Clover raised a slim brow at his expression, understanding what was going on practically on the spot. He'd run out of yen to play Street Fighter. He really hadn't changed much in the past three years, she figured, judging from his response. He poked her forehead, which made her let out a small giggle, swatting at his hand playfully before she clasped the behind her back. "Well," she began, thinking back to how it started. "I've been looking for a job is one thing. And lately," she hesitated, casting her eyes on the floor of the arcade. All traces of her smile had vanished. "... Um, just... things have come up." Shaking her head, she smiled brightly at Excal and rocked back on her feet. That took a lot of skill, considering she was wearing high heels. "I've missed a bit of school here and there, but no worries! I'm still doing good! And silly. I'm in class 3-D. Of course you wouldn't be able to see me as often as we used to." She looked up at his hand that was still tapping her forehead, then leaned back before pretending to bite at it. She wouldn't actually purposefully bite him, it was just getting a little annoying.

Suddenly, a light force against her legs caught her off guard. She looked down and saw it was a little boy, who was calling her mommy. Cute, though rather weird, considering that she'd never had a kid, and also never dated a guy... Or got knocked up. When he realized his mistake, she squatted down to his level and smiled apologetically. "No, sorry." She was about to continue when she realized who it was that accompanied the boy. "Kedamono-san?" she managed, perplexed. Slowly she stood, and then yet another voice had joined them. She smiled at the reunion of the mother and her son, though it was a bit sad and nostalgic. She tried to decline the money, but to no avail. At last, the duo had left, and the pinkette was left with two classmates. She turned to face them, playing with a strand of hair absently. "Yup! That's us. And gee, Kedemono-san, that was awfully sweet of you, helping out that little boy." She giggled behind her hand, briefly wondering how this all started before dismissing the thought. What happened, happened.

"Need a hug? I don't bite..."
-----------------------------------------------------
Takeshi blushed a deep red and shrugged his shoulders sheepishly when she mentioned how helping the boy was a sweet thing to do. "Well... what can I say? The little guy brought out the big brother instinct in me, he was just too... well, cute too not help. I was just walking along and I bumped into him, of coursed he cried for a bit, and he told me he got seperated from his mom, so I couldn't help but help him." Letting out a grizzly sigh he put both of his hands behind his head. "So what brings the two of you here? Or wait... am I intruding on a... date?" Wondered Takeshi outloud, but in a silly enough tone to show that he was only joking. Takeshi got ready to avoid a playful slap if there were any sent at him, then a moment he stood in thought and his eyes lit up like fireworks the next second. "Ohhh ohh guys I have a great idea! With the money we got let's go to the restaurant on the beachside or something!"

