HISTORY: Out of the clouds that make Elysia rose a race named the Daikurian; the Winged Ones, and with them the War-Gods became real. Living a life of war and evolution, the Daikurian have tried to mix their blood with the Aiyalma in too many ways. As a result, the Fomori came into existance and were "baptized" - enslaved - as the Guardian of this glorious land.
As time passed, the Fomori evolved into true warring guardians. Their magic reached less far, but allowed them to return to life whenever their ashes was spread in Elysia. But it is when a first Dimension Gate opened - actually, they were the once who opened it - the Fomori and Daikurian proved their worth against the denizens of the Umbral. For decades, and even today, the Elysian races fight in an attempt to take over the Umbral and spread their glory over the wastelands of the Umbral.
Since taking over the Umbral didn't go as well as planned, the Daikurian decided to open a second Dimension Gate. This gate allowed passage into Skogran, but the warlike Daikurian, expecting resistance from other races, weren't prepared to fight the entire land of Skogran...
ENVIRONMENT: No wings, no life. Elysia is made out of a cloudlike substance from the moment you set foot in it and will continue to be one clouded environment wherever you go. This is why all the races of Elysia have wings and outsiders haven't succeeded in exploring Elysia yet. Luckily, the magic of Elysia has made sure that some clouds have become solid enough to allow rest - those places are filled with houses and sacred shrines (made by Aiyalma) by now and have become cities as population grew. With the 'clouds' floating about everywhere, Elysia's cities are always moving around, however.
The clouds are a soft blue of colour, but where one of the three suns shine, the clouds change to a rainbow of pastel colours. Should you ever 'fall into' Elysia, then you will endlessly fall down until you die. The depth of Elysia is unknown, but it is believed that somewhere far below a white giant feathered snake eats anything that is flying too low.
POPULATIONDaikurian make 60% of the population. The Fomori have grown to take about 30% of the population, with the remaining % left to Aiyalma and animals.
Daikurian despise their Hybrids. If it isn't a true blood, it's a disgrace to their honour. It only deserves to die, or to be forgotten. In other words, a hybrid living in Elysia is one with a death wish.
If they live outside Elysia, they don't care about them. They're good there. Actually, a Daikurian hybrid might be respected more if it lives with another race, as it is easy to consider it as a total non-Daikurian that way.
Fomori don't care about hybrids. They aren't exactly hostile towards hybrid Fomori, but If the hybrid die, they die. If the hybrid are able to revive the same way as all Fomori, then it isn't considered a hybrid. The hybrid is then considered a Fomori, and treated like one.
SOCIETYElysia's society is one of continued political wars. Each of the Houses wishes to attain the most renown, the most respect and the most influence, all using their own means while yet sticking to the basic value of honour and tradition.
By default, honour and tradition, the Daikurian are the highest in status. Only a true blood Daikurian is able to be seated in the Council and rule over the cloudy land of Elysia. Of course, no Daikurian rules alone. Behind him, his House overlooks his deeds, advicing him and if needed, replacing him.
Under the Daikurian, come the Fomori. While a Fomori will never have a seat in the Council, no Daikurian is mad enough to deny a Fomori's request without at least considering it - a Fomori's combat abilities and magic often exceeds those of a single Daikurian.
At last, quite 'outside' the whole society fluff, are the Aiyalma. These entities, believed to be part of Elysia itself, aren't really taken in the society. They aren't ignored either. Daikurian are quite unsure on how to handle them, but treat them with respect.
DIMENSION GATES:There is a Gate leading to the Umbral. A true war zone, it is the place to be when Daikurian wish to gather honour for their House.
Another Gate leads to Skogran, but the dangerous world of Skogran has made sure no explorers from Elysia returned.
