People say we should not exist, It was always so interesting learning more about others. From the difference in beasts to the difference in others around him. What made him so unique that he couldn't find another one of his type? What made certain kin stronger in this world than the next? Was there something that made one kinfolk better, smarter, or more diverse than the next? And how did they all compare to him? Were there any specials, any uniques that stood out? Could someone understand the world that he lived in? Living so diverse from everyone that he had to hide his own instincts?
"We aren't alone." No. Not any more. Of course, every blood had their own curse and their own positives. However, before him, was a man that was cursed. Even though it wasn't like him, Ghost had a problem more severe than what Teiros lived with. While he put up with a nagging mind, Ghost had to live within the shadows and never breech the hot sun. While he lived with the urge to tear anything he disliked, Ghost was shy and nervous around people. As for physical problems, he had the dragon spirit within him and Ghost had a body that didn't want to stay constant. It shifted. Just by looking over this man, now that the information was out, Teiros learned a lot about his guest. It would explain so much. The cloak and the fact that he spoke from the darkness at first.
"There are a few places that I think you may enjoy traveling to." Teiros wasn't ignorant and once he learned how people acted, even if just slightly, he could read them. The shifting was growing more unstable, showing signs of nervousness. The lowered head was just like before. The voice was back to the shyness. Though it never truly left that, there was a slight amount of curiosity that had replaced the shyness if just slightly. He wanted that back. "The mountains are cold, and I've heard that the snowy lands of Kielael are just as cold but the altitude is lower. I haven't been that way just yet. However, the forest grounds are hidden from the sun by the trees. But there are some places that you shouldn't travel. The Plains and the Desert regions. I just barely walked into them, but I found the heat in them both higher than it is now."
The heat. He had been so used to it that he didn't even think of it. Placing his hand to the rock behind his back, he sighed. "Do forgive me, my friend. I have kept you past what I meant too. I do believe the sun is rising now, as we speak. The heat is already rising outside. You are very welcome to stay. I have enough room, enough food. It stays this temperature all day in here. If it gets too hot..." He stopped himself. While he was normally kind and caring, this was the first time that he actually allowed another to stay the day within his hideaway. There was a risk though. Something he would have to check if Ghost does stay. "If you have your own place that you stay in, I suggest we part ways now before the sun climbs any higher. I do not want to cause you any damage by enjoying in your company for any longer." Smooth. Just smooth. I have a different idea about that.

Reteni kept his focus on the map as the man spoke. His eyes sparkled as he explained about the mountains. They dimmed when he spoke of the desert. He could not imagine a land hotter than the one he lived in now. Such a place would be his death. When he mentioned a forest Reteni felt much of his nerves go away. For a moment he had even forgotten that Teiros was even there. Lush green forests were one of the many things he wanted to see badly. When he was in the pubs back in the town he saw many people from that region. The stories of how they looked, especially in the autumn sounded beautiful. The wastes were so dull and boring with a lack of color that he now craved it.
"I think to forest sounds nice. I wish to see the trees the most." he smiled. He was still forgetting that he was with a stranger. Or perhaps he had grown more comfortable with Teiros' presence. Whatever it was he seemed to have calmed down considerably.
When he brought up the fact the sun was rising Reteni jumped to his feet and moved to the cave opening. His nerves kicked back in full throttle. This was bad. His home was too far from here to make it in time. He would have to stay here. It was that or die. Slowly he walked back and sat down. His eyes were wide and fear was running rampant through them. "I...I have to stay here..I hope I am not...a bother" he said his voice low.