Excal Eiri, The b*****d Son of Beethoven

It was like a brief moment in memory lane for Excal, which came back to his first meeting of Clover. Was just about three years ago when he was starting out in highschool and they were out doing one of those sport festival gigs, and Excal was in the storage room considering this to be a good place to hide to weasel on out of the running marathon event. It was up to Clover to try and locate him, seeing how he couldn’t have gotten far she would check the storage room. As the knob was slowly turning Excal acted quickly with a rope, a chair, something to hang the rope on the ceiling, and a few other things to hide in the chair from sight; once she opened the door Clover found Excal hanging from the rope tied around his neck in a noose. Of course he didn’t actually hanged himself seeing as he was just standing on the chair, but to Clover it looked like a suicide, in reponse she fainted right there on the spot. Maybe he over did it with his trick, but he was in a really bad situation; as soon as he manage to get off of his little rouse he went over to the woman to see if she was alright, and that was when the teacher came by which lead to a misunderstanding which also led to Excal being into a whole mess of trouble . That was how those two met for the first time of their lives, he didn’t know if she had truly forgiven him for that over the years, but really he didn’t care much since the end result forming some type of friendship after that. By the way her smile disappear and gave him a very vague answer made Excal feel that she was trying to avoid the question, he quirk a brow feeling as if he needed to press on to get the truth. But instea she gave him a more logical reason on why she hasn’t made time to see him, “3-D? Oooh! You’re in the old dusty woman’s class? God you are one lucky girl….I’m in 3-E ….where the teacher straps us to huge tire wheels and has us run 10 km while sitting on the tire like he’s some gladiator riding a chariot.” Course most of that was a lie, except the 10 km part that was pretty much a natural fact for all of those who were placed in that Slave Driver’s class. The thought of it made Excal slump his head down, looking like a PDST soldier remembering the horrors of the war. “There is nothing that can explain the suffering we face in there….Anyways!” immediately he raised his head back up showing to be unusually cheerful as always. He couldn’t forget on why she came by in the first place, to give him some money! Taking her yen Excal’s heart rushed with excited beats, finally he could go back to his little game and kick a bunch of little kids butts in Street Fighter; anyone can say what they want but showing the little runts whose boss in video games always brings this accomplished feeling. He was going to ask Clover to come join him in a session of badassery, that was interrupted by a kid walking up to her and calling her…mom. “…… ….. ….. Holy Crap YOU’RE A MOTHER?!” This time Excal’s mouth dropped as he jumped back in shocked. It really had been a long time for her to be impregnated by a person, she was already married?! Or…just, no no that’s a horrible thing to think about! “Hey if that’s your kid, can I be his godfather?” he asked casually. It was meant to be a joke of course; part of his defense mechanisms when tackling on something so serious and startling was to just pop out a joke here and there to get his mind straight.

His heart felt like to was going to explode with the shocking news, he wanted to know who the father was, and if there wasn’t he wanted to know where he is so he could convince him to take responsibility! Alas, all of this was cleared up as this very muscular figure came by and pointed him in the right direction of finding his mother, so the kid was lost and now he was found by a worried mother. Excal chuckled out in joy as the two were reunited again, surprisingly the mother believed that he along with Clover and Asian chuck Norris found him for her and paid awesomely. He was going to protest but seeing how it came up to 4000 yen Excal shut his trap. This was enough to by manga! Cooking Magazines! New Plushies!! He stuffed the cash into his pockets with high hopes, thanking the gods for taking mercy on him in his head. His attention was now turned to the buffed man who started to approach the two, Excal looked up him weirdly trying to figure out who he was…kinda familiar. “ And you are….Superman? No, no too Asian. Maybe…the incredible Hulk?! No…no not green enough..” he pondered more on the subject of who this guy was, but nothing came up, he really didn’t know who he was. Thankfully Clover gave out the name of this mysterious bear size man, with that grateful information Excal went with the flow and tried to be friendly like she was. “Kendamono! How is it going, long time no see, I see your doing well, how’s the family? “

The pinkette shrugged, not quite understand why he was all... dramatic about his homeroom teacher. She'd heard complaints here and there about the guy, but it really couldn't be that horrible, could it? She shook her head, stifling a giggle. What a funny guy. He earned himself a dull gaze when he freaked about her being a mother, which had left her momentarily speechless. Could he not see how confused she was? She chose to ignore him, instead noting the other senior's blush at her teasing. He was a pretty modest guy, wasn't he? She smiled lightly, laughing at his playful assumption. "Eiri-san and I? No~ Just catching up," she answered honestly, even though she had a billion and one other ways to respond to that jab.

At the taller boy's suggestion, Clover hummed thoughtfully. "I dunno. I might have to go soon. I want to go check on my brother." She smiled, though it was hard to place. Friendly? Apologetic? Fake? "Though, maybe we could have a round of air hockey instead?" she asked in an excited tone, jumping at the idea. "Or ping pong, or a fighting game?" the teen offered, clapping with joy. Those were all fun, and wouldn't take too long. Before she could make any more suggestions, she pulled a pink flip phone out of her back, the charms jingling together as she checked it. It wasn't too late, thankfully, and no missed calls. So she was safe for a little bit before she'd have to go home. She pocketed her phone and waited on what the boys thought.

"Need a hug? I don't bite..."

