(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Icirrus, hunh?" Melody tapped her chin in thought for a moment. "That's a ground-type Gym, if memory serves..." It was a safe bet, she thought to herself, that Landon probably wouldn't like Emerald(her shiny Eelektross), what with his sole ability - to the Gym Leader's Ground-type specialty - rendered null and void by his ability, Levitate. "I'm willing to bet that you're not that big of a fan of Tynamo's evolutionary line then, hunh?" She was tempted to call Emerald out - to prove her point - but ultimately decided against it.

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Landon silently scoffed and rolled his eyes at Nori's comment, paying no mind to either of their Pokemon. "I've no intention of causing trouble..." he said, glancing away from the Electric-typer. At least she didn't seem to mind him being here in her city... not that her opinion would hold any bearing on what he wanted to do anyway. Still, Nori thinking that he was a 'quiet guy' was better than what some other people say, so he was at least thankful for that.
Landon then turned to Melody as she spoke to him. "Yeah, Ground-type gym." he said modestly. "Hence why Marcus is an integral part of my team." Hearing that, the Seismitoad puffed his chest out again, croaking proudly and happily. "As far as Tynamo and his evolutions go..." he continued, "... I've got ways of dealing with Pokemon like that. Trainers always think they can counter my Ground-types with Pokemon that fly or levitate. Of course, they're usually wrong." The brown-haired Gym Leader wasn't being prideful, mind you... he was just being honest.
The Ground-typer then paused, staying quiet for a bit. He hadn't spoken to strangers this much since... well, since he first met Irving, he figured. It was a strange feeling, really. He wasn't sure if he liked it or not. Landon let his eyes wander away from the group, his gaze lingering on the ground next to him. He wasn't really sure what to do at this point. Find something else to talk about? Just leave and look for that last Pokemon? This company he found himself in... it was all too foreign to him.

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Hmm~..." Melody tapped her chin for a moment or two, keeping her thought(s) to herself.
Not really sure what to do, Cydonia followed suit. 'Bla~aziken...'
With Lydia off who-knows-where, that meant that any and all Multi challenges at the Battle Subway were stalled for a while. And while Melody was perfectly fine with going back and taking care of any Single line challengers, they would all inevitably go for Multi. ...She needed to find Lydia.
"..." She cast a stray glance in Landon's direction. "I don't know about you, Mr. Drake." she began. "But I've gotta track down the other Subway Boss before people at the Multi line(s) begin to complain." She chuckled, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
Again, Cydonia followed suit. 'BlazBlaziken.'
"If you're up for a trek around Unova while I search for her, you're welcome to tag along."

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Landon alternated his gaze between the woman and her Blaziken, listening to what she had to say. "So, finding the other Subway Boss is what you're doing then..." he said, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Well, I'm headed towards Route 3 anyway, to catch a particular Pokemon... I suppose we could travel down that way if you wanted..." He figured he'd might as well go with her. No harm in that, right? Besides, after catching that last Pokemon, there was no other reason to be out and about. His decision, however, warranted another charming elbow in the side from Marcus, to which the Seismitoad earned another smack to the back of the head.
The Icirrus City Gym Leader nonchalantly ran his fingers through his hair again, the looked back over at Melody. "Well, are we going or not?" he said, his tone not-so rude, but still holding a taste of disinterest. He turned on his heel and started walking towards the gate that led to Route 3, Marcus trudging along behind him. Whether Melody chose to follow or not was completely up to her. He wouldn't have minded if she did decide to go with him... so long as she kept out of his personal business.

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- Melody gave Landon a light shrug, seeming to go along with his idea. "Lydia - the other Subway Boss - may've swung by the Day-Care on Route 3, so it certainly wouldn't hurt to check." She glanced over to Cydonia, who stood next to her. "Right?"
The kung-fu chicken Blaziken nodded. 'Blaz.'
"Whenever you're ready, I suppose." She waved an arm out in front of her, inviting the Ground-typer to take the lead.

