Journal Entry #2
It has been a seven day since I found that flit egg on the beach, and I have not gotten the courage up to seek Ashmere out to talk to her yet. But there is good news that some what makes up for my lack of nerve. The egg hatched! Well… sort of, the little fella needed some help cracking his shell. Small egg means small flit, he just was not strong enough to break through the shell. I helped him out and fed the little beast, he was so hungry, poor guy. He’s sleeping on my lap right now. I’ve named him Moor. He is so handsome. He is this dark grey with black stripes on his back and so affectionate. I adore him. Right now all he is doing is eating and sleeping, but that is what babys do, so I don’t mind all that much. I can’t wait until he is old enough for me to train. I can write mother and let her know how things are going and check up on Maddy. I know mother will take care of her, but I still want to check up on her. I wonder how they are doing at home? Oh Moor’s awake I need to go feed him.
Oops never got back to this. Moor, chores and training kept me busy. Moor is doing well, he’s still tiny though. He is eating and sleeping less now and has ventured away from me a little, but not much. Now that he is not sleeping so much though I can’t take him to training anymore. I am teaching him to stay, that is going well. He doesn’t like to be away from me but he is learning that he doesn’t need me all the time. I stil haven’t talked to Ashmere. But I have been busy. I guess that’s what it’s going to be like, only even more intense with a dragon. It does not take long at all to oil Moor, even when he is full grown it will not take long. That doesn’t mean I rush when I’m oiling him now. I like the down time and he loves the attention. I love giving it too him too. He likes to sit on my shoulder when I’m moving around and he’s awake. Otherwise I carry him around, he has some pretty nasty claws though, I have scratches all over my arms.
I went to the healer though and got some cream to help those scratches heal better. He doesn’t mean too. Poor boy is almost afriad of other flits and people too. I hope he isn’t getting that from my lack of nerve to make frineds. But if he is then I have to try harder to make some friends so he can be more comforatble around other people and flits. I don’t want him lonely when I can’t have him with me all the time.
I am thinking about going out to relax in the sun for a while. I have finished my chores for today, and it’s not even supper time so it is far to early to go to bed. Moor seems to like this idea, he likes it when I have chores outside so he can bask in the sun and feel safe still. So going out there with him to just rest will be nice for both of us. He is a bit of a hand full, sometimes.