Takeshi raised an amused eyebrow as Eiri started giving him names,
Asian superman? Incredible hulk?
Takeshi scratched the back of his head when Eiri finnaly got his name right and asked him strange questions, "Oh yeah, family's going all right and stuff..."

Takeshi furrowed his brows as he thought about his younger brothers in Oshu city, hopefully they'd call him soon, they always did every week, but oddly enough they haven't called for two weeks. But he brushed the cloudy thought away and put his attention back to Clover and Eiri.

Takeshi displayed some dissapoitment when Clover said she had to leave soon, right when they all had a nice reunion together! "Alright, I'm up for a any fighting game and a bit of ping pong! What about you Eiri?"

Maybe they could do a bit of Street Fighter, and he always kicks a** with Chun Li! And he wasn't bad at all at ping pong, with a big body as his it was hard for the ball to pass by him. The thought made him smile in confidence he he awaited for Eiri's response.

Yamato Imagawa
::Heir to the Imagawa Clan::

Yamato's eyes swung to the side when the young ace captain heard the first of a slurry of thinly veiled insults and threats. 'Former captain,' Yamato's anger was building as the conversation went on. Threats on his status as captain and this new comer even had the audacity to call himself the new captain of the team. Saito eh... Yamato thought to himself, he knew he had heard the name before. Suddenly the name hit him, the young ace was so well learned in his clan's history and the history of other clans from the sengoku era it was surprising that it had taken him more than a second. Yamato turned himself, and his large white whale prize, towards Shinpachi. The ace's lips were set in a firm line, he was mostly unimpressed by this Saito fellow, people had tried to take his position before and they hadn't succeeded either. Yamato waited for this challenger to finish his little speech before he retaliated. "Well Saito... was it?" Yamato said with just the slightest condescension in his voice."First off I think you should know that you aren't the first and I am sure you won't be the last to try and take my position as Captain." The silverette took a soft smooth breath before continuing onwards his eyes flicking over to Haruto to make sure he wasn't leaving without him. "Secondly why don't you run along Saito, because you know maybe your inferior little mind hadn't even considered the fact that I came here, in lieu of going to practice today. Which wouldn't have worked on a single one of my pitches I may add because I came to try to recruit the person who hit that one ball off me." Yamato turned away from the usurper and turned towards the direction that his new friend had walked off in. He didn't even turn to give the other transfer student another look. He wasn't even worth it, he came all the way out here just to try and get under Yamato's skin; trying to take Yamato's job, he was nothing new just another challenger to the imagawa throne and the new head would not fall to them.

The silver haired heir sad slid into the booth next to Noelle and across from Haruto. Yamato took care not to sit too close to the pinkette who very easily could have taken it the wrong way if he got too close. Yamato eyed the waitress cautiously, this place was so below his level he was nervous about eating here. "Just a bowl of rice for me." Yamato said smoothly hoping that ordering something as simple as rice wouldn't be too hard for the chef to get together. Turning his attention back to Haruto, Yamato listened intently to the conversation between he and the pinkette. He felt a little strange for intruding but it would have been even weirder if the silverette suddenly disappeared... well maybe it would be a welcome weird. It was then that Haruto brought up something that caught Yamato's ear. Oshu city? Those guys... Oshu city was, of course, the infamous rivals but their baseball team was even more despicable than one may have expected. Yamato looked back to Haruto with a questioning look on his face. "You didn't play baseball at Oshu did you?" Yamato wondered if that was how the transfer student had gotten a hit off him...maybe they had dueled once before.

