She nodded and buckled her pauldrons back into place. She liked Redraline; prefering his company over the other soldiers because he shared her belief in action over words. Opening a portal, she gestured for him to follow and led him through to Twilight Town.

Grabbing his axe, Redraline followed her through into the swirling darkness. It creeped him out everytime, but it was faster than walking.

A portal of darkness appears in the middle of the room and Redraline steps out, doing a full body shudder like usual.

Ailill followed him, not blinking as the portal closed with a soft gust of air. Her mind was on the locket and she took it from the pouch carefully. She brought it up to eye level and stared at it, watching it reflect what little light the torches gave off.

Walking over to a worktable carved into the wall Redraline leaned his axe against the wall and pulled a specially built chair from under the table. Sitting down he removed his armor, a piece at time, revealing a black shirt and brown pant, setting the armor on a set of shelves next to the table. Streching he then sat back down in the chair and pulled out the bag from around his next, carefull emptying the conents onto the table. In all he had the vial of blood, his small knife in its sheath, and the three books he had taken from the library.

She left the room and returned a few moments later clad in a dark lapis tank top and blank leggings, her falchions still at her sides. She sat down in a nearby chair; it wasn't comfortable at all but she found she didn't particularly care as she dangled the locket above her head. After contemplating it for a moment she turned to look at her companion. "Did you find anything of interest on our little trip?"

Moving aside a bit so Ailill could see the table, Redraline held up the vial of blood and examined it while he spoke."Other than that blood, I found a library and grabbed a few of the smaller books. I haven't taken the time to look at them yet though." Setting the vial down he picked up one of the books. It was black with a gold border and binding. Opening it he found what appeared to be a research journal.

"Would you like some help?" she asked, tucking the locket into a pocket. She knew a little of scientific work when she had been ensconced in the basement of her creator's lab; fiddling with the various pieces of quipment to try and ease her boredom.

Redraline thought for a moment about what needed to be done before answering."If you don't mind, I need a sample of this blood analyzed. I want to know more about the energy in it. I'll start on these books." As he finished he grabbed the vial and held it out to her as he moved aside to allow access to the equipment on the table.

Taking the vial, she studied it for a moment. "I'll start with the centrifuge; try and seperate the blood from whatever else this. We can run an analysis on whatever splits apart." She stepped over to a switch a few feet down and pressed it, stepping back as the wall opened and table extended loaded down with various beakers, microscopes and other equipment.

Redraline nodded, thinking it a good place to start."Just don't use it all, I want some put up for later, in case I remember some technique that's not commonly used anymore." As he finished speaking he began studying the book more closely, trying to decipher the shorthand used.

Nodding once, she took an eye dropper and withdrew a small portion of the blood; leaving the majority in the tube and placing it carefully out of the way. Placing it in the centrifuge she watched, head tilted to the side, as the centrifuge spun rapidly and seperated the red blood from a strange, greenish fluid. "Insteresting...." She murmured softly as she took the new vial of green fluid. Placing a small drop onto a slide she slid it under the microscope for further study.

Redraline took out a notebook and a pen and began writing down short-hand and possible meanings. "I hate trying to figure other peoples work out..." He mumbled under his breath as he scribbled out notes.

She spent several minutes adjusting the microscope, frowning in concentration, before pulling away and staring incredulously at the slide. "Redraline," she called out to him, sounding faintly uncertain. "Come look at this and tell me what you make of it."

Setting aside both books, Redraline walked over and stood on a stool to look into the microscope. What he saw was a glowing green substance, that triggered some distant memory. "It's...life energy. Part of what is commonly referred to as the Lifestream, or Mako. Every planet has a Lifestream. Except for this one maybe." Pulling away he frowned over the information, turned to Ailill, and shrugged."It's pretty dangerous to mess with." He finished, stepping down from the stool.
