they do not show up until a certain part of the game that is just they way it is... but they are in a little bunker far up into the upper left hand corner... but the door is closed till you get to a certain part of the game.

No. Not unless it goes back to being a top down isometric RPG with a world map.

Sure go back to a dated format that doesn't work well at all on modern operating systems and turns the game into a simple shoot and stand gameplay. With the same story that has been changed just slightly from a vault to a village and trade mutants for enclave. Take out all the fun and exploration that Fallout 3 and New Vegas has for do the story missions and not play again after you beat the forgettable re used story.

Lol.Fallout 3 had a terrible storyline as well, (but some very memorable moments that define Fallout) and refused the Enclave and Super Mutants (which were still fun to fight) and BoS, and yet changed them to be utterly silly.

I want a turned based isometric game like van-buren would have been. Massive world map, towns of towns and all would have been unique, and the gameplay would be massively revamped. it would get old if they hadn't changed the system up. But, of course todays gamers refuse to play any older rpgs because "DA GRAPHIX R BAD AND ITS SLOW" or even return to top down type games, they want shootin and explosions. I hate pulling the whiny old things were better in the past argument, but do you people seriously think old=bad? Seriously?

And, FO 1 and 2 both had side quests. There was no real exploration because it was old. This is 99-98 were talking about. People couldn't make fancy games that had huge detailed worlds that stretched for miles. But, it didn't matter to them. The games were still fun.

I have no real love for the originals. Even for there time they were buggy and short, but the writing and quests were fun. Playing as a low int tribal slaver and heading to New Reno to star in a porno. Good times. It's very easy to roleplay in the older ones, people often did. I started with FO3, i love Bethesda for reviving the series. But, to dismiss the older games is insane. Vehicles would simply not work on such a small world map. Why do I want a return to old if I loved the modern games more? Because, I want a bigger world, a better world, a world that is fully functional and living. With factions, with choices that will effect others. FO3 had it to a limited extent, and FONV tried it, but, most the choices didn't jive with me.

I'm tired of RPGs becoming dumber (i hate this term, but, tis true. Few RPGs remain. Bethesda is the last hope) I want to see new RPGs that aren't shooters like Mass Effect (again, absolutely adore mass effect). We need more games like Diablo, or Planescape, or Baldurs gate. But game developers have become stupid and refuse to take chances anymore. They absolutely have to get those COD fans on board for some bizarre reason. Skyrim has dumbed down a ton of features and yet in many ways it absolutely triumphs Oblivion. Why? Oblivion was horribly bland and boring. Like daggerfall only without the nudity and dirty language. Skyrim is unique, it's like Morrowind. Skyrim is something we haven't seen often, a norse fantasy world with Dragons and Giants and vikings. Plus everyone looks better. The graphics...everything. Argh...Skyrim can't come soon enough.

What I want to see in a new Fallout game is Bethesda and Obsidian together. Bethesda has terrible writers for anything but TES, and Obsidian can't make a game playable if their lives depended on it. But together they would make something unimaginable. Combine the atmosphere of Fallout 3 with the writing and factions of New Vegas...my god it'd be perfect. The perfect game...I could live with that.

This is something I have been saying for YEARS!!! Bethesda seriously needs to get rid of the chimps in their writing department and hire some real talent. The Black Isle people have proven time and again that they can make games with stories that stick with you.
Obsidian's big problem is that they are a small (yet capable) studio that always takes on WAY more than they can handle. They are far more talented than most of the "big boys" but yet simply don't have the staff to put out a game in a timely fashion to be in the "big leagues" which is where they still try to play. Considering WHAT they are able to put out in the small timeframes that they have been given, I always cut them slack. That small studio was able to make a much larger and deeper RP game in New Vegas in 2 years than Bethesda did in 6 w/ FO3. Bethesda's staff is almost 10X larger... If you have ever programed anything like New Vegas, its easy to see that they did way more work in MUCH less time. I would seriously not be surprised if many on the staff were hospitalized from exhaustion during the development period...