"Your maturity certainly seems appropriate for someone with the Imagawa name."
Saito stated matter-of-factly, having long ago heard of the upstart Imagawa Clan who had opposed their Saito clan in the past. Although they were merely a name from history books, they had been known to act pompous and look down their noses at others, and though it was a bit hasty to compare ancestors from the past to someone in the present day, there was certainly an arrogance in Yamato that anyone could probably notice. Instead of falling to his taunts however, Saito was calm enough to merely nod when Yamato boasted again, deciding to curb the impetuous declarations with a relaxed reply of his own. "I will accept your challenge any time that you wish to test your abilities. Pitchers are constantly in need of competition to improve their skills, I would not want the team to suffer because you refused to practice with someone of greater enough skill.." Unlike Yamato though, Saito had only come to find the person the team was searching for to deliver the message, and fortune itself had been the only factor leading to the unpleasant first meeting; but he didn't have the intention of intruding on the obvious date any further, since he had some class. With another bow, Shin moved to the booth nearby, taking a seat on his own with a pair of members of the baseball team, both of whom were more than a little stunned from what had happened just now, but who also wanted to get to know the new guy better. Yamato might not have been at practice to know about it, but the rest certainly had a first day to talk about, and as such the transfer student had already been introduced to a few interested friends instead.

Oho? Well, he was fast with his responses, she give him that. A challenging eyebrow arched as she listened to the joke about coming to school for the beach volleyball team, the girl leaning in as eyes narrowed slightly. “You do know there’s a volleyball inside my bag, don’t you?” The girl taunted with a smirk, following up with the joking tone as she patted the bag meaningfully. The pinkette leaned back on her seat once again, a light chuckle escaping her lips shaking her head slightly. “I’m only kidding.” Mostly. But leaving jokes aside, she listened to the real answer to her question, her head tilting curiously as he mentioned the reasons. Wait… “Bored with school? Aren’t all schools all the sa-“ Aaah. Well, that made sense. …Somewhat. Oshu was really different from Iwadate, she could agree with that. And Oshu, bah…the school there and more specifically the volleyball team really made her life impossible. … …“Oshu you say? Now that’s interesting. Noelle answered with an amused smile. “Ha! Well, it’s good you decided to move here. Shikokidan is way better.” The girl continued with a wink. Another, more honest chuckle escaped her lips then, blue eyes shifting to look at the sea from the window. “Well, Iwadate is a really nice place. The beach, the people…the volleyball team…” A sly smile. “I hope you like it in here.”

Her gaze returned to Haruto a moment later, the drinks being set in the table. She thanked the waiter, before reaching out for her milkshake, her pale hands wrapping around the tall glass. Idly two fingers took the straw, bringing it close to her lips, before taking a sip. Oh, so sweet. It was at that time that her face brightened in complete delight that day, but it was gone as quick as it had come, before her attention was set back to her companion, and the question he was about to ask. Sure, it was fair: she asked a question, got an answer, and not it was his turn to question her. She guessed it reasonable for him to know more about her. “Sure, go ahead,” Noelle chirped, eyes going back to her beverage. It was sooo good. Though, her attention was completely taken away from the strawberry milkshake when he began complimenting her hairdo. “Hm? … Thanks!” She blinked, if only a little confused about the comment (and not a question). And he would have probably noticed her puzzled look, because it wasn’t long before he began explaining himself and finally letting out a question she hadn’t been expecting. Not everyone asked her about her natural hair color…No wait. She lied. Yeah, many did. But! The point was, that she hadn’t been expecting it right now. “Oh, this?” the girl muttered lightly, twirling a lock of hair on a finger. “Yeah, actually I am.” she chuckled with a little shrug, feeling slightly…and just sliiiightly, flustered. “Surprised?”

Though, she couldn’t have listened to his answer, for at that moment, the dispute between the two baseball players ended (a little tense, yes), and the silver haired pitcher joined them in the table. Noelle looked at the Imagawa and the huge whale plush he carried, her eyebrows raising questioningly, before returning to her milkshake once again. “So… is everything alright?” the girl asked, gazing at Yamato from the corner of her eye. “And…what’s up with the huge whale?”

