I stood for a moment, looking up at the monster...it's head must have been as big as myself...or bigger...it's neck was as thick as a large tree trunk, and it's wings spanned out at least thirty feet.

I was almost having second thoughts about fighting this thing, but before I could do anything it was already charging at me.

It's huge arm was flying through the air, aimed at me...and I did the only thing I could think of.

I dropped into a defense position, and held my sword out so the point of it would touch the monster first.

Amazingly, it worked. I could here it roaring in pain, and it shot off a ball of fire from it's mouth...I followed it with my eyes, and stood in awe as it engulfed the van, the soldiers were all out of it, and most of them were frozen with fear at the attack came closer.

"Run! get away from the blast!" I yelled knowing what would happen, but most of them were too busy staring to here me.

I was thrown off my feet as the blast exploded, turning the van into nothing more than a heap of metal, and sending bodies everywhere.

I coughed, and sat back up, rubbing my eyes, then I look and seen Sephiroth charging at the monster in rage.

I swept at him, but he only countered, cutting off half of the arm. It screeched in both pain and anger, and went to bite at him, but he only slashed it across it's face, ripping across it's right eye.

It threw it's head back in pain, and Sephiroth took that change to run under it.

I watched in amazement, as he pointed the sword upward, and thrust it into the monster's body.

A loud grunt was heard from it, and it staggered for a moment.

"Come on kid, let's get out of here..." He said, running toward me.

I realized that if I didn't move it would fall right on top of me. I opened my mouth to yell, but nothing would come, and I quickly tried to get to my feet, but I kept stumbling back down as I tried to run.

All of a sudden i was jerked from the ground, and being swiftly moved toward the treeline.

I watched the ground start to rumble, then even Sephiroth was thrown off his feet.

Once the dust cleared, I looked back, and found myself looking into the dead monster's mouth.

"AHH!" I was truly shooken up, my mind was scrambling for something to do, but no matter how hard I tried to focus, nothing would come.

"Ugly devil aint it." I look up and seen the look of disgust in his face, then he turned and started looking for survivors from the blast

I had been walking in the heavy rain for a day...my feet were tired, and the solodiers were starting to complain.

"...But I am a member of SOLDIER..." I kept repeating in my mind...I was trained for circumstances like these, so I couldn't even think about complaining...although I wanted to.

As far as the fighting went...all we had to fight was fatigue...after that last monster there was nothing else that had tried to attack us so far...but no matter how much I ignored it...I always felt like there was something watching us...

"We stop for rest here...but don't get comfortable..." Sephiroth said, half-turning his head back, then walking to the cliff overhang that wasn't too far away from the resting spot.

"I wanted so bad to sit down, but I knew that I couldn't. right now I was the only one Sephiroth could really count on...as both of us knew that the shinra soldiers couldn't do anything more but complain, stare, and shoot their little guns.

I walked up next to the taller man, and looked over the canyon.

"We're almost there...if we can get down this cliff...we'll only be a few hours walk away from the town..." He said, lowering the binoculars from his eyes.

"...I forgot to thank you...for back there..." I said quietly, knowing he would understand.

"Hey..." He slapped my shoulder. "We're war buddies aint we!? it's our job to look out for eachother..." He cracked a small smile, then looked back out over the canyon.

I walked back to the soldiers. "Get up, we're moving." I ordered, recieving grunts and groans...but all of them knew not to disobey anyone from SOLDIER...

Aeris stop and watched zack go back into the shadow for where he came from....."Fine just leave me then.I'll be fine waking home by my self!!!"......aeris was i little ticked off at him .....but she never could be mad at any body she was always sooo forgiving...She turned around the other way and started to walk home .

"...Are we there yet...?"

"...Me feet hurt..."

"...If we don't stop soon....I'm gonna die..."

I had to listen to that plus more as we walked along the cliffside, hoping to find a way down.

"...Can we please stop?" I had had enough, I was tired of these men begging to stop, and complaining every step of the way.

"If all of you don't shut up, I will make sure you will never work for Shinra again!" I yelled, knowing none of them would give up their rank, job, and the pay.

"S-sorry..." One man said, and the rest shut their mouths.

