Queen's Chambers: Foyer
Devlin wasn't surprised at his sister's actions, but still spoke anyway.
"Amelie, what is the matter with you? Learn some respect and at least give Atta the respect of bowing to her first before you go rambling on about something that has upset you."
His words were harsh and low. Words of practiced dealings. This was not the first time Amelie had been angry, and acting defiant. One day she will have to be Queen, but before she reaches that milestone she will have to learn to conduct herself in better ways and have stronger more civilized mannerisms. With their mother dead, and father not heard from, he vowed he would protect and teach Amelie as much as he knew so that she would one day, if faced with the task, take the crown and thrown and save Invictus.

*Amelie looked to Devlin and stuck out her tongue.* "She's a relative dummy. It's not like I'll start bowing to you, I didn't even bow down to our parents." *She shot that out him and smiled to Atta.* "I do have some good news though, and a bit of advice."

Alex entered and stood there not knowing what to do. He looked in there and it looked much better then the den but he wished to go back to his friends. But he remembered immediately and bowed to her and stood straight again, "Please forgive me your highness." (( Sorry milady, I sorta forgot he was here and I have been busy. sweatdrop ))

Grimstone walked with Amelie all the way through the hallways of the palace when they reached the room he was assuming was the queen's chambers he stayed silently at the door watching Amelie closely waiting to see if there would be any trouble, also while learning what he could as he would be staying here more often over time.
Jason stood faithfully by his queen he watched the exchange between Devlin and Amelie but then a new aura presented herself an evil one his hand began to tense with the familiar feeling of battle began to surge through him. With a calming breath he watched the newcomer with a very suspicious eye.

*Amelie walked to the door and grabbed Grimstone's hand pulling him into the room.* "Brother, Queen. . . . . . Meet my. . . . . . . friend. Grimstone."

Devlin was not too enthralled with Amelie's...Friend. He was a Vampire by the looks of it and Devlin didn't care for many Vampires anymore. He noticed Jason tense and simply made sure to watch him. Then there was the wolf. The creature had managed itself to get into the Palace. Under who's foolish guidance, he had no idea. Perhaps things had connections to those that were here.

*Amelie looked at Devlin and narrowed her eyes.* "He he a dear friend and the type that will be hanging around the palace very very often. At least as often as I am around." *Her voice was stern as she spoke.*

Devlin grunted to her. She had undesirable tastes in friends, but he couldn't do much about this Vampire. As long as it knew where it's place was, all would be okay. He simply rolled his eyes and continued to look about.

Grimstone smiled and gave a small bow to those 'higher' ranking in the room. He figured he would show a little respect to keep up this human facade he had going for him. His red eyes caught onto this Devlin character and he chuckled to himself as he felt the indifference he had for him.
This is Amelie's new friend and he would be staying around as long as she was around. He wondered how her slave was going to feel about that. But Jason figured it wasn't going to be a problem if this vampire like man and the demon destroyed each other let it happen. "Well Grimstone I guess I must say welcome. You are a friend of the princess and that gives you the right to some of our kindness and respect."
Grimstone gave a small sigh and looked this human in the face, "If you do not like me I will not ask you be nice to me on grounds of respect. It is unneeded. I promise you harmful words will not effect me." He spoke with a soft tone but also a tone that said he held some years and power under belt. This suggested his age was much older than the early twenties he looked.
Jason was unsure of what to say and so he just nodded and stared at the vampire. Mainly with uncertainty, but he felt as if the vampire wasn't all that he seemed. Regardless Jason would watch him when he was on the grounds to make sure Amelie was safe as well as the other members of the royal family, primarily the Queen.

*Amelie look to Jason in suprise as he spoke and grit her teeth before steppin front of him and looking up high to his face.* "This is my home, and he is my guest. He does not have to right to some of your respect but all of it. You, sir,are nothing but a gaurd to my cousin and I will not allow you to act like a pompous a** to someone I have invited into this palace." *She spun to Grimstone.* "Do not bow to them! I come in here introducing a friend, someone very important and this is your reactions. And you darling brother," *She pointed to him and bit her lip before speaking.* "What is it this time you have against a decision I've made like bringing over a friend?" *She had hoped that they would like Grimstone, seeing how they acted during a first meeting it seemed pointless.*

Jason was taken aback by her sudden outburst he had thought himself being kind and when he spoke he still held his proud posture however his voice was quiet as if he was a dog that had been scolded by its owner, "My apologies princess, I did not mean for my words to come off like that. He is of course entitled to our respects." He did not like this feeling but his fealty was sworn to Atta and her kingdom so Amelie had some control of him as well. Not as much as the queen did but she was of noble blood he was there for her if needed as well.
Grimstone's smile never left his face as she scolded him he gently pushed a thought into her mind, It was only out of respect little one, not out of loyalty. You and I are equals because of our bond we share. I was only trying to make a good impression on them. His eyes watched the back of her head as she spoke to her brother, but he couldn't stop smiling.

Queen's Chambers
"You, sister, come barging in here in a grumpy and angered manner. One that has yet to show warrant. You should know I have a natural indifference to Vampires, excluding our dear Cousin and Queen. I have yet to show any disdain just yet, but don't worry, when I do you will know. The fact he is your friend is the only thing that keeps me from actually having anything against him. As long as he knows his place, I have no issue with him. He seems to be well mannered. Keep him that way. Now We need to talk about how we are going to keep ourselves from losing the war that is going on ourside our walls. We need to pick the right side and take full advantage of it. So, if you have anything to offer, please do. Otherwise take your friend. I am sure he will have his time to get to know those here."
His tone was not too enthusiastic with her. He had things to worry about mroe than getting to know everyone and having tea parties. That wasn't his thing.

Grimstone's throat began to rumble with a growl that was very uncharacteristic for a vampire. His anger rising at this pitiful human's words. If it wasn't for the fact that he was inside he might have shifted to his natural form. The low growl ceased only to be followed by a seemingly new found gruff voice, "I do not care who you are, but in my presence you will not treat Amelie like that, and considering I tend to be at her side where she goes I suggest you take your high and mighty attitude and shove it. My place is by her side and you are going to have to live with that whether you like it our not." It was probably not his best line but his temper was flared his red eyes bore into Devlin. He wanted nothing more than to rip the man's throat out for his disrespectful words, especially since they were directed to Amelie, more than him.

*Amelie looked to Devlin.* "Stop acting like this is your domain or your palace Devlin. You'll not scold me as a child and our cousin will make her own choices. You can not send me or my friend away as you please. That is not your place nor is it your right." *She stuck her tongue out and grabbed Grimstones hand.*

Queen's Chambers
He looked at the Vampire. Truly he was lucky. Devlin may not be the nicest at the moment, but he still loved his sister. So the Vampire lived.
"Vampire, you are here simply because you know Amelie. Do not think you have anymore right to tell me how to talk to my own sister. You may be hers, but to me you are nothing. At least that is what you are showing. You had my indifference when you didn't speak. But since you feel it necessary to meddle, you will receive the same scolding. And Amelie, this may not be my domain, but it certainly isn't your playground."
His words held a venomous bite to them. He was never like this normally, but recent circumstances had worn on him and he simply did not care at this time. Devlin's eyes bore right back at the Vampire who seemed content in thinking he could do and say anything in Devlin's own home. He was tired of this. He would have left, but he needed still to talk business with the Queen. Clearly things might have to wait if everyone in the room had something to say of some importance.