~Haruto Mashiba, Mysterious Transfer Student~
(Location: Iwadate Boardwalk, Shimabukuro's Boardwalk Restaurant and Tavern)

User ImageHe could be forgiven if he still had a little post-traumatic issue with the volleyball Noelle suggested that she had ready in her bag if he got a little bit too cute with her; fortunately, it hadn't left that type of a scar on him (unlike most who felt the ball's fury) since things had turned out quite well for him in the aftermath of his brain-shaking encounter with Wilson-san. Thus, while he didn't exactly flinch at her little quip and the way that she patted the bag with a faux-menacing countenance about her, he took the warning for what it was worth...a sign not to push his luck or do anything that might be too out of line with the girl. Of course, he hadn't been intending to do anything he saw as untoward in the first place, but a careful reminder never hurt anybody, he supposed. ...And if nothing else, it gave him a bit of a laugh when she tossed his own comment back at him a moment later, musing over all the reasons why he might find Shirokidan High (and Iwadate by extension) a more interesting home for school than he had found Oshu City. It was true...the sands, the beach, the fact that everything here felt as much like a summer getaway as it did a place to go to school. He supposed all that would change as soon as classes got into a swing, but hey...a beachfront town like this couldn't be all bad, even if you were going to school there, right? "I'm sure I will," he commented lazily, glancing out the window as she gave him something of an unofficial welcome, wishing that he would like it while he was here in the coastal tourist center. His lips curled mysteriously as he watched the distant waves, glancing back out of the corner of his eye at his companion before adding, "if nothing else, the view is much improved." All right, yeah, that was a bit cheesy and he knew that, but he couldn't say that it wasn't true, either. Whether it was the beaches, the clear blue sky, the low line of buildings and the peaceful walk of the boardwalk, or simply the present company...it was all much more beautiful than he was used to in his old school, his old town, his old acquaintances. Behind that enigmatic smirk of his, it seemed, there was indeed some genuine appreciation...but whether or not she would pick up on that was fairly hard to tell.

In the meantime, Haruto couldn't help but delight in the surprise with which he had managed to take his current companion; Noelle was a pretty cool customer for the most part, keeping that casual facade of hers up along with that candy-coated charm which she used to get the things that she wanted. Having managed to provoke a real, lightly-flustered response in her with his sudden compliment and subsequent question only lifted the corner of his lips a little bit further, his mirthful eyes dancing with recognition that he had actually managed to get somewhere with that one. He didn't seem like he intended to push or tease her about it, though...that would be rude by any measure, and he didn't want to be that. For one, the whole thing was just in fun and so he could learn a bit more about her, meaning that anything that actually made her uncomfortable was only good in so much as it remained at the 'flustered' stage, never reaching the 'troubled' stage. For two...well, she did say she still had a volleyball in that bag of hers, didn't she? He wasn't sure his dainty little skin would forgive him if he gave her reason to crush him with that again. Hey, he was a delicate guy! Or maybe he wasn't...who knew? The point was that he simply raised his eyebrow in an interested fashion, listened to her confirm to him that her hair was indeed this color naturally. Again, his cobalt eyes seemed fairly pleased by this revelation...and just as her attention flitted away to the heir of the Imagawa Clan she might have heard his simple response that was not so much an answer to her question as it was a simple response...id taking over his subconscious to let the word slip out. Or maybe he had intended for her to hear them all along. "Pretty..."

And in a moment, by the she might have registered what he said, it was gone. His mind was already mulling over Yamato's question as he slid into the seat next to him. What was taking the umeboshi so long, anyway? Probably still steaming the rice, he reasoned as he lolled his head to one side, affording the baseball team's Ace an adequate portion of his attention. "No, I didn't," he answered honestly, remembering the Oshu City Baseball Club with a rather distasteful frown briefly crossing his face, "they weren't really...my type of people." He didn't bother explaining beyond that, because it really wasn't worth the trouble. He couldn't say that they were necessarily bad people, but they hadn't been the type of people he wanted to hang out with, either. Baseball Club in Oshu hadn't been all that fun, nor had the Seniors been all too receptive of newbies on their squad. Haruto hadn't tried out, but he had seen them...and he had seen all he needed to know. And having said that, the give-and-take of questioning continued. Yamato had asked him something, now it was time to return the favor. Only fair, right? And as he offered a good-natured wave to the Saito...who seemed to be not quite ill-tempered, but perhaps a bit unaware of how abrasive he was acting...he considered what it was that he would like to ask.