People say we should not exist, There was a lot that not even Teiros knew. He, throughout all of his years of traveling, never seen everything. What he was able to see was just the closest places of interest. The edges of the mountains, the dark parts of the forest, the hot and cool areas of the world but nothing more. He was brought back time and time again to these rocks, these rolling and ever moving sand dunes and to his home up high. He couldn't feel safe anywhere else without feeling the threat of being pulled into his dragon form with others watching. It may be a talent of his, a gift, but it was a curse. He would let no one see his true self in fear they would shun him like he shunned himself from his family.
"The trees are wonderful. Cool and green. The weather changes more so there than anywhere else that I've noticed. From greens of all shades to golds, reds, and oranges. You also have snow there." Teiros added in, trying to give imagery of what the forest was like. It was here that he felt the world changing around them. The presence of heat from the outside sand and the sun rays hitting the rocks had snuck up on him. Why was he so distracted?
"Smooth move. Now you have Ghost locking up. And you call yourself a light soul. Maybe you aren't so caring after all." Teiros felt his face changing slightly, his brows creasing. He was about to reply out loud before he shook his head. "Do forgive me. You are completely welcome here or I wouldn't of offered." "Silence. Its bad enough you are wanting to go out."
"You have not let me out for three days. I am starved for the wind, desperate for the feel of the sun on my scales."
"Deal with it, you baby."
"Baby?!"
"You are whining like a little child deprived of a toy."
"I am deprived and you don't care. Why won't you just let me out? He has a curse like us, maybe we can begin to move, to travel. He can stay under my wing, I'll keep him cool."
Teiros rubbed his head slight. During the entire conversation he had moved himself over to the meat, looking at the stock he had. Counting each piece, his movements were as if mechanical, more forced than smooth. It wasn't because of Ghost. Not in any way. It was because of the pressure that was building in his head. Codeal was becoming a child once more and he couldn't help but try to keep himself calm, cool, and collected. If he were to slip- Oh he didn't want to think about that. Not when he had company. I have a different idea about that.

When he spoke of the changing seasons he smiled. To see such a thing year after year would be lovely. The temptation to go was almost becoming unbearable. He even was having the temptation to ask to join Teiros but he did not wish to be a bother so he kept that question inside.
When it seemed Teiros had gone quiet Reteni found himself a bit confused. Cocking his head to one side he found himself trying to figure out what was going on. It seemed as thought Teiros was struggling with something. Was it something he had done? Then he wondered if he was planning to leave him when he saw him counting what he had as far as meat.
It didn't take long for Reteni to feel the heat from the outside start to warm the inside slightly. The rocks to his back were even warming slightly. Although it was by a small percentage, his severely sensitive skin could still detect it. "I..forgive me for this" he said softly then he slowly removed the light robe and scarf. Once off he felt much better. The light wispy fabric that was his usual clothes were cool and helped his body breath. It was still only early morning though. He knew he'd have to move farther back (if possible) in this makeshift cave if he were to stay cool.

People say we should not exist, There was a small shortage in the meat balance compared to what he liked having. Five pieces out of fifteen were gone, have been eaten. Three the night before and two since the last time that he brought down a kill near here. Higher up, where Codeal could regularly sunbath in the early mornings like now, is where he kept the rest of the meat. Where he spent his time, he had enough meat to last. Fresh and jerky. The fresh was better in his opinion but he wasn't about to take Ghost up there. Not when the sun was already rising and Ghost couldn't handle the heat nor the sun. Even though up the mountain was a much better hideaway compared to this. Much like a home in the rocks. Natural, unlike this one.
His fingers hooked two pieces of meat before grabbing a third and splitting the third in half once again. His eyes were a bit hazy, thanks to having his attention inside of his head instead of outside of it. Once Ghost spoke, he blinked. "Get yourself comfortable. I do not mind. It will heat only about five more degrees in here, but I recommend you stay away from the rocks. I cannot keep them cool, but the way the rocks are formed will keep us nice and cool." Teiros stated, finally turning.
Walking back over to where he was sitting, he looked up at the exit, judging something before looking back down. "Here. Sorry I cannot offer something more.. of a breakfast meal. I only know how to make meats." Teiros stated a bit sadly. After all of the times watching his family cook, and having lessons himself, he could only remember the ways of making meats. I have a different idea about that.

