who didn't even have a weapon. They went back inside. Kurokoneko realized the event was almost over so she waited for Ogama to come and find her.

Kurokoneko was thinking about that attack she had performed to end the fight, she saw that Professor Stein was in the crowd for a bit and decided to ask him about it. Stein would know. She was still thinking about it when she heard someone yelling her name, she turned around quickly and saw it was Ogama. When he got to her she said, "So I take it you haven't found a meister? Well I haven't found a weapon so I guess we're partners now 3nodding ."