"Forget that. And tell me...is there someone you like?" Haruto asked with a conspiratorial smirk tossed at the girl across from him, as if opening a window for her to jump in with him and lighten the air between the trio. Even if Yamato said there wasn't, the small smile on Haruto's lips would be enough to hint that this was mostly just a joke. But hey, couldn't fault a guy for trying...and if Noelle got into it too, maybe they could get him to confess something. It was all in good fun, right?

???

It was a fairly normal day in Iwadate. People were bustling around the tourist-y Boardwalk area, a place famed for access to glittering beaches, trinkets made of inexpensiveness and plastic, photo albums of the local beach volleyball team (frequently sold out), and... ah, yes, the general wonders of coastal life. The pervasive smell of seafood in the air, often freshly caught and cooked, the milling crowds, the swimsuits of people going to or from the beach, the- "Thief!" -occasional criminal spotted by a shopkeeper, dashing madly down the Boardwalk with loot in their hands, seeking to evade pursuers. Part of the problem with rich, tourist-y areas was that to maintain the tourist-friendly image, the mom-and-pop shacks, and all of that sort of thing, it could be hard to have nicer security systems. Which meant, sadly, that you occasionally got a thief who wanted to prey on the tourists and get their money, and people could but try their best to make their way after the crowd. However, as the runner made his way to a closer area, the sounds of a guitar being played could be heard, and a moment later, had someone been approaching, they would have been treated to one of Iwadate's more... interesting sights. Rocking out in the middle of the street was a girl wearing red ribbons and a white, frilly dress, music blasting from speakers held up by nigh-transparent plastics to give the illusion that they floated beside her. At this point, most sensible people would either turn and walk away or look for a hat to throw some money into, or at least stand and watch for a bit, because the girl was clearly having the time of her life, even though her guitar playing wasn't really all that good. On the bright side, the blasting music mostly covered up her own playing. And she was singing along, too, even as she rocked. In English. Good English, too, suggesting it might even be her primary language. <"Rage and fear from skies above the fire fuels my veins. Destruction of humanity the everlasting flame! Cast away no turning back from long forgotten shores! We'll show no mercy as they fall. The fire burns inside now prepare for war!"> By now, the thief on the run had gotten quite close to the girl, and she turned and simply hurled her guitar towards a bystander and reached up to click off the speakers. "Hold that!" she called, this time in fluent Japanese, before running straight towards the thief (and showing a rather impressive degree of athleticism on her part by how fast she moved). The thief almost had the time to realize that this ribboned, frilly girl was charging straight at him when she leapt into the air and her foot crashed into his face. She landed on the ground a moment before he did, but she was the only one on her feet, and she calmly held out her hand to catch the wallet that the thief had lost his grip on as it came back down. The wallet, not being a very obliging container of money, hit the ground six inches out from where her hand was. Scowling, the girl bent down and snatched it up, but smiled again as the tourists who owned it caught up and she handed it back to them with a smile. "Remember this, villain!" the girl said (loudly), pointing down at the dazed man with the imprint of her shoe showing on his face. "I have no name to give you except Justice..." she posed triumphantly. "And wherever in this city you do crime, Justice will find you!" She posed for a moment more, then grabbed a small smokebomb, threw it down to create a cover, and ran off, pausing only to grab her guitar as she went.

Yup. Just another day in Iwadate. Crazy girls and everything. The frilly girl did this kind of thing on a regular basis, though this was probably the first time she'd actually been playing a theme song through more than just the speakers she wore...

[6/15] After School -> [6/15] Evening

[Location: Iwadate Boardwalk and Shirokidan Dormitory Complex, Iwadate Coastal Village]

Time marches forward in Iwadate and the club hours for Shirokidan High School have come to an end! Students continue to become acquainted with one another and learn a little more about the motivations of the newest member of their school, but while new members of the student body come and go, the town continues on as it always has. Tourists wander the beaches as night falls, the boardwalk and the stores, and of course, many visit the Tsukuyomi Shrine beneath the light of the moon. The local news speaks of a rash of recent calls to law enforcement over disturbing the peace and assault charges near the shrine, but no suspects have yet been identified or captured. Many of the locals are curious, and nervous, about what might be taking place down on the sands in the South end of town. But for most of the visitors, they continue their stay none-the-wiser.

