Chris looked around the room when Tony did, wondering if he was really thinking about using the room as a meeting area. It could work... it lacked a lot of security, but as long as they didn't leave anything of importance there, it should be okay, right...?
"Well, I can't imagine having to send up smoke signals whenever we need help," he told him, thinking about what they could do. It would be much too convenient to have something, like, a walkie-talkie or two-way-radio when they powered up instead of, like, a lame compass. "Things disappear when we power up, don't they? Like... I no longer have my wallet with me..." he said, trying to think of what they could do.
"If we had some kind of cell phone... or a Bluetooth or some kind of earpiece... headset... thing... to use and not have to hold with our hands... Would it be possible to put it down somewhere, power up, and then pick it up to put it on?" he wondered, knowing it would be a lot easier to work with if they didn't have to use their hands. "If it's too obvious we have a piece of technology with us, we can just... disguise them as part of our... uh... costumes," he said slowly, although now he didn't know how to feel about having a piece of fur up against his face to hide the phone.

Tony looked keen on the idea, nodding his head.
"I like that. If we organize it so we meet up here, or at least everyone has access, we can give everyone a radio or something like it. They can keep them with them, but put them aside when they power up. I think that should work. Not too cumbersome, nothing traceable if lost, though I wonder how expensive that might be."
He rubbed the back of his neck. He made good enough money for his own existence, but he didn't have much expendable income now that he had his son who used Tony's money however he saw fit.
He nodded.
"I think we'll just have to see. I've never actually had a reason to say this to anyone before, but I think we need to shop around. Take a look at what's out there in... uh... specialty shops and things like that. We might find something useful. I mean, if you don't mind. I can look, or we can look separately, and compare notes."

"If we had separate phone lines, we can just cut off the one if it's picked up. That shouldn't be a problem," Chris said, trying to think about his own cell phone plan. "I just don't think it would be very safe to mix our two lives together too much. For safety reasons, I mean. And I don't want to explain to my parents why someone was calling for Valhalla to return my phone if I ever lost it..." he said with a frown, not thinking that would go over well at all. And it could put his parents in danger.
"Don't worry about the expense," he said, shaking his head at the librarian. "If I'm going to do this, you can count on me the entire way. I have money for college I never used since I got a scholarship." It had been nice of his parents to save up money for him to go to whatever college he could have wanted to attend, but since he got the scholarship to DCU, he had an entire account to just... save until he graduated. It wasn't as though he spent a lot on himself, anyway. He had what he needed and that's what mattered.
"What were you thinking of...? Like... what should we look for?" Chris wondered, curious about what Tony had in mind. "But yeah, I'm up for anything. I don't mind at all." If he did, then he would have left already.

"I agree," he nodded his head, knowing well how important it was to keep identities secret. "It's best to keep your two identities as far from one another as possible. People you care about could be in danger if they find out, and it's probably a good idea to just keep it to yourself if you can."
Said the man who has given his identity to more senshi and knights then he could remember.
But he was also very paranoid about people figuring out who he was. Yes there was a strange magic involved to keep him safe but how could he rely on it? He was the librarian that had been obsessed with Arthurian legend and helping senshi, and now he was a knight named Camelot who (stupidly) patrolled each night starting from the library.
Subtlety was lost on him, perhaps.
"Oh, I could never ask you to pay for it, honestly. That would be too much. I'll.. help? I mean, I can afford something. Though, congratulations on the scholarship." He chuckled. "You should spend some of that on yourself. Or save it for... a car? An apartment?"
He didn't know what Chris's arrangement was now, but the dad in him said 'saving for important life things' was important. Even though this Knight thing was very much a part of their lives now. And very important.
"Well, I mean, just look for any time of phone or headset or radio that might be useful. And by looking I mean... I need to... because I have no idea." He sighed.

