I wouldn't use Hidden Power, even if I was paid $100 per battle. rofl

Tbh, I'd just use Low Attack/High Damage Moves.
Hence the ability "Technician". ;D

lol ur just weird whee
Not every pokémon has the ability Technician.
HP can get a boost from Technician, too, though...HP does have a power that ranges from 30-70. o:
Yeah, true.

But keep in mind, HP is only for Special Sweepers.
It's not for Attack Sweepers.
Well, Technician doesn't differentiate between physical and special moves.
Though I think all of the pokémon that have that ability are more Atk sweepers...(except the ones who can have it in Dream World).

I may have calculated HP for my Aerodactyl, but I would NEVER have her use HP. sweatdrop
Oh no, I was referring HP as a Special Attack, and not a Physical Attack. sweatdrop

And yeah, Aerodactyl will never be a Special Sweeper. gonk

♥ | ...I know...that's why I said Technician doesn't differentiate between physical and special moves. As long as HP's power is 60 or less, Technician will give it a 1.5x bonus (I think).
I know HP is a special move...well, except in Gen. II-III, where "special" or "physical" was purely based on type. Then it could be either. | ♥

yeah i ha someone tell me the best time to find out is at lvl 50 that way you dont have to keep training to lvl 100 if you dont like it

♥ | I think that is well said. By the time I get done EV training, most of my pokémon are Lvl 40+. Just train to Lvl 50, and it should be simple for any calculator to calculate IVs. (I just calculated my IVs for my Typhlosion [Lvl 50]; I ended up only needing two rows of stats [Lvl 50 and 51] and his HP type before it gave me his every IV. I just used a Rare Candy and reset.) | ♥

hmm my foretress sucks lol

♥ | Lol. Only train a new one if you want to. I would only bother if I knew for sure that I could get one with a couple of good IVs and a good nature (by breeding most likely).

This might be helpful:

If you go to the Johto Battle Frontier, at the Battle Tower by the PC box there is a man who will judge the potential of your pokémon. This is based off IVs. He will say one of the following based on the sum of your pokémon's IVs.

If the IVs add up to be __ he will say...
0-90 Decent
91-120 Above Average
121-150 Relatively Superior
151-186 Outstanding

He will also tell you which of your pokémon's stats has the most potential. This is your pokémon's highest IV. He will say one of the following phrases depending on its value:

0-15 Rather decent
16-25 Very good
26-30 Fantastic
31 Can't be better

Consult this page, and you can be able to figure out your pokémon's highest IV value, even at Lvl 1 (unless he says Very good or Rather decent--- then the stat has at least two possible values).

I usually aim to get at least relatively superior pokémon myself, but I breed the IVs the way I want them. xD | ♥

Lol. I only have one pokémon at Lvl 100. My Mew. ‾^‾ Got it there a couple of weeks ago. heart

Breeding IVs can get complicated, but only after a certain point...you really need these items:

Power Weight
Power Bracer
Power Belt
Power Lens
Power Band
Power Anklet

If you make a pokémon hold one of these items and put it in the daycare with another pokémon of the opposite gender in the same egg-group (or a Ditto), the offspring will always inherit the correlating IV of the pokémon holding the item. You can only put these items on one pokémon at a time, though.

Power Weight will pass down the HP IV; Power Bracer will pass down the Atk IV; Power Belt will pass down the Def IV; Power Lens will pass down the Sp. Atk IV; Power Band will pass down the Sp. Def IV; and Power Anklet will pass down the Speed IV.

For instance:

I put my male Metapod (holding Power Bracer) in the daycare with my Impish female Heracross (holding Everstone). Metapod has an IV of 31 in Atk. All the Heracrosses that I have hatched have an IV of 31 in Atk, and half of them have an Impish nature. c:

It gets more complicated when you want to pass down two or three IVs. >c> | ♥

♥ | It could be what game you're on, or it could just be probability. Female pokémon were the only ones with a 50% chance passing on nature by holding an Everstone before HG/SS. In HG/SS both genders can pass nature on.

Since it is only a 50% chance, you could just be having bad luck. ‾^‾ | ♥