Time moves on for Haruto and his friends on the Boardwalk, and before they know it, the sun has dipped beneath the crystal-clear waters and given rise to the dark of night. He must now return to the dormitory and become acquainted with his new abode...and his new housemates.

It is now Evening.

Al Azif

"Today was a great day for the forces of good! I caught two robbers, helped half a dozen elderly citizens across the road, picked up trash at one of the parks, and helped advertise for the shopping district's daily special!" Al poked her fork into her chicken and carefully cut with one of her knives. Unlike in many households, her own had never quite adopted the custom of eating solely with Japanese utensils... it was more their style to eat with the utensils of whatever ethnicity their food was, and today, as was often the case, Al had a European-style meal to go through. Hence the knife and fork, which were quite natural in her hands. Once she'd pulled a piece of meat from her meal and put it in her mouth, the girl quietly chewed, listening to the gentle mood music being played through her portable speakers. Though portable was more a matter of ability than reality, since they were currently plugged into the wall to recharge. Still, it didn't take long for her to swallow. "One of the people I helped offered me a reward, but a true warrior of justice will never accept money for doing good. Oh, but yesterday's episode of Phoenix Ranger Featherman Ultra-EX told me that things like food are okay. It is important to remember that civilians sometimes do wish to express their thanks and will be more upset if you don't take it, and learning to determine when accepting a reward is all right and when it isn't is a very important task." the girl continued to chatter away cheerfully as she ate her meal, a wide smile on her face with the satisfaction of a day's work well-done.

Al Azif

Al narrowed her eyes as she looked at her target. Nearly fifteen feet off the ground, the girl was carefully balanced on the limbs of a tree, staring at a cat that had managed to climb up quite far. And, in fairly typical cat style, failed to get down. No matter! In darkness or day, whether close or away, justice would be there to help! The girl eyed the branches above her, then jumped up and grabbed hold of one of them before pulling herself and staring at the cat. It yawned at her, apparently not concerned in the least. Well, that was cats for you. "Let's get you down from there." Al said firmly, reaching out. The animal was just a bit too far away, though, and the girl reached over to grab onto the branch the animal was on, pulling herself closer to it. Which was about as far as she got before gravity took over, and the branch cracked, then broke straight off. One of Al's arms swept out to grab te startled (and madly clawing) cat; the other grabbed onto one of the branches on the way down, and there the girl hung, about ten feet off the ground. "Don't worry! I'm fine!" the girl called down, though her clothes had already gotten a bit torn. She'd need to go home and change into a new pair after this, and carefully brought her arm over and nudged the cat onto her shoulders. Not being a very obliging animal, it was quite happy to dig its claws into her skin, and the girl winced even as she grabbed onto the branch with her freed hand and carefully pulled herself up. The cat hopped off of her as soon as it could, and Al moved the rest of the way onto the branch before grabbing the cat and, this time, dropping out of the tree entirely and landing on the ground. "Here you go, ma'am. Please keep a better eye on your pet in the future so he doesn't get into more trouble!" the girl said with a smile as she delivered the animal. A great, if painful and bad on clothes, way to start the morning! Mm-hmm!

~The Dying Artist~

The light of the tender morning sun shined down on the light blue hair of the dying artist. Shikaku had spent the still dark hours of the morning on the train one suitcase and an easel. Back in his dorm at Oshu city there was a sizable painting of the skyline: as counterpoint to his work from last night Shikaku had made the early trek over to Iwadate in hopes that he could paint a more pastoral image, and while the Oshu botanical gardens were all good and fine Shikaku found that a few too many of his paintings had been done in that place. So he decided that he would make it out to Shirokidan in the hours when the sunlight was still not harsh and paint the coast line.