"I'm not offering," Chris said with a small frown, though he wasn't angry or anything close to that. He just didn't want Tony to worry about things like that. He was just a librarian, after all. He couldn't possibly be paid all that well.
"I'll take care of whatever we need to get. If we get it on the same plan, under only one name... which will probably have to be my name, since I'll be footing the bill... then that'll keep everyone's identities secret. And I swear I'll take yours to the grave with me. No one will ever know," he promised, the tone of his voice serious.
"If you want me to find a few different kinds and print out examples for you to see, I can do that," he offered, not minding at all. "But if you'd rather see for yourself, then we could go to a store and look." It didn't really matter to him. Besides, he didn't have anything to do with his money. He already had a car, and his apartment his grandparents bought. An 'investment' they said, for when his younger brother needed to go to college, if he chose to go to one in the city.
"I could meet you here when you're not working and we can go and look, if you want? Sometime this week?" The sooner, the better, really. "How many knights have you already met...? I'll look online for prices tonight..."

Tony looked surprised but thankful by the response. He really didn't like taking someone else's money, but Chris was on the right track. He was paid well for his position, but he had expenses that used most of that income. He had just moved from his apartment to a bigger town house, and had a dog and rebellious teenager to keep track of.
It wasn't like Nate worked or had any interest in supporting himself.
"Wouldn't that leave you tracable? Is there a way to do it without a name on it? Or through a business, or something... fake. Something we can monitor but none of us will be in any risk of being found."
He didn't know how the phone plans worked, really. He had just gotten his phone and gone with the basic plan. All he needed to do was make phone calls.
"It might be easier to print them out, I suppose. I don't need to see them in person. I'm always here, so it's not hard to find me."
At the last question he looked thoughtful.
"How many... well, not that many, to be honest. A few more, enough to make me think this group is possible. Apparently we're fairly new, in general, so there aren't as many of us as there are senshi and the negaverse."

Eh, it wasn't as though he was going to be doing anything with the money he didn't need. He'd thought about putting it towards a trip to Germany when Daniel went back to visit, but that wasn't really anything essencial.
"Probably... I'll talk to my older brother to see if he knows anyone that can help," he said, before quickly explaining, "He doesn't ask many questions and I won't tell him anything, I promise. He just... might know if there was anything I could do to get around needing a social security number." If he used a fake one, he would just have to make sure it wouldn't put them in danger... and he would prefer not to be in trouble with the government, but since he was kind of this... strange superhero of sorts now... he had to prioritize...
"Okay, that sounds fine with me," Chris agreed, not minding printing things out at all. "I'll do that and bring them back here tomorrow so you can look over, okay? And if there's not a lot of us, then that's good... I'll only look into plans for maybe five for now," he told him, not wanting Tony to worry about more than he had to. Besides... Chris liked being able to help. It made him feel useful and actually worthwhile to others.
He stood from his chair then, reaching out with his hand to shake the librarian's. "I should get these books checked out and get on that, then. It was nice talking to you again, Mr. Darrow," he said with a small nod. "And thank you for including me in this... I wouldn't know what to do, otherwise."

Tony nodded his head. It seemed to all be falling into place. He couldn't help but feel a childish thrill of excitement, thinking about the future, planning things. It was all very new to him, to finally be able to stop imagining a better life for those he cared about and actually try to make it for them.
It was an impossibly large task, but step by step, day by day, they would work toward a solution.
Peace.
"Alright, just be careful. We won't do it if we can't find a way to do so without compromising anyone's identity. Even in a small way. Any risk to you or other team members is unacceptable." On that he could put his foot down, if only because his one priority in life was keeping people safe, and these knights were certainly more than just anyone.
They now came first, and he had already decided that he would protect them with his life if he had to. Dying in a battle or for anything other than true peace was not his idea of bravery. He wanted to live to be able to allow everyone else to do so, to protect those that could not protect themselves, but his Knights would always come first now.
Considering he had no doubt that most of them would be younger than him, he would be hard pressed to avoid the urge to play parent.
Shaking Chris's hand heartily, he nodded.
"It's a plan. And thank you for offering to help me. I can already see that you will be an invaluable asset, and I really appreciate your joining me. Now, let's get to the front desk." Back to business as usual, checking some books out for a patron. He moved to the door and let Chris out of the room, locking it again behind them before heading back down to the front desk.