"Cloud...look..." Sephiroth stopped, and pointed at a slope going down...it was very steep, but with a little work, we could get down.

"...What are we waiting for?" I asked, walking ahead.

sure." takes her arm and walks with her.

((we know it won't work but for a dash of romance)) "I won't" kisses her.

(ouch tht hurtin lol ...jk))...she kisses him bak.she looks up at him...she smiles lightly "Well..we are here" she looked at her house and looked bak at zack....."good night".

Cid was in the skies and highly enjoying the experience. He always did look forward to the next time he would be able fly. To him, flying was just like freedom... It was what was on his mind when he was awake, it was what he dreamed about when he was asleep, it was who he was as a person. It gave him his living, his job, his passion and strong will. It gave him courage, strength and everything a man needed to feel proud of, to be apart of.
His plane, the Tiny Bronco, approched closer to Migar. Soon, he landed on one of the ShinRA runways. He put his pack on, and retrieved his weapon. He took his cigar out of his mouth and crushed it under his boot. A bunch of officials then greeted him, and led him into the building...

-15 minutes later...-

ShinRA himself stood behind his desk to greet him. Cid approached the him and shook the old man's hand.

"So... Cid, my boy. What do you need?" Shinra asked.
Although he already knew, Cid guessed that Shinra wanted to get everything straightened out so that they both knew what they were getting into.
"Well..." started Cid, "I'm looking for someone to fund my researching and construction to build a rocket."
"You came to the right place... ShinRA Co... Rather, I am willing to invest in any type of project... As long as I see potential." he said as he lit a Cigar. He then offered a box of fine ones to Cid.
"Don't mind if I do." said Cid as he took one and lit it.
"This is very important that you understand Mr. Highwind. Do you have the kind of potential that I can invest in?" he leaned forward and asked.
"Old man, flying has been my dream ever since I layed my eyes on the skies. When I accomplished that, I looked even further and saw the moon. Now, flying further is my goal. It's what I live for. Hell, I'm going to REACH that piece of rock in the sky if it's the last thing i'm going to do!" said Cid without a trace of doubt in his voice. He slammed his fist down on the table.
Shinra leaned back on his chair and let a few puffs of smoke escape his mouth. A few moments passed in thought as the man searched Cid's face for any fault.
"Very well Mr. Highwind." he said as he took out a couple of documents from his desk drawer. "I too will share your dream, and help you accomplish it. From what I can tell, a man like you has a will of steel. Just sign these papers, and you will be able to access whatever you need." he said with a smile. Cid smiled as well and picked up the pen.
"I won't let you down old man. I'll make ShinRA famous for space travel, and it'll be thanks to you." he said, and then he signed the papers.
"Excellent." said Shinra. "By the way... We have a scientist set to go back with you and log your daily activities and progression on this project."
"What? Log my daily activities and progression?" Cid asked.
"I think it's time you meet her. SHERA!" shouted the man.
A woman in a white lab coat entered the room with 2 security guards carrying her suit cases.
"Shera, this is Cid. Cid, this is Shera. Shera will be your new assistant." he said.
stare "She better not interfere with my work." stated Cid.
Shinra laughed, "On the contrary, she'll be there to help you too. She's one of our top scientist that knows a lot about the stuff you need in a rocket to make it blast off. Well... I have an appointment to go to in a few minutes. Shera will send me monthly reports on how you do. Feel free to explore Migar, as I suspect it is your first time here." he said as he left.
A few moments passed in silence as Cid decided what to do next in Migar. Shera approched Cid.
"Hello there." she said extending a hand, "I'm glad to be apart of the team Mr. Highwind."
"Please... Call me Cid."
"Alright... Cid. I'm sure that we'll make a great team and accomplish-"
"Just save it. I'm going down to the sectors to drink and celebrate." he said.
"Alright then... I suggest you go down to sector 6. They've got a whole wallmarket there full of-"
"Ok, thanks." said Cid as he started walking off with his copy of the contract.
"I'll come too. I can show-"
"Forget it. Just go say your good-byes now and pack your stuff in my plane. I'll be there in a few hours." he said as the doors closed behind him.
