Spottedteddybears BarrelOfSlothAndDucks BasiWolff BarrelOfSlothAndDucks During the ball I would like to host an art or avi contest. I already have the items planned. They'll be based off the story. Bleeding Heart comes from he thief stealing the queen's heart. Prince Dashing comes from a character I would like to be in the story basically he's just the frightful yet usually happy son of the queen. Prince of Thieves comes from the thief who wants to steal the queen's heart, I was going to use thief of hearts but it was too dull. Embarrassed Dream comes from the fact that the ball's theme is a dream. I also want to base one off the queen but I can't find one I was thinking of Queen Anne's Lace? But if I can't use that I need to know another co-hosts,host,secondary hosts, etc. character so I can find a fifth item stare I'll get the money for the items off cash cards.
Also, that's an awful lot of items for just one contest. Usually there's just one item as the top prize, sometimes a second, smaller one for the runner up. Five items is insane... there might not even be that many entrants! eek
Anyways, the room now has something like 160K -ish, based on what was posted and what I just added. We will have plenty of money for the room by August, if I have any say in the matter! It really isn't a bother getting these items to tell the truth. I was just thinking of a fun little contest. And I just thought that it would probably be official later on it really is a fantastic idea! I may have gotten carried away but I thought since I would probably be judging the contest I could just add how many I want. And,I could also pair items together like the queen item and Bleeding Heart for 3rd place. Prince of Thieves and Prince Dashing for 2nd and Embarrassed dream for first. Wow. Embarrassed Dream? Are you sure? That's expensive for one prize. Normally, we just do about 200k each grand prize, dwindling as we go lower... We don't have to worry so early into the year, though! I know, but I always thought that the prizes weren't enough. It really isn't much I just have to buy about two cash cards. I usually get about A half mil to 2mil for one cash card. I won't do something simple like avi contests for the Dream. Maybe writing or drawing. I just want to step it up a level.

Well, maybe they would be better spread out over multiple contests? Especially if 2nd and 3rd place are getting multiple items! Usually contests have an item and cash prize for 1st, then smaller cash prizes (or an item) for runner up and sometimes 3rd.
Besides, we have to get the plot ironed out before dealing with plot-related items!
What I'm trying to say is, you've probably got great ideas, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves or you might wind up with wasted money that could be used for yourself or on something more pertinent to the ball if we suddenly change gears and go another direction, and you might consider reining things in, or else one contest will dominate the others because it has so many prizes, which will cause unbalance and be rather un-fun.

I'd just keep the three character items for my contest. Someone else can use the Dream and Bleeding heart for theirs . And, I won't be getting these items till much later. Maybe at the end of the year. EIther way if these don't work out I'll just keep them. A Prince of Thieves and Embarrassed dream wouldn't be too bad having mrgreen

Here I was hoping I wouldn't have any competition regarding that...No worries, once we get all the contests done, you can volunteer and discuss who gets what! except for mystery, because that's all mine...

My, oh my, we are busy bees!
Deciding all the contests and prizes and such already... ;3
First thing is deciding what contests there should be, and then if you have ideas for prizes already that is wonderful. We do need to stay on track, though, and get things ironed out before we start envisioning an end product or else that vision is most likely going to have to be changes to suit how things develop... and I've always hated being the one to be excited for something only to have to plan again, and again, and again... etc.
That said, those prizes would be awesome and so well picked. IF we do have the characters for the prizes, this is what I would suggest: Instead of having all those prizes for the same contest, award them in the contests that are hosted by that character. Ideally, all of us will have at least one contest to spear head and that would put our characters at the head of them.

And I should make the prizes more equal if we are going to do that. I don't think someone having a bleeding heart as the main prize will be fair compare to someone else having a Prince of Thieves.

Queen Anne's Lace,Prince of Thieves,Bleeding Heart,and Prince Dashing. I may or may not donate Embarrassed Dream since we're doing the whole character thing. I'll probably donate more once I know which characters the other hosts are playing. And I won't be donating these for a while, maybe until winter.