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Landon turned back and nodded. "It's possible. Might as well check it out, hm?" he said, continuing to walk towards the town's exit. Marcus waved along to Melody and Cydonia, signaling them to follow along. 'With any luck, we'll find Lydia, I'll get that Roggenrola I'm lookin' for, and we'll go on our separate ways...' he thought to himself, placing his hands in his pockets as he walked along. Marcus, on the other hand, had other ideas.... Maybe keeping these two humans together as long as possible would get his trainer out of his lonesome funk, and thus make everyone happier. The Seismitoad just grinned innocently, not yet wanting either of them to know of his plan, bouncing along with each step as they exited the city.

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Right." Nodding slightly in agreement, Melody followed the Ground-type Gym Leader, her Blaziken marching along behind her.
'Blaziken.'
As the pair walked along in silence, Melody took the time to think for a moment(or two). 'A regular conversationalist, this guy...' Quirking a thin orange eyebrow, she glanced up(yep, she's a bit on the short side) at Landon. 'I'd have more luck gettin' the time'a day from the Unova League's drunken pirate Champion than this guy...' Her bright-blue gaze shifted from the Ground-typer...
...to his Seismitoad. 'I wonder if this guy'll get along with Ilrath.' A thoughtful look graced her facial features for a moment. Whereas Landon's Vibration Pokemon seemed to be looking out for his master's welfare(to an extent, anyway...), Ilrath - Melody's own Seismitoad - was more interested in making/playing music, be it in Subway Boss battles, or simply by playing Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero with Cydonia.
But then again, one couldn't really get a good read on the personality of a pokemon...right?

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> As the group ventured out of the city and onto Route 3, Landon payed little-to-no attention to his female companion as they crossed the bridge directly out of the city's gate. He instead kept his gaze on the water, looking down at his reflection as he slowly made his way along. Marcus looked up at his trainer and sighed. He was way too antisocial for his own good. However, the blue toad soon came up with a plan to help his master out... whether he wanted it or not.
The Seismitoad stopped on the bridge, looking out into the water as if seeing something interesting. Landon paused, then walked back to where Marcus was standing. "Marcus... What are you looking at?" he said, in his usual serious tone. The Vibration Pokemon responded by jutting a stumpy finger out towards the lake, pointing at something in the water. Landon leaned forward, trying to see exactly what his Pokemon was getting at. Suddenly, Marcus "accidentally" nudged Landon's backside, sending the Ground-typer diving into the lake, knowing good and well that he couldn't swim.
Landon flailed in the water, trying to decipher between gasping for breath and swearing viciously at Marcus. Trying to hold back his giggle-fit, the Seismitoad ran up to Melody, in a fake panic showing her what was going on. He was hoping that Melody would dive in to same him, thus giving the man a reason to open up to her. Of course, whether she did that or not would determine that. Still, the Seismitoad had hopes. He bounced up and down excitedly, pointing to Landon as he flailed for the edge of the wooden walkway, still gasping for breath.

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Hm...?" Blinking in confusion, Melody glanced over her shoulder when she heard a splashing sound, and was met with the sight of Marcus - Landon's Seismitoad - looking panicked, with the afore-mentioned Ground-typer nowhere in sight. Oh wait; there he wa--
...wait; could he not swim? "Cydonia, hold this." She removed the guitar-like device that she had slung over her back, handing it to the Blaziken by its(the device's) neck. Before diving into the water to rescue Landon, she released Lighter, her shiny Volcarona - his ability would come in handy quite soon, but for an entirely different reason than its normal use.
'Blaz.'
With the affirmation from Cydonia, Melody dove into the water, swimming towards the flailing Ground-typer - she may have been on the short side, but at least the Subway Boss could swim. Quite well, actually. But that's not the point here; right now, Melody had to focus on getting Landon back to land.

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Despite being a tad larger than the Subway Boss, it didn't take too long for Melody to pull the Ground-typer back onto dry land. A few minutes later, and the two humans were sitting on the ground, soaking wet, with Melody's Volcarona using its ability to get them warm and dry. Landon continued coughing up water in between gasps for air, but eventually his breathing returned to close to normal. Shortly afterward, Landon removed the pouch from his right leg... not in an attempt to wring it out, but to hurl it as hard as humanly possible at Marcus' face, knocking the Seismitoad into the lake himself.
"YOU BIG IDIOT! YOU COULD'VE KILLED ME! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!!" he shouted, standing up and clenching his fists in a rage. The blue toad drifted back to the shore, responding to his trainer's fury with a spray of water from his mouth, and a sour expression on his face. "Keh... Gerogero~!" Landon sat back on the ground again, shaking the water that remained in his hair out. He then looked over to Melody, his pale blue eyes refusing to make contact with hers. "Uh.... T-Thanks, for... helping me there..." he said shyly. He certainly wasn't used to thanking anyone, but he also wasn't used to having his life put at risk either..