Reteni was relieved to hear the temperature would not climb up much further. At least he would be able to survive in here. This lock down was also a perfect test for him. If Teiros did nothing then Reteni felt he could trust him. If even a little bit. Any trust for his kind was amazing and should be accepted if the opportunity arose. He listened closely when he instructed him to stay away from the rocks that formed the wall. At that he scooted inwards a bit more.
A smile formed and he shook his head as he took the meat,"I do not mind. It is delicious and I do not eat this much back where I live" he said, his voice still light but not as shy. He bit onto the piece and riped at it with great energy. The flavours were magnificent and he just could not let them be passed up.
When he finished he sat down with his legs to the side and looked around. He was still interested in the maps but at the moment they seemed a bit boring. And besides he didn't want to raise his hopes of ever leaving by looking through them again. After a long and incredibly awkward pause he spoke again," So what do you usually do here during the day?" he questioned him with a smile and shining curious eyes.

People say we should not exist, It was rare for Teiros to be staying still like this, especially with someone he didn't know. Family habits taught him how to live not only alone if he had to but with people he didn't know. It wouldn't be the first time that he bunked down with strangers. Groups like his often times met with another out in areas like this. Of course trust was hard back then, no one really trusting each other. It was like this time now. He didn't know Ghost very well and neither did Ghost know him. Yet both were in a small area within each other's danger zones. There was one rule of his family though. 'Don't attack or make a violent move unless the other did so first.' That was the rule he would live by now.
"Thank you for the compliment." He was curious though on why Ghost's homeland didn't eat much, but maybe their kind didn't need too due to the fact they live in cooler regions. Tearing into his own piece, he kept himself hushed from asking too many questions. It was written on his face though, no matter how hard he tried. It was like Ghost's interest in his maps and the places that he's been. He was certain that if Ghost understood what was before him, he would be asking questions as well. Such a strange combination between a human and a beast.
Teiros, while munching on his piece slowly, was tracing a map with his clean finger. Zoning slightly, it took a bit to notice that Ghost had lost his interest in the maps for a bit. Turning his head to look over Ghost, kindly and making sure not to stare, he swallowed before opening his mouth to answer. He shut it with a slight cough, before thinking of what he was about to say. Teiros couldn't say that he talked to a beast within his head or that he could fly and turn into something much like a monster. Instead he looked down at his maps before smiling. "Travel, explore and simply move. I'm a nomad of sorts, but I return back here, to the desert. Its like my home in a sense. Just... It doesn't feel like home. I'm rarely caught just sitting around. But it feels good to relax now and then.
I have a different idea about that.

