Do you smoke before work or school?
  Yes, all the time.

  I wouldn't have a job if I went stoned.

this is what we call irresponsible use of marijuana. A responsible person would realize that there are certain times when, unbearable or not, you just plain should not smoke
You could easily get expelled from school or get fired from you job. Athletes could be kicked off of sports teams, and certainly out of the olympics. Responsible use of marijuana is very important, and anyone who cannot use it responsibly should not be using it

I got through college stoned and I stand by that. Maybe smoking helps you learn better or work better. Going to work or school stoned is a risk I am willing to take if I think it will help me do it better.

the only reason it could help would be based on the psychological, or whatever the right word is, theory that says if you learn something in one state of mind then it will be easiest to recall that information in the same state of mind

In my latest job (I am now a full time Mom), I would never smoke before or during. But often I had to after just to get a few minutes of calm. Then again I was in a special situation in my last job because I was a small business owner, so I was my boss and everyone else's boss. With my beliefs (and traces of marijuana often in my blood) I knew that I would never ask employees to get tested (I was tested once for bus driving and was told 3 weeks in advance. That was enough time to get clean, but I drank an internet cleansing beverage that morning too). Now if people can't do their jobs (high or not) I give them a time limit to clean up their act and then fire them if they can't get with it.

There was one time though, when things were starting out and I had just fired someone and someone else had quit and just couldn't handle the stress at all. So I smoked enough to calm down right before we had a staff meeting. My husband was there which was helpful, but I was so out of it that I had to let someone else lead the meeting and I told people that I kept forgetting things and being half asleep because of some "strong medicine" I had taken to help with my anxiety. It was pretty much true. But there would have been no way I could have trusted myself taking care of kids (oh I forgot to tell you it was a summer camp and afterschool program) even my own daughter in that state.

Then I will be stoned more often. No problem there, you don't have to twist my arm.

I never did, but I worked at Wal-Mart and the Nursing Home.

1) Wal-mart managers down here and smart about that kind of thing. They would notice, no matter what.

2) The Nursing Home isn't the best place to be high....I had to carry food and interact with a lot of people with a clear head.

Lol but it could be a bad stoner sitcom if you did get high at the nursing home.

Heh...Why am I all of a sudden reminded of that stoner grandma?

On a totally unrelated note, my cousin just painted the downstairs suite of her new house "blueberry bud". We all had a good laugh about that.

Frankly, there are very few jobs where being stoned wouldn't cause problems. I can smoke before doing manual labour, such as mowing lawns (although I never did it when I was mowing lawns for my grandparent's rental properties) without any problem, btu I would never even consider smoking if I had a job which involved any sort of public relations.

I wouldn't do it regularly. Thats too ******** would consider getting ever so slightly stoned then go to school.
But it is risky. And people might notice.

For my summer job.. there was no way i could work stoned. I was a lifeguard at a kiddie pool.

And right now, I do paperwork for my dad and he doesn't give a ******** class="clear">

So do you smoke to enhance your work experience?

Nah... having good music on enhances my work experience.

When I worked as a lifeguard all they played was garbage... I would have loved to be stoned then, but I would have lost the job really fast.

If you're a bus driver or something that requires cognitive ability and responsibility.. No way. If you're a cashier at Wal-Mart or some other kind of mindless job.. Sure. As one of the characters says in the movie Boys Don't Cry.. "You don't have to be sober to weigh spinach."

I go to class stoned sometimes, for the mindless classes I hate that my college requires, like Intro to Music. rolleyes