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Nice Seismitoad y'got there, Drake..." Pushing herself up to her feet, Melody proceeded to wring the remaining water from her bright-orange hair. "Assumin' you didn't catch him recently, why would he do somethin' like that?" As his master conversed with the brown-haired human, Lighter - Melody's shiny Volcarona - was using his Flame Body ability to dry the two humans, by exerting small amounts of heat from his body.
He was awfully cheerful about doing so, too. 'Vo~olcii~^^' His large wings flitted about rapidly on his back, keeping him airborne.
"And no problem." She nodded slightly. "I'm sure you would've done th'same for me, right?"

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Landon looked up at Melody as she rose to her feet. "Uh, yeah... He's a real charmer, alright..." he said, diverting his eyes to the grass around them. "Don't know why he does it, though...." The Ground-typer then pushed himself back up to his feet, patting more of his clothes dry and dusting himself off. Marcus had clambered back onto shore as well, quite enjoying the water that remained on him. As the toad approached his trainer, Landon couldn't help but bonk him on the head once more for good measure. "I guess that's just the relationship we have... He's at least a little more decent than Octavius is..."
Landon then looked back over at the Subway Boss, his eyes instinctively looking past her rather than at her. Needless to say, it wasn't everyday that he saw a good-looking gal get wet, unless they were running through Icirrus on a rainy day. The brown-haired man rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, slightly embarrassed from not only having to be saved by a girl much smaller than him, but also from the fact that such an attractive girl would save him, despite just meeting him. Then, it hit him. "Arceusdammit, Marcus... You set me up, you blue a*****e..." he thought to himself, resisting the urge to knock the Seismitoad back into the water.
Said Seismitoad took the opportunity to waddle away from his trainer, joining Cydonia off to the side. Landon always wondered why Marcus was so interested in his trainer's love life, but it always ending in pain and disappointment. Mostly pain, though. The Striaton native shrugged off any feelings, though, and returned to the conversation at hand. "Uh, y-yeah... I would've done the same, if I could swim... Can't just let someone drown, right?" he said, letting out a large sigh. "I dunno anyone that wouldn't help even a stranger... Still, thanks..."

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- "Not a problem." Melody nodded, folding her arms behind her head as she glanced around the immediate area. Something told her that Landon needed some time alone with his thoughts, but then again, she offered to help him find that final pokemon of his that he wanted. With that in mind... "So what was this pokemon you were lookin' for agian?" Cocking her head to the side slightly, she glanced up at the Ground-typer.

<=LANDON DRAKE --- ICIRRUS CITY GYM LEADER=> Landon glanced back over at Melody, an eyebrow quirked at her question. "Oh, right..." he said, pulling a crumpled piece of paper from his vest pocket. Opening it, he showed it to the Subway Boss, which had a very crude drawing of a Pokemon shaped like a bowling pin. "Roggenrola. I figured a Rock-type like this would be good for teaming up with my Ground-types. Whaduya think?" After a moment or two of letting her see it, he placed the picture back into his pocket, then ran his fingers through his hair as he stood there. He didn't quite know what to think about Melody wanting to help out, but he figured it couldn't hurt. Even so, after this 'adventure' they would most likely never see each other again. That's just the way the Ground-typer always though, anyway. It was because of that reason alone that any of Marcus' attempts to get him to like somebody always ended up in the pipes. The Gym Leader looked back down at Melody, once again refusing to make eye contact. "So, are you... ready to get moving?"

(( : Melody Rosaceae : )) -Subway Boss- -Singles line(s)- After thinking for a moment or two - mostly thanks to the (albeit crude)drawing she was shown -, Melody nodded. "Yep!" She held up a pointer finger for emphasis. "I even know a place on this Route where they're really common to find." Cydonia - taking the hint - began to head for the entrance to a nearby cave with a 'Blaziken.' "Looks like Cydonia's got the right idea." Recalling her shiny Volcarona, Melody followed the kung-fu chicken into the cave...