Walking out onto the boardwalk an almost serene look washed over Shikaku's face. While A similar look could be found on the blue haired artist's face whenever he was about to paint the look today was...different. There were two competing reasons for why this place created such a happy look. In the spirit of artistic advancement Shikaku had researched his opponents at recent art competitions and he had found out that the only girl who consistently came close to beating him was a young woman who submitted her artwork from the Shirokidan school. The second reason was that of late Shikaku was feeling more and more satisfied by his work and he could feel that, the more he painted, the closer he came to creating a true masterpiece. Reaching a spot towards the rail of the boardwalk which looked out over the waves lapping against the shore Shikaku put down his suitcase and set up his easel. Grabbing the canvas from his suitcase he placed it on the easel then crouched back down and grabbed a bunch of paint tubes from the side pockets and a special small palette that he had bought for when he hadn't had a lot of bag space on location. Squeezing a small dollop of paint of each color onto the palette and then grabbed a brush from his bag. The dying painter's eyes took in the scene and got to work.

....

Nina snapped back to reality, hearing the people around, hearing the steps... hearing the voices. She frowned to herself, looking down at the bag as if she just discovered it being in her hand. The whole trip from school to the Boardwalk was actually pretty foggy to the point that she didn't remember herself getting here. Almost as if she was on auto pilot... getting along with the usual routine that it just becomes something that's pretty much subconscious. Nina tapped her headphones, it was the music that caught her attention, one of the very few songs that she got on her ipod that wasn't too loud or crazed... but actually soft. Leisurely... Something that was going on with the flow even if the lyrics were something akin to a conversation between God and his next creation. It was ... a little strange though, almost sounded as if he was making a sandwich. Nina rubbed her head before she sighed some, letting the words going through her ears as she shifted her gaze over towards the horizon of the beach. What... was this nostalgic feeling? She furrowed her brows, clearing her throat before she kept on walking. "By the way, " he sang... "There's just one more thing, should I add "tears" as an option? Even without it, there is no impediment, but some people don't add it because it's a pain. What will you do?" Nina tilted her head as the soft guitar strummed, waiting on the Creation's answer The girl of Black and White continued on down the boardwalk with her hand digging into the bag, wanting to take out that new sketchbook of hers along with the new pencils as the Creation answered the Maker's question. "And then, I asked a for it...So that I can become, so I may become a kind person rather than a strong person." The girl lifted her head, the music still playing with lyrics catching her attention. "So that I understand what "importance" is..."

... What was it about this song? When did she put this in her ipod anyway? Well... with all the rock and metal, the punk and alternative shoved into the device, it's no surprise that a soft tuned piece of music and lyric is going to turn up in a rather rare moment, despite the song coming from one of her most favored bands. To understand what importance is... If you cry, you understand importance.. what were these strings being tugged all of a sudden? What was this all about? The organ behind her breast continued to beat, aching suddenly, wanting to hear more. Yes.. please ask... please answer.... Nina suddenly frowned, her breathing starting to quicken suddenly when a rush came back. It was that build up.. yes.. this music..."So, by the way, as for the flavor of the tears...choose a flavor you like! They're sour, salty, hot, sweet, choose any one you like. Which one do you want? ....Which one do you want?" Nina's mind was silent. But then suddenly she felt her chest burst when the calm, and soft strums suddenly exploded into nothing but a raw energy. Everything rushing, everything loud, everything bursting and all the while colorful. Yes! This song! "Has everything been granted the way you hoped? So show me your face that is always crying! Well, show me proudly! Oh ohhhhhh~!!" The way such energy felt, it was like a feeling of everything spinning around, ideas, emotions, everything just flying around her.. She had to draw. She had to cry, she had to keep a hold of this feeling as the guitar settled back tot hat calm strum, the energy strong but settling itself down.

"Thank you very much, Sorry to have troubled you with so much. May I ask just one last thing?" Red eyes suddenly lifted... her eyes still at the beach shore but there was something there... something... unfamiliar that caught her attention. ...Who was that? "...Have we met somewhere before?"
