The sin eater could be the soul in a doll. Dolls don't die so the soul wouldn't either. The sin eater would last as long as the doll.

I've been on Google translate. I don't have any specific words in mind. At the moment I'm just trying to find a word that sounds similar to its English counterpart. Interestingly enough, nightmare becomes albtraum. Alptraum is what Alps do at night to give people nightmares.

Is there anything else about her features people should know, such as things other characters would be able to see that aren't shown in her picture? If not, you're good to go.

I guess. The description I read it in had a witch whose husband was unfaithful. She put his soul into a thing (forgets what) in a preservation jar when she turned him into her sin eater. She would then cut her toenails too short so they bled and deliberately injured herself so he would feel it. The sin eater could still talk and they still had a relationship, however odd.

I'm thinking that the alp once haunted someone who knew to invite him over for coffee. They became friends and he'd come back early each morning for more coffee (in his opinion she made the best coffee ever). She grew older and eventually got sick. When she died the alp became vengeful and haunted the doctor who "made" her die (his opinion). The doctor developed sleep apnea because of nightmares about the woman the alp created. The doctor became tired at work, only did night shifts, became alcoholic and ended up being fired. Occasionally during the doctor's life the alp would run around the house as a white mouse to taunt the doctor. The alp continued to haunt the doctor until he ended up blowing his brains out.