Sairaith||+||Gunslinger||+||Height: 6'8”||+||Weight: 190lbs||+||Age:29||+||Hair:Red||+||Eyes: Blue||+|| Heaven hath no rage like love turned to hatred....||+||Theme: Shoot To Kill ||+||Battle theme: Dragon Rider||+|| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sairaith stumbled as she was practically thrown into the Wastes. She lost her footing for a second on the loose rock of the dead clay ground, but managed to catch her balance before she fell. She winced as she jarred her ribs, but forced herself to rise up to her full height. The pain was starting to dull. Either that or she was just getting used to the constant state of pain she was in. She would have to be careful and cross her fingers that they wouldn’t get into any fights. A sudden stench hit her and she had to fight the urge to vomit. It smelled something like brimstone and burning flesh and was all together very unpleasant. She pulled a black bandana from a pocket inside her duster and tied it so that it covered her nose and mouth. It didn’t completely eliminate the smell, but it dulled it down enough that she didn’t feel the urge to be sick. She hated the Wastes. She hated how dead it looked, and where it didn’t look dead it looked mutated. Sairaith wasn’t particularly religious, but every time she entered the Wastes she always felt the need to give a little prayer to whatever gods were listening and whenever she imaged hell this was it. The Wastelands was the center of Saegareth and was made up of plainland, snowland, forest, waterland, mountain and desert. The land itself appeared to be dead, but somehow life managed to thrive here. Sairaith would never be able to understand how anyone could want to live here. The whole place reeked of death and unnaturalness. But she was on a mission for the king, she would put up with it somehow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Tabarias LucepharosHeight: 8'5'' || Weight: 425 lbs || Lightmaster || King of Sol Solis "I'll do whatever it takes..." Tabarias' transition to the Wastes was a fair bit smoother than Sairaith's had been, but that was only because he knew exactly what the place would be like. For her it was an unnatural place that cried out against her senses - for him, it was familiar, it was old news, it was....home. His eyes swept across the landscape immediately around the pair, taking in their surroundings as he figured out where the portal was in relation to the places that he had known. His initial travel to Sol Solis, years ago, had been completely on foot and not by the incredibly useful portal system, so there wasn't much here that he knew.
His blue eyes scanned the area around them, taking in the decaying landscape, the mutations that appeared to run rampant everywhere. That old, familiar smell of some unknown material, the decay that filled the air, barely fazed the Lightmaster as he steadied himself. His gaze turned to Sairaith and saw the disgust that she couldn't hide - it was the same disgust that everyone who wasn't born in these lands held when they looked upon them. He was lucky that she wasn't looking at him to see his eyes roll in exasperation before he shook his head and stepped forward beside her. The armor-clad man swept his hands up behind his back and looked around vaguely as he spoke to her.
"Alright then Miss Sairaith. You mentioned we were heading to a fortress, do you know the way or will we need to get a guide?" The name that she had given when she was reporting in the Healer's Temple was one that was slightly familiar - he had probably run across it at some point while he was researching, but when she - no, he was not going to think on that time ever again. Maybe it was familiar because it was here in these lands that he had been born and grown up?

She suddenly realized that she knew where they were going, but not how they were going to get there. The only time she’d ever been through the Wastelands was when she’d escaped from the men who tried to turn her into a harem girl. Even then she hadn’t been paying attention to where she was going, only on getting as far away from where she’d been as possible. “ M’sorry, Sai, I ‘ave nae an idea ‘ow to get where we’re meant tae be going.” She looked down and away from the king, hoping he wouldn’t be too angry with her. “ Tae be ‘onest, Sai, I dunnae much about the wastes.” She placed a hand against the black bandana, pressing it closer to her nose. She was slowly getting used to the small, but every so often the hellish smell of sulfur assaulted her sense of smell. She suppressed a sudden flood of memories the smell brought back. The worst one she couldn’t suppress. It was of the hours when she was convinced she was long dead and being tormented in hell. Sairaith brought herself out of the reverie with a sharp shiver. She pulled her duster closer to her narrow frame, hoping to disguise the shiver as one of cold and not horror. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Tabarias LucepharosHeight: 8'5'' || Weight: 425 lbs || Lightmaster || King of Sol Solis "I'll do whatever it takes..." Tabarias pondered this for a long moment his head tilting to one side and then the other as he considered this statement. Then he shrugged slightly, dismissing her concern. He had seen her shiver, but he attributed it to the smell in the air - people who weren't used to the heavy odor tended to react negatively to it. The armored man placed one gauntleted hand on her shoulder and gave it a comforting squeeze then stepped away, judging where they were, looking around for any landmarks that he recognized.
"That is not a problem then young one. I have an idea of where we are, and it should not be too hard to find a suitable guide to get to our destination." The tall and thin man rolled his shoulders and gestured for her to follow him. The Lightmaster had finally located a suitable landmark, and knew how to get to one of the towns that dotted the Wastes. He had not been to this place in years, so hopefully no one would recognize him. After all of his changes it was highly unlikely, but there was always a chance for someone to recognize his gait or something. With that in mind he armored up his head again, leaving his eyes showing as he looked back at Sairaith, a flicker of concern crossing his eyes - this place was a hard one for someone who wasn't used to it. He quickly tossed her a leather water bottle before turning sharply on his heel and heading off in one direction, seemingly at random.
